- I FEEL LIKE CRAP
How many of you can have more days than you wish to count that you feel like this?
What I mean but feeling like crap is having sub par energy or just generally feeling you have so many dips of energy throughout the day and maybe even struggle to stay focussed.
I’ll be honest I feel like this sometimes.
Days when I have been on my phone too late and then gone to bed and my mind is still spinning from all the information I have scrawled through in the last few hours. Therefore resulting in a shitty nights sleep as I can’t drift off.
Days when I have just been sloppy with my food choices and maybe not drunk enough water.
Or a Monday where I am still feeling the effects of having a few too many beers over the weekend.
Feeling like this now and then is ok but if you do feel this way more often that not you need to ask yourself some hard questions.
At the end of the day you are the reason why you feel like this and its up to you to change this.
You need to take some ownership for your choices.
When working with clients the first few weeks can be really eye opening to how much better they can feel in their own skin.
How much better they feel when they get out of bed, throughout the day and just generally feeling more energised and positive.
Often the main focus can always be getting leaner, adding muscle or looking to ramp up training but don’t underestimate how important energy and all of the above is.
At the end of the day you want to look good but also feel good.

📌Quad Foward Focus⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Squats, by nature, are a quadricep-dominant exercise but the hamstrings and glutes are also active. However, certain adjustments can be made to focus more of the work onto the quadriceps. If you take a narrower stance with the feet hip-width apart, the hips aren’t able to flex as deeply and the thighs are forced to stop at 90 degrees or less. The reduced angle of the hips forces the work onto the quads limiting the action of the hamstring and glutes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Hitting the Hamstrings⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The standard squat stance with the feet slightly wider than shoulder-width automatically focuses work onto the hamstrings. The hamstrings are activated through hip extension, meaning they’re at their most active as you straighten your legs and extend your hips. The wider your stance is, the deeper your hips will flex, therefore, exaggerating hip extension and forcing your hamstrings to activate.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The glutes are a tremendous source of power and strength, and if you can use their strength in a movement, you almost always should.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take a wider stance when squatting, such as 140-150 percent of shoulder width. This allows for greater posterior displacement of the hips⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

- I am not one for full length photos - especially when my legs are out, but whilst on holiday we got some snaps and lots of people have commented on the legs....I can’t quite believe the change in them and the definition which is starting to form - it’s not until people start noticing and making comments that you start noticing yourself! Those squats that keep being thrown at me are definitely starting to pay off, I can feel them getting stronger and stronger everyday! - This lunge variation is great for developing overall body awareness, coordination and basketball dribbling skills!
The challenge is to keep your hips, spine and head all aligned by activating your abdominal muscles as you switch the kettlebell between your legs without looking down.
First, take a step forward, bend both knees in a lunge position and then start the kettlebell switch movement, go up pressing mostly from the front leg, finally bring the back leg to the initial position. .

I’m taking a rest day today to focus on my school work, but I wanted to encourage you all to embrace your progress and be proud of it! For the longest time I would get so frustrated because my quads took over just about any leg movement I would perform. I have tried so hard to see results in my glutes, but the only place I’m seeing growth is my quads. I’m learning to accept that I’m extremely quad dominant and honestly I’m so okay with it! Sure, there will be times I wish I had a bigger booty, but instead of dwelling on it, I’m gonna be GRATEFUL for my strong quads and continue to work on overall strength! Out curiosity, what’s the easiest muscle group for you to grow? Comment below ⬇️

OH WHAT A GREAT SEGWAY TO what vegan protein powders I recommend! I get asked a lot and am not sponsored so I can speak ~~freely~~
@drinkorgain is my absolute favorite. I love their chocolate flavored powder AND their little prepackaged shakes. Those saved me when I was a social worker bc they’re SUPER convenient.
Another vegan protein “shake” hack that doesn’t require protein powder: find the Silk protein nut milk in regular and chocolate. You can usually find them at target or any grocery store! (Besides Whole Foods for some reason??) Mix 2 servings of the regular nut milk with 1/2 serving of the chocolate and hi you just made chocolate milk with 25g of protein 🥳
Other: I also heard Ghost vegan protein is good but I haven’t had a chance to try bc it’s usually sold out. (*clears throat and looks over at Ghost*)
