  • Hehe, so I got a little dramatic with today’s #SpringCleaningYogis pose😜 Today we are balancing and twisting with #EaglePose #Garudasana which matches perfectly with talking about breath, as when I do 🦅 I have to breathe very slowly and evenly to balance and especially remain balanced once my arms are wrapped. . .
Two #Pranayama (#breathcontrol ) which I sometimes practice are Ujjayi and Kapalabhati which are virtual opposites of each other. I find Ujjayi much more natural and calming to me, and since I usually practice slower forms of yoga, this suits my practice well. Kapalabhati on the other hand...I have taken classes where it has been done at the beginning or shortly into the practice, as a means of building heat and also cleaning out the respiratory system. Sometimes I’m successful at this and enjoy it, but other times it is too similar to how I have felt while having a panic attack (short fast breaths) and so I’ve had to stop and return to calm, even breaths. My yoga teacher also used to start classes with Kumbhaka Pranayama (holding your breath) which over a period of 6 months I got much better at, but again because of previous anxiety attacks sometimes it was too stressful for me to do, and I haven’t practiced it now for about 18 months. Essentially, you just have to do whatever breathing is right for you....as long as you KEEP BREATHING!! I know there are poses I sometimes forget to breathe in ~ usually backbends. What poses do you hold your breath in?

• use a water filter at home and ditch plastic bottles (please support @liquidoflifedxb if you’re in the UAE)
• use reusable shopping bags

  • Hello fellow IG yogis😊. How’s your Thursday? Yesterday we shared on how to cleanse your spirituality with the help of healing crystals and stones. Today we are going to introduce #BreathWork . #Pranayama , or breathing exercises supplies more oxygen to the body. Pranayama is the key to a healthy body. Panayama is a Sanskrit word alternatively translated as "extension of the prāṇa" or "breath control." The word is composed from two Sanskrit words: prana meaning life force, and either ayama or the negative form ayāma, meaning to extend or draw out. It is a yogic discipline with origins in ancient India. I just learned this breathing exercise recently from my Indian yoga instructor and I love it! One of my favourite Pranayama is #AnulomVilom . Anulom Vilom pranayama should be done on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning after evacuation. It can also be done in the evening with a gap of 4 hours after the last meal.Anulom Vilom Pranayama is very easy to do, first of all, close your eyes and sit in Padmasana and rest your hands on your knees.
Close the right nostril with the right thumb. Inhale slowly through the left nostril, inhale the oxygen as much as you can, this will fill your lungs with air. Check my IG story for my share today. Do you practice Pranayama? Day 5 of #SpringCleaningYogis is #EaglePose . I opted mine on Humble eagle variation and the traditional.

  • I have cellulite.
A bum, and boobs. Neither are as perky as I’d like them to be.
My tummy isn’t flat and my thighs touch at the top.
I have wrinkles and grey hairs.

Does any of this bother me? Not much, not anymore. There were times in the past when I warred with my body, willing it to be something it couldn’t. Somehow it forgave me, and I forgave myself. We’re more at peace now.
.
Most of my wrinkles are from smiling, or from thinking about a problem I’m solving. The grey hairs are fascinating to track. Under the wobbly bits are muscles that are pretty strong. And who doesn’t have cellulite anyways?

  • O detoxu je slyšet na každém kroku, ale víte že půst nemusí probíhat jenom na fyzické úrovni? 
I NAŠE DUŠE SI ZASLOUŽÍ OČISTU.🙌 Je škoda, že o očistě mysli se téměř nemluví, přitom emoční rovina se často prolíná do té fyzické. Jednou z možností je například buddhistická praxe vipassaná – tzv. meditační praxe vnitřního vhledu. 
Její nejpřísnější varianta se odehrává za zdmi chrámů a zahrnuje přísné dodržování mlčení těla a mysli po dobu deseti dnů. Moderní člověk často takové možnosti nemá, ale můžeme alespoň omezit každodenní stres. 👉👉👉 Odjet na chalupu nebo na prodloužený víkend na hory a obrátit pohled do naší mysli. Spojit se s přírodou a zaposlouchat se do zvuků lesa. Pomoct mohou i pravidelné deníkové zápisy, které nám umožní soustředit se na sebe samé.
