  • Another bit of splashing about tonight, pain free session🏊 Felt great in there tonight. Slight shoulder mobility restriction on left shoulder, didn't feel like I was fully rotating around. Some work to be done there.

  • ‼Looking to improve your deadlift or just overall posterior chain strength ⁉️ Try pausing about an inch or 2 below your knee the next time you do deadlifts.  You'll find that you won't be able to do as much weight or maybe not as many reps. 
The pause in the middle forces you to control the entire movement.  You stop momentum,  build up A LOT of isometric tension in the posterior chain and then finish the movement.

Today marks one year since Daniel’s motorcycle accident.
That day we were constantly fighting.
Communication was horrible.
Yet 40 minutes before his accident I felt the need to tell him I loved him.
Something came over me & I just wanted us to stop fighting.
Shortly after I get the call that he was in a motorcycle accident.
From there time stopped & the next few months were dedicated to getting Dan back on his feet again.
- road rash all over his left leg & both buttocks
- Surgery to remove all the skin down to the muscle from necrosis on his lower left leg
During that time it felt like it would never end.
There was always another issue.
But as time passed he recovered faster than any doctor has seen.
The hole in his leg grew 0.5 cm of new skin in just ONE WEEK!
- no skin graft needed
- Out of the hospital in 5 days
As the challenges begin to fade you too begin to forget it ever happened.
You go right back to a typical day.
But the truth is I could have lost him that day.
Just like you could lose someone today & have no warning or thought in your mind that it could even happen.
Hold on to your loved ones. You don’t need a terrible accident to remind you everyday that you could lose someone tomorrow.

Live in the moment.
Hug those around you.
Tell people you love em.
I promise you won’t regret it.

God has been consistent in my life for my whole life. But 1 year ago is when I finally found a healthy relationship with Him. One where I didn’t expect so much of Him. “Well I prayed and went to church so I should get what I asked for.” WRONG. I do still pray and go to church but it’s for a better purpose. My purpose. The one that He has given me. And I will oblige because He is my Savior. And I know for damn sure He will always provide me with what is best, not what I want!⁣

This new relationship and mindset has brought me to a place I never thought I’d see. It has brought me to love my physical features, my mentality, and my soul. I love myself from the most exterior to the most interior. THAT is where true success & happiness starts. Within you.⁣
⁣
Work on you first. It is not selfish. It is what is being asked of you. Are you working everyday to love yourself? Putting in the work to a healthier relationship with yourself and with God?⁣
⁣
Start with writing out your thoughts. Journal every morning before you start your day (I don’t care how early it is). Just DO it.⁣
⁣
If you practice this daily and stay consistent with it, you will progress and become better for it!⁣

  • 🍓 Always sippin on my @ehplabs Beyond BCAA’s during the day to help make sure I am well hydrated.

I have always struggled keeping up with my fluid intake until recently. Adding 1 scoop of beyond BCAA’s not only makes water taste SO delicious, but it’s great for recovery and muscle soreness too!

I usually have 1 scoop pre workout in the AM with a litre of water, followed by the same amount during training. P.s strawberry daiquiri is now one of my favourite flavours 🤤

We trust and show courage. We set an example saying that it is okay to ask for help.
We are here to support and empower each other. And we cannot always be the one helping out. Life will eventually show us both sides.

For day 9 of #AloFrontAndBack you can choose any fold with a prop. I used the wall to lean onto for my fold. And just looking at it, you might think it’s not so different from a regular fold. But the wall really helps to deepen the stretch. And it feels nice to be held by the wall completely and trust.
