  • I’m about to catch up on the Women’s in the Bible Challenge. Day 15 is Hannah.
.
.
We sing a song in church called, “You Can’t Beat God’s Giving .” I found that to be true. The more you give to God, the more He gives to you. Hannah was one of the wives of Elkanah. His other wife, Peninnah, had children but Hannah was barren. Occasionally, Peninnah would provoke Hannah for being childless and caused much grief to her heart. Here’s another example of Sarah and Hagar and Rachel and Leah. .
.
Whenever you pray honestly to God, He will hear you and will answer your prayers. Hannah went to the temple and she poured her heart out to the Lord. She asked for a son and she vowed to the Lord to give the child back to Him. After she completed her prayer, God confirmed her request through the priest Eli that her prayer would be answered. I Samuel 1.
.
God indeed blessed Hannah with a sin called Samuel and she kept her vow to the Lord and gave him back to Him. As she gave to God, God gave to her five more children. I Samuel 2:21. God saw a woman that longed for a child for years but was willing to give her only son to him. He blessed her with more because of her giving heart. God loves a cheerful giver.

  • Day 8 of the Women’s Bible Journal Challenge.
.
.
Miriam was the elder sister of Aaron and Moses. She was her brother’s keeper when she watched Moses in a basket float down the Nile river. She was known as the praise dancer that got her tambourine and praised God in dancing and singing, after God delivered them through the Red Sea. .
.
Like every siblings, she had her moments of experimenting jealousy with Moses. In Numbers 12, she and Aaron began to question Moses leadership. One day Aaron and Miriam criticized about Moses decision of marrying a woman from Cush. Her skin was dark and without them knowing, they touched God’s anointed. The Bible tells us to touch not thine anointed, do thy prophet no harm. If you are talking about the spouse, you are talking about the other spouse because when you are married, you are one. God wasn’t pleased with their conversation and Miriam was smitten with leprosy. Moses was unhappy with her behavior, yet he loved his sister. He prayed and asked God to heal her and seven days she was healed. .
.
What you think is alright with God, may not be pleasing to Him. That’s why we should get to know what God likes and dislikes. We should get to know Him and His ways. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. What God made is beautiful. God is not pleased with someone criticizing other appearances and statues. Bullying is not acceptable in the eyes of God. We should treat each other nice, because you never know who will have to pray for you in the future.

  • Day 6 of the Women’s Journal Bible Challenge is Leah.
.
.
Leah was the elder sister of Rachel. Jacob was deeply in love with her sister Rachel and wanted to marry her, but her father deceived him and he mistakenly married Leah. In order him to marry Rachel, he had to work seven more years after working seven years for her earlier. After marrying Rachel, he had two sisters and two wives. .
.

The Bible said in Genesis 29:31, “And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb but Rachel was barren.” In my childhood, my elders told me “God don’t like ugly “, and when you treated someone wrongly or have bad feelings in your heart against that person, that is not God like. God is love, and He’s a God of love and not hate. For Leah’s sake, God chose to exalt that what men rejected and opened up her womb and making Rachel barren.
.
.
Rachel was beautiful and well favored and Leah was tender eyed (weak eyed). Genesis 29:17. God made us all and we are beautiful to Him. Regardless Rachel was more attractive to others, Leah was beautiful to God. Despise and hate are similar. Despise means to consider a person or thing not worthy noticing or taking interest in. It’s a feeling of strong dislike and true hatred. Remember, Jesus was despised and rejected. Isaiah 63:3. This is why bullying should not be accepted. Because someone appearance is not acceptable to you, it is acceptable to God. God made us all and everything God made was good. Whether you was born with a disability, disease, little person or a tall person, you are beautiful!!!! God doesn’t make mistakes and you are not a mistake. Leah was not a mistake and she bore sons to made up the twelve tribes of Israel. How great was that!!!

  • Day 3 of the Women’s Bible Journal Challenge. Topic: Hagar.
.
.
God told Abraham that Sarah would bear him a son. Abraham believed God , but Sarah had problems believing. She encouraged Abraham to use one of the concubines as a surrogate to give him a son. Warning, when you don’t believe God or acknowledge God, there will be problems. .
.
God word stood regardless how Sarah chose to do it her way. Abraham agreed to please Sarah, but Ishmael was not the promise. While Hagar carried Abraham son, she became arrogant and mocked Sarah. When someone is not able to fulfill a task, it’s very rude to mock or hurt their feelings. I heard the sayings, “two women can’t cook in a kitchen, because one will think they were better than the other one.” That what happened to Hagar. She moved up from being the handmaiden to being the mother of her master and became arrogant. She thought she was better than Sarah since Sarah was barren. Little did she know that Sarah was promised a son and God word would come to pass. After the birth of Isaac, there still was problems between Hagar and Sarah and Sarah persuaded Abraham to bid Hagar and her son to leave. .
.
God didn’t abandon Hagar and her son but she was taught a valuable lesson. When you have an opportunity to be a blessing, stay humble.
