✅Apple Cider Vinegar is a “supplement” that has gained a lot of traction the past couple of years.  Many claims have come out stating that it helps with fat loss, digestion, lowering cholesterol levels, and also glucose control response (diabetics mainly). Lets break each one down.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅FAT LOSS:  A study done on obese Japanese individuals over a 12 week period were consuming either 15ml or 30ml of vinegar daily (Kondo 2009). At the end of the 12 weeks, those consuming the vinegar experienced lower bodyweight, BMI, visceral fat.  The overall fat loss for the two groups was just over 4lbs in a 12 week time frame.  It is believed that the acetate in vinegar possibly inhibits lipogenesis and stimulates fatty acid oxidation (burning of fat for energy). Both groups though did regain some weight 4 weeks after. So does it aid in fat loss? Possibly..but the biggest key factor of weight loss is still being in a caloric deficit.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅DIGESTION: Unfortunately, there is still little research on apple cider vinegar and its overall digestive benefits (other than slowing gastric emptying). However, some individuals do comment on it reducing gas and aid with indigestion.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅CHOLESTEROL:  While no specific human studies have been completed, a study done on rats completed in 2008 showed some interesting information (Shishehbor 2008). Apple cider vinegar did improve the serum lipid profiles, decrease triglyceride serum levels, decrease LDL (bad cholesterol) and increase HDL (good cholesterol). These rats were consuming 6% of their food intake from apple cider vinegar though.  This would be a very large amount of ACV for humans though!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅BLOOD SUGAR:  Vinegar has also been said to “suppress” the speed of which glucose is entering the blood stream.  The implementation of vinegar with meals has shown that ones glucose response can be depressed (Brighenti 1995). A lower response of 31.4% post 95mins meal was noted, but levels quickly returning to normal exposures 120mins post ingestion.  This slow response could simply be due to the slowing gastric emptying effects that apple cider.

  • Day 3 of the 60 hour Reboot less than 24 hour to go!

Back to Ironman training this am! Up early getting my cycling in. But first my pre-fuel of Ketones in. I switched another flavor out for our newest drop Passion Fruit to change it up! I’m obsessed over this flavor!

Ketones on or off the 60 hour Reboot give me the energy I need for my workouts and #momlife in general!

I have noticed such a huge change in my workouts/recovery: fat loss and muscle pop (lean out) energy levels since I have been drinking ketones. 💪🏼🏋🏻‍♀️🧘‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️🏊🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️🏃‍♀️

👨🏼‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cook ground beef with taco seasoning. Set aside.
2. Layer a small amount of shredded cheese in the bottom of large cupcake tin moulds, about 1cm thick.
3. Melt the cheese in oven until it starts to bubble on top.
4. Add cooked taco filling to each cheese taco shell, filling it only on my one side.
5. Fold over other side, and wah-lah! You have mini tacos! Filling can be changed to suit whatever you crave!
6. Enjoy with guacamole and sour cream dipping bowls!

INGREDIENTS 📝

* 64 g almond flour
* 28 g coconut flour
* 1 tablespoon psyllium husk ground
* 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
* 240 ml water
* 57 g grass-fed butter or coconut oil
* 2 tablespoons Swerve or xylitol*
* 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
* 2 eggs lightly beaten
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Garnish:
* grass-fed butter or coconut oil, melted
* 1/4-1/2 cup xylitol or sweetener of choice, to taste
* 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon we use 2
* sugar free chocolate sauce optional

DIRECTIONS 👨🏼‍🍳
-
1. Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or a baking mat. 
3. Whisk together in a medium bowl almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk and xanthan gum. Set aside. 
4. Heat up water, butter, sweetener and salt in medium pot (or Dutch oven) until it just begins to simmer. Lower heat to low and add in flour mixture, mixing constantly to incorporate. Continue to cook and stir until the dough pulls away from the pan and forms into a ball, 1-3 minutes.
5. Transfer dough back to the bowl and allow to cool for 5 minutes. The dough should still be warm, but not hot enough to scramble the eggs.
6. Add in one egg at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. The dough will be very stiff, but keep going until fully mixed in. Mix in vanilla extract. The final dough should still be stiff and form into a ball easily, but will also be very elastic. You can use a hand mixer here for a faster approach if you prefer.
7. Allow the dough to rest until it comes to room temperature (10-15 minutes) and spoon dough into a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe out rounds onto the prepared baking tray, we made 12 out of a batch.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until deep golden. Baking times will vary a lot here depending on your oven (convection etc), so check in at minute 10. Brush with melted butter right out of the oven and sprinkle with cinnamon 'sugar'.
9. Store in an airtight container for 3 days, giving them a quick re-warm before serving 🙌🏼

📋 INGREDIENTS:

Shredded Cheese
Taco Seasoning
Ground Beef
Guacamole + Sour Cream (for dipping)

👨🏼‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS:
•
1. Cook ground beef with taco seasoning. Set aside.
2. Layer a small amount of shredded cheese in the bottom of large cupcake tin moulds, about 1cm thick.
3. Melt the cheese in oven until it starts to bubble on top.
4. Add cooked taco filling to each cheese taco shell, filling it only on my one side.
5. Fold over other side, and wah-lah! You have mini tacos! Filling can be changed to suit whatever you crave!
6. Enjoy with guacamole and sour cream dipping bowls!
