  • I consider la croqueta to be one of the smartest moves out there. There are a few reasons for this that I will explain down below. Tag a mate who loves using this move!
-
First, there are 2 variations of this move. I show you them slowly here. One where you tap the ball from one foot to the other across your body, the other is where you will quickly drag it across and have your body follow. Both are useful to learn.
-
This move can be used in many scenarios (another reason why it's one of the smartest). The possibilities are seriously endless with it. Because it allows you to keep the ball close, it can be used all over the pitch.
-
That being said, there are two common situations you will use it in. First, when you try and off balance the defender and then take it away as they try and recover, and second, it can be used in a reactionary fashion in an instinctual way when someone tries to tackle you unexpectedly.
-
It can also be used in a sneaky way like you see Iniesta doing in the last part of the vid. He uses it to go down the line when the defender would have never expected it.
-
Why is this a smart move? I made a YT video on it and so many people criticized it because it's a simple move! So, a smart move means it has to be complex? This is a smart move because it can be used in most situations, and it takes timing! Smart players know how to time their moves. Any player can do the movement, smart players know when to do the movement. That's a HUGE difference. I don't care if you know how. It's about whether you can execute it at the right time.
-
This is also a move used at the highest level. Get out of this mindset that a move is only worth learning if it's complex or cool. Mastering a "basic" move like this one will benefit you way more in match situations.

  • I love ball mastery drills because you can do them almost anywhere and improve your manipulation over the ball. In this short video, I am giving you an example of 3 you can do to improve your ability with the ball at your feet!⠀
-⠀
How good is your ball mastery from a scale of 1-10?⠀
-⠀
▶️ The first drill is simple. Start with the ball a little bit ahead of you, drag it back towards your body, and then use the top of your foot to touch it to the starting spot. You'll then alternate feet and do it on the other side. Do this quickly within control. If the ball is bouncing off so you have to go chase it, you're going too fast!⠀
-⠀
▶️ Another simple one, you are simply rolling the ball from one side to the other here. Stay on your toes and try to go as fast as you can! Fairly straightforward.⠀
-⠀
▶️ Last one is a bit more tricky and will take more practice. You will start by dragging the ball behind you and then touching it to the other side as you hop. Your touch should allow the ball to be in the starting position for your other leg. You then repeat this on the other side. Feel this one out. There's a rhythm to it.⠀

  • So we showed you one of our players demonstrating the Reverse Cut last week. Here’s the link from training to the game. At the very highest level. By one of the GOAT 🐐!! To create ‘ball feeling’ to the level of @cristiano takes time, patience, and the correct training and coaching. Then, and only then, it becomes automatic!
Something for our players to aspire to! 👊⚽️🔥🇦🇺

  • Here is one of my favorite drills to develop skill, quick touches, and confidence on the ball. I simply call it touch every step!⠀
-⠀
How quick are your feet on a scale of 1-10? Let me know in the comments!⠀
-⠀
🔥 The idea here is to take as many touches as you can keeping the ball in this small box. Use the inside, outside and sole of both of your feet in different combinations.⠀
-⠀
🔥 You also want to go as fast as you can! Push yourself here. You'll be amazed how much this drill helps you if you go all out every time you do it.⠀
-⠀
🔥 Because you are going all out, don't be afraid of making a mistake. In fact, you will if you're trying your best. Mistakes are fine! It means you are pushing your edge. Sure, don't do it to the point where you are making one every few seconds, but if you're pushing yourself, you'll end up making one or two.⠀
-⠀
🔥 It only takes doing this drill 5-10 min a day to see improvements. Get out there and get to it!⠀
