  • We will be hosting the Del Norte Knights Football team at Milne on Thursday night and as you have heard there is already some friendly wagers being issued by their administration (link in our bio ). This weeks poster features one of the most feared faces on our Hornets, Senior Philip Van Dalen. Standing at almost 6 feet and 180 lbs, Philip is a runaway freight train seeking out linebackers to hit on the opposite side when he gets that ball. He’s also one of our many Ironmen who play both sides of the ball, giving QBs and RBs nightmares while staring them down from the DT position ! Our defense only allowed 7 points against Belen and we look to shut down Del Norte this Thursday night ! Hope to see you all there !#earned #earnednotgiven #weallwegotweallweneed #thehive #Hornetsfootball #highland #hornets #HHS

  • Two days ago, we presented you with a graphic displaying Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne's ability to dominate games from the inside-right channel, commonly known as the "half space." Whilst De Bruyne has certainly established himself as a player who often enjoys blindsiding the opposition with drilled crosses from the right half space, Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu is also a danger man in his own right inside the opposite half space with a different style.

Deulofeu often gets on the ball in deeper areas, often leading a transition from defence to attack, and unleashes himself until reaching the left half space in the attacking third. Then, instead of drilling a cross towards the far post like De Bruyne, Deulofeu calmly remains on the ball and keeps the opposition defence guessing what he'll do next before calmly playing a cutback to a teammate arriving in the box. He was the catalyst behind Watford's comeback from 2-0 down against Arsenal earlier today, as he created eight chances in open play whilst completing seven dribbles.

@hornets @michaelbjordan #hornets #jordan #prensaarizona

⁣⁣⁣
The Eastern Conference opening round matchup between the young Charlotte Hornets and the aging Boston Celtics wasn’t only a contrast in ages between the stars of the two teams. It represented a chance for a potential new challenger of the Chicago Bulls dynasty of the 90s to close the book on a great dynasty of the 80s.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
With the powerful young duo of second year star Larry Johnson and rookie sensation Alonzo Mourning leading the charge, the Hornets were one game away from eliminating the fading Celtics to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and a matchup with the New York Knicks. Down 2-1 in the best-of-five series, the Celtics fought bravely in Game 4 behind 24 points from Robert Parish (age 39) and 19 from Kevin McHale (age 35) while clinging to a 103-102 lead with 22 seconds left. After a Larry Johnson drive to the basket came up short, the Hornets had one final chance to win the series in four games.⁣⁣⁣

𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐈𝐃𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐒: ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🏀 In game one of the series, Celtics star Reggie Lewis collapsed to the floor with no one around him. He did not play again in the series or in his career as on July 27, 1993, Lewis collapsed at an off-season practice and died. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣
🏀 This was the final career game for Celtics legend Kevin McHale. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣
🏀 Robert Parish would play one more season with the Celtics (his 14th), and play the next two years with the Charlotte Hornets.⁣⁣⁣
⁣
🏀 The Hornets were eliminated by the Knicks in the conference semis four games to one. ⁣⁣
