An iceberg metaphor is often used for the conscious (above the surface), preconscious (just below the surface) and unconscious (deep below the surface). Rather than argue the merits of this metaphor, I would offer a simpler version - our behaviour is like a volcano waiting to erupt. If you're not aware of what is bubbling beneath the surface, you run the risk of a huge and devastating eruption. We've all been there. Volcanic eruptions which are smaller and better controlled, however, can offer significant benefits (soil enriching, global cooling etc.) with less harm. 😂⁣

Over the next few days, I hope to use resources to better understand why messages like "Just do it!" just don't cut it with rich self-improvement. We can learn how to use our explosive potential more productively and positively.⁣

“I’m going out for a walk this evening.” - Action that leads to a goal.

“I want to lose some weight!!!” - Dream.

“I’m working out three times a week this summer and I WILL LOSE 10 pounds.” - Yep. Now that’s setting a goal!

The difference is what you do about it! Don’t wish you could get fit. Start doing something every day to make it happen.

Small, consistent actions will lead to BIG RESULTS!

  • It’s Monday again...😎 ————————————————————————Does the beginning of the week make you feel so motivated, you try to do all the things on your to-do list? Yeah...me either haha. But we’ve all been there. Monday is the start of something new, a new week, a new day, a new sunrise. You can do anything you want, but then comes Wednesday and you already lose the motivation to finish what you’ve started. By now, you know I’m running 100 miles in May, and let me tell ya, it’s ROUGH. Between school and life alone, trying to run in between has me exhausted. So right about now, I’m feeling a little drained. But I’m already over half way there, why stop now? 🤷🏼‍♀️ ————————————————————————-Something I read from #girlwashyourface has really stuck with me. “If you can’t keep a promise to yourself, then how are you suppose to keep promises to others?” I promised myself I would finish these miles but take of myself along the way. I can honestly say I’m not as motivated today as I was on May 1st, but it’s become almost routine to run 5-6 days a week. You can do anything you set your mind to (being realistic that is), just don’t give up on yourself! Eventually, what you want will become habit! ✌🏻

💫MONDAY💫
some people view Monday as the worst day of the week, that day when you feel like you just can’t get it together because you are still recovering from the relaxing or fun weekend you just had... To me, Monday’s are the day that kick start me into gear - working towards my #dreams & everyone should have this mindset! Monday is often the BEST day of the work week, the beginning, a clean slate, a day to start your week RIGHT!

with 3 fun filled weekends coming up, my #mondays are going to matter the most, so #letsdothis *note to self: find your self tanner lolz
