Coach Jen and Coach Sarah take us through some basic kettlebell movements. First, we learn the kettlebell swing! PhaseFit classes use kettlebells frequently in our total body workouts. 🏋️‍♀️ Come to a kettlebell class for hands on instruction with Jen and Sarah and to learn more! 💥⠀

The kettlebell swing is a foundational movement from which almost all other movements build from. Technique is important in this move to engage the correct muscles and protect your back! The primary drivers of the swing are your hamstrings, hips, quads, and core. Your arm simply acts as a “lever” and “pivot point” like in a pendulum and should not be doing most of the work! This movement is similar to a standard kb swing, but notice the double knee bend in a rocking chair movement! ⠀

When I choose to repractice capoeira after 7 years of break, I knew it will be painfull. Not for cardio, power or endurance... Just painfull every time I will try to reach my legs higher 😆

Thanks to IG, I exchange with many people how to improve my flexibility and start to work on it everyday 🤣🙌 I don't know at the end if I will be able to reach the sky but in any case It will be higher than yesterday 👊

Quand j'ai décidé de reprendre la capoeira après un break de 7 ans, je savais que ça allait être douloureux. Pas au niveau cardio, ni de la puissance ou de l'endurance... Juste douloureux à chaque fois que j'allais essayer de mes jambes plus haut 😆

Grâce à IG, j'ai pu rencontrer & échanger avec pas mal de personne sur comment la travailler et l'améliorer. Je me suis embarqué dans un travail de tous les jours 🤣🙌 Je sais pas au final si j'arriverai à atteindre le ciel mais elles monteront toujours plus haut que la veille 👊

  • Победа на кубке Росии в Томске!Было непросто! Каждый выход на помост, каждый вздох, каждый миг полной концентрации и никакой слабины! Ошибок никто не прощает. Каждый раз для меня это какой-то азарт... Азарт с самим собой! Проверить себя, свою нервную систему и психологическую устойчивость на прочность. На помосте поднимать гири- это совершенно иное! Организация на самом высшем уровне! Томск реально круто все сделал! Столько энергии вложено! Я был горд и не верил , что снова стою на помосте... Спасибо всем кто болел за меня! Я чувствовал поддержку каждого из Вас! Особые слова благодарности @valentinaalferovariss ! Я не подвел Вас!

  • 🔥Adductor Strength🔥

👉🏼 I have gotten several requests on adductor strength so here are some of my go to moves to strengthen the adductors/groin area.
-
✅ Copenhagen Plank: This exercise works both adductors both isometrically and concentrically.  This is one of my favorites and is pretty challenging. Fond a bench and try to hold for one minute. You can bring the bottom leg up and down as shown in the video or just hold it in place.
✅ Hip Add lift off: This one works best if you put in alot of effort. Actively try to lift the ankle off the ground as high as you can. When at the top, continue to fight to bring the leg higher. The harder you try, the harder the exercise will be.
✅ Eccentric Cossack Squat: This is great to incorporate as your working on eccentric control which is great for injury mitigation as well. Only gas as low as you can control. Go slow and try not to use momentum.

  • DVRT to the rescue 😎@peretzthetrainer 💥One Arm Suspension Row💥

This exercise is a challenging progression from a bilateral row. A common mistake I see is people using the same amount of body weight for both exercises, so they end up using momentum and swinging their way up to the top. It’s Obviously not a very effective way to perform the movement.
.
Here are a couple of great ideas I learned from the #DVRT system to help get the most from the exercise.
.
In the 2nd part of the video I’m holding a fairly light #Kettlebell. Gripping the bell hard connects my shoulder and lat which helps me maintain my standing plank.
.
In the last part of the video I’m pressing a @perform_better #leverbell . I’m going to use a direct quote from @joshhenkindvrt “We are going to take advantage of the natural push/pull that the body likes to use because we are rotational beings. It isn’t about loading the body more, but using tension and the natural “cylinder” of our body to help resist movement of the trunk and enhancing the row.”
