Chocolate flavoured piggy buttermilk pancakes. Yes yes I used premixed pancake mixture and hot cocoa powder for the batter this time😁 好简单哦 Just add milk, butter and egg. Definitely saved me the trouble of buying more raw ingredients. 
Pancakes turned out chocolaty, light and soft. Plus the funny piggy faces did cheer everyone up. #honeybeesweetsfoodfun

Luckily these pancakes turned out fluffy and delicious! And that Pandan coconut fragrance was really nice too😍 很香哦。Just need to plan my time properly next time... Made them into cute froggies, decorated with cream cheese and melted chocolate. #honeybeesweetsfoodfun 
My kid asked me why 🐸 no legs ...🙄 Served with heavy cream scrambled eggs, Italian garden salad, fresh berries and smoked salmon slices.

Pandan coconut fluffy pancakes
- makes about 10-12 depending on the size 
2 egg yolks
20g caster sugar 
100ml fresh Pandan juice
25ml coconut oil
160g cake flour
1 tsp baking powder 
100ml coconut milk

2 egg whites
30g caster sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cream tartar 
Method
1) Cream egg yolks and sugar till thicken and sugar melted. Add coconut oil and Pandan juice. Whisk well. 
2) Add in cake flour and baking powder and whisk will just combined. Add coconut cream and combine.
3) Whisk egg whites, sugar, salt & cream of tartar till stiff peaks. Gently fold meringue to main batter (2) and preheat a nonstick pan over Low heat.
4) Lightly grease the pan and spoon some batter to cook. It’ll take 2-3 mins on each side. Repeat till all the batter is used. Enjoy!

Chocolate and vanilla bear pancakes using basic batter. Served along with berries, bacon and creamy scrambled eggs. #honeybeecooksscrambledeggs

Sharing the pancake recipe here but feel free to use others in my tag #honeybeeweekendbreakfast ———————————————-
180g cake flour
40g caster sugar
5g baking powder
1 large egg
10ml vanilla extract 
180ml fresh milk
30g melted salted butter

10g sifted quality cocoa powder (I used @valrhona_asia 70% cocoa)

Method 
1) In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the melted butter and cocoa powder. Whisk well.
2) Stir in the melted butter and then portion out 80g of the batter into another bowl.
3) Sift in the cocoa powder to the larger batter portion. Whisk well. Note that I use the plain vanilla one for the belly, the chocolate flavoured one for the body, limps & arm’s. 
4) Preheat the non stick pan at Low heat and very lightly grease it with melted butter. 
5) Spoon the batter on the pan and cook  till the batter surface starts to bubble a little. Flip and cook for a minute more. Dish up and repeat till all the batter is used. 
6) Serve with maple syrup and fresh fruits. Enjoy while it’s warm. ———————————————-

Drew one of my favourite characters @bugcat_capoo on my home baked pumpkin loaf. They are just so cute and cheers Bee up whenever I’m blue ☺️(though it’s blue😆) Love that 🙄 roll eyes one most 😂#honeybeesweetsfoodfun 
Served with usual favourites of eggs, salad and fresh fruits. Also sautés some cheesy cocktail sausages from @tastesingapore which is really quite tasty! Go check out their store in HollandV!

Soufflé Pooh Bear Pancakes. Hmm...a little too toasty 🙈 It was so hard to flip the soft pancakes ...had to leave it to set longer...thus the darker shade🙄 But still fluffy and soft thank goodness hee. 
You can catch me cooking the pancakes....until I panicked and saw how much time I’ve left😂 #恍然大悟

  • 【Recipe】Dinner home and spending some quiet time with the family before the start of new week tomorrow. #honeybeeweekendmeals 
Crispy chicken cutlet burgers with home baked brioche buns, served with kale, cheddar, heirloom tomato slices and sriracha aioli on the side. Brioche buns are butter toasted on cut sides, and decorated with puppy 🐶 faces. #honeybeesweetsfoodfun 
Cheesy roasted cauliflower and pumpkin slices as sides which turned out so good😍 #很推荐哦 . I had them seasoned with truffle salt, fresh ground pepper and roast them with creamy Gouda cheese. 
Boneless chicken cutlets with skin, seasoned with truffle salt, pepper, garlic purée, garlic chilli, shallot oil and onion powder. No flour coating, pan fried on both sides till 80% cooked through. Then finish crisping up the skin in the oven at 200°C for 8-10 mins. 
Seasoned Cauliflower and pumpkin slices are roasted at 180°C for 8 mins. Then remove from oven and topped with shredded Gouda, then roast another 8 mins at 180°C till cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  • Happy 54th Birthday Singapore! Still so young and yet so amazing! Proud to call you my home☺️. Woke up early to make a special National Day theme breakfast, but this took me longer then expected. #honeybeeweekendbreakfast 
Drafting and slowly drawing out these Merlion...trying not to mess up😅 But still end up so so only 🙄 怎么搞的

But these will have to do! Happy Merlions on my home baked brioche loaf. (Did you see my IG stories yesterday😁 #alwaysbaking ) #honeybeesweetsfoodfun

Oh and not forgetting that cold brew tea I experimented yesterday. It’s really good! Blending 2 flavours which turned out quite delicious. I merely added water and left it to brew overnight in the fridge. Serve it chilled with lemon slices, great for any time of the day. 
Glad that the family still enjoyed this even though it was kind of rushed out (as usual🙄). Happy holidays guys! Gonna chill for the rest of the day .....if I can tahan🙈😂

  • 【Recipe】Some how when it was meant to be a simple meal...it always turn out the other way 🙄 #WHY #自找的 
It started off with just making a hearty tomato base chunky soup with homemade beef meatballs, broccoli, crispy bacon, and potato chunks sautéed in bacon fat. 
And when it’s done...I felt something was missing and then the  bunny 🐰onigiri happened 🙄🙈 And the onigiri was lonely, so an egg 🐥🥚was added.

Either ways, the kid was happy eating the lunch...be it cute or not 😅 #多此一举吗

Tomato base soup was made with my homemade marinara sauce! Just thinned it out with homemade stock and milk. Season not needed as the ingredients added made it tasty enough.

  • 【Recipe】Told myself I’m gonna sleep late and take it easy this morning. And then I woke up at 6am🙄 #搞什么

Did my usual recipe reads and then got in the kitchen to make breakfast for the kids. Bread and spreads today 😂 #honeybeeweekendbreakfast

Drew the chick and one of its piggy friend on my home baked brioche bread. Used my homemade lemon curd and strawberry jam flavoured cream cheese to doodle.

Baked eggs (serves 2)
2 large organic eggs
1 potato, peeled and cut small
2 bacon strips, pan fried till crisp, reserve fat for later
1 small handful spinach, washed 
4 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp cooking cream
4 tbsp fresh milk

Seasoning
Salt, pepper and garlic powder

Method
1) Boil the potato chunk for 5 mins till just cooked. Dap dry and pan fry them in bacon fat till crisp. Divide them in the 2ramekins 
2) Sauté the spinach and drain away excess liquid. Roughly chop it and divide them equally into the 2 ramekins. 
3) Add 1 tbsp cream and 2 tbsp milk in each ramekin, then season it well. 
4) Finally add the cheeses and eggs. Sprinkle some more salt and pepper. 
5) Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15-16mins till the egg yolk almost set and it’s bubbly. 
6) Remove from oven and let cool slightly and serve with bacon strips. Enjoy!

  • 【Recipe】Made a simple dessert for a family gathering tonight! Actually there’s a lot of food but I thought it be fun for the kids😂🐷 #itchyhand #honeybeesweetscakebakes

A simple raspberry sponge cake decorated with fruits and chocolate buttons to make a piggy face🐷 #againthepig 
Soft, moist and springy texture! I love the slight tangy flavour from the fresh fruit purée 😋 No cream or frosting needed as I know it’ll be too heavy if I added it. 
Did Lo Hei with the family and this is only one of the tables! 太多人😂 Cut up the cake and it was finished on the spot, yay!

Raspberry sponge cake 6” round by 3” tall

Egg yolk batter
90 g unsalted butter
110 g cake flour
1/2 tsp baking power
4 large egg yolks
70 ml fresh milk
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (10ml)
80 g raspberry jam
50g fresh raspberries, mashed

Egg white batter
4 egg whites
75 g caster sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Method
1) In a sauce pot, add butter & milk over Low heat. Cook till butter is melted and begins to bubble. Add in all of the flour, stir quickly till combined.
2) Add in lemon juice , raspberry jam & purée. Stir well.
3) Next add in the egg yolks and whisk till well combined. Add vanilla and mix well. 
4) In another mixing bowl, add egg whites, salt and sugar, whisk till stiff peaks. 
5) Gently fold the meringue to the egg yolk batter in 3 separate portions till all is combined. 
6) Pour batter into prepared greased pan that’s lined with parchment. Steam bake in the oven at 150°C for 60-65 mins till tester comes out clean. 
7) Remove from oven after baked and let cool on the rack till cooled. Slice and serve. Enjoy

  • 【Recipe】财神到咯!恭喜发财、财源广进! 💰🍍 God of Fortune has arrived! 
Made Steamed Carrot Cake this morning and decorated it as the God of Fortune 财神爷💰💰💰. Haven’t make this kueh for ages, and it was definitely rewarding when we all get to enjoy this for lunch now. 
My kid commented that this 财神爷has a pimple face🤣 #财神爷

Steam carrot cake (8”by 2.5” round)
520g shredded white carrot
1.5 Chinese sausage, cut into small cubes
6 shiitake, soaked abs sliced thin
8 shallots, peeled and sliced 
3 tbsp dried shrimp, soaked & chopped

200g rice flour
20g wheat starch flour
20g corn flour
650ml chicken stock 
Seasoning 
1/2 tsp white pepper 
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp chicken powder
1/2 tsp salt 
2 tbsp shallot oil

Method 
1) Bring a pot of water to a boil, then add shredded white carrot in to cook for a couple minutes. Drain and set aside.
2) Pan fry the shallots with 1/4 cup oil till golden brown. Reserve the shallot oil. 
3) Remove half the oil and add in mushrooms, dried shrimp and Chinese sausage in, cook at medium Low heat till aromatic. 
4) Combine rice flour, corn flour and wheat starch. Add in half of the water, plus shallot oil in and mix well. Set aside. 
5) Add daikon into the mushroom mixture and cook for a minute. Add the other half of the water in and stir well. 
6) Now add the rice flour mixture in and shallot oil, stir in slowly. Mixture will thicken. 
7) Grease a steaming tin and spoon the batter in. Steam at high heat for 60-70mins till the kueh is cooked through. 
8) Remove from steamer completely before slicing it, else it’ll mash up! Enjoy!

  • 【Recipe】Took the opportunity to make something cute (& delicious) for the little one. Couldn’t even remember when was the last time I did this 🙈😣#wheremytimego #honeybeesweetsfoodfun 
A couple of piggy onigiri served with broccoli and stir fried beef with leek 牛肉片炒蒜。You can use chicken or pork instead if you like, just that I happen to have some beef tenderloin around. #honeybeecookssimplelunch

Serves 2-3

250g beef tenderloin, sliced
3 garlic cloves, peeled & chopped
3 shallots, peeled & sliced
3 ginger slices 
1 small Chinese leek, sliced & soaked

Marinate
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 heaping tsp cornflour 
Seasoning
1 tbsp Szechuan pepper chilli oil (optional)
1 tsp soy sauce 
1/2 tsp sugar
Thickening mix - 1 tsp cornflour + 2 tbsp water

Method
1) Mix beef and marinate ingredients together and let sit for 15 mins.
2) In a wok, add oil over Low heat, follow by garlic and ginger. Cook till fragrant.
3) Add In marinated beef and cook for 3-4 mins, then add in seasoning, chilli and leek. Toss well.
4) Don’t overcook beef, quickly add in thickening mix, give it a minute more and dish up immediately. Serve while still hot. Enjoy!

180g cake or plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
40g caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
200ml fresh milk 
70g ready to eat beetroot -blend it with additional 30 ml fresh milk till smooth

Method
1) In a mixing bowl, sift in flour, and all the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Alternatively you can blend everything till smooth.
2) Preheat non stick pan, no butter needed as it’ll make bubbly spots on the pancakes. 
3)Ladle the pancake batter on the pan and cook at low heat till the surface starts to bubble a little. Flip! 
4) Repeat till all the batter is used up. Serve as is or with maple syrup. Enjoy!

  • Merry Christmas everyone 🤗圣诞节快乐🎁🎄
【Recipe】This year’s Christmas breakfast was an edible Christmas tree made from pancake balls. Used my own recipe for the basic pancake batter and filled them with ham and cheese. 
Stacked carefully with spreadable cream cheese (to make it look like snow). A little slanted 😂 but that didn’t affect the taste of course. 
We were plucking the balls off the “tree” to enjoy the pancakes. It was actually quite fun!

250g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp salt
50g powder sugar
1 large egg 
200ml fresh milk
50ml water
1 tsp vanilla extract
100g Greek yogurt 
30g melted butter

1) Combined everything together or blend till smooth. 
2) You can use it to make normal pancake or use an ebelskiver pan to make pancake balls, filled with your desired filling. 
3) Repeat till all batter is used. Serve while still warm. Enjoy! ————————————————

Based on the book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” by Dr. Seuss, this movie shows how the grump and his loyal dog, Max, hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos' holiday cheer. 
Can’t wait to catch the premier today and find out how Grinch stole Christmas and all the hilarious things that happened along the way. And how Grinch finally found what he really needs and gave Christmas back.

  • 【Recipe】Gonna be crazy busy these couple days leading to weekend😣. Hanging in there and hope everything goes smoothly. Wish me luck!

Finally sharing this chocolate pull-apart buns. Filled with big plum raisins that’s been soaked in homemade vanilla extract.

Chocolate banana bread (makes a 8”x8” square tray)

450g bread flour
90g banana
150g Greek yogurt
50g melted chocolate
180ml fresh milk
35g caster sugar
5g salt
5g instant active yeast 
25g room temp butter

Method:
1) Place all the ingredients in the mixing bowl except butter. Start to knead till it comes together into a soft pliable dough.
2) Continue to knead till the dough pulls clean from the side of the bowl. Remember to let dough rest between kneads. Add in butter and knead till it pulls cleans again. 
3) Place dough in greased bowl till it triple in volume. Punch out air and divide dough. I took out 150g dough and the rest is divide equally into 16 portions. 
4)The 16 small portions are rolled, filled with some raisins and placed in baking tin that’s greased. The 150g dough is divided and rolled to form the doggy snouts. 
5)Let both proof till doubled and filled the tin. 
6) Preheat oven to 170°C and bake for 28-30 mins for pull apart buns. 
7) Remove from oven and pan and cool on rack before decorating with melted chocolate to draw the faces. Enjoy!

  • 【Recipe】More Halloween fun at home with 🎃 pizza and 🎃 curried pumpkin cream soup. #verypumpkin

These are not entirely just for Halloween of course, pumpkins are great for Fall/Autumn recipes. 
Using the same pumpkin bread recipe as the “Monster” buns this morning, I must say this recipe is pretty versatile and delicious too! #又见老王🙄 #很推荐哦😉 
The pizza dough is topped with homemade marinara sauce, generous amount of sliced roasted honey ham, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, baked till golden brown and bubbly. 
The sides of the pizza is stuffed with cheddar cubes for extra cheesiness🍕🧀 #honeybeecookssimpledinner

That curried pumpkin soup is really yummy too. Will share the recipe soon!

35g caster sugar 
5g salt
5g instant active yeast 
200ml fresh milk
30g butter, room temp

Method
1) In the mixing bowl, add all the ingredients in except the butter. Knead till it comes together in to a pliable dough.
2) Continue to knead till the dough pulls clean from the side of the mixing bowl. 
3) Add in the butter and knead again till it once again pulls clean from the sides.
4) Let dough proof in a greased bowl till doubled in size. 
5) Punch out the air, and shape the dough to a flat disc. Then snip the sides and stuff with cheese if desired.
6) Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 10 mins.
7) Remove and add marinara sauce and other toppings. Bake again at 180°C for 12-15 mins till golden and bubbly. Enjoy!

  • 【Recipe】Told myself I’m gonna sleep late and take it easy this morning. And then I woke up at 6am🙄 #搞什么

Did my usual recipe reads and then got in the kitchen to make breakfast for the kids. Bread and spreads today 😂 #honeybeeweekendbreakfast

Drew the chick and one of its piggy friend on my home baked brioche bread. Used my homemade lemon curd and strawberry jam flavoured cream cheese to doodle.

Also made baked eggs! Filled with bacon-fat sautéed potato chunks, spinach, cream, cheeses and an egg. Baked till the eggs just set and then serve it bubbly hot with crispy bacon🥓 strip😋 #honeybeeweekendmeals 
Just something different from their boring boiled eggs. You can catch me making these in my IG stories. Note that you can swap the ingredients of your preference, like ham, mushrooms, chopped tomatoes etc. Have fun!

Baked eggs (serves 2)
2 large organic eggs
1 potato, peeled and cut small
2 bacon strips, pan fried till crisp, reserve fat for later
1 small handful spinach, washed 
4 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp cooking cream
4 tbsp fresh milk

Seasoning
Salt, pepper and garlic powder

Method
1) Boil the potato chunk for 5 mins till just cooked. Dap dry and pan fry them in bacon fat till crisp. Divide them in the 2ramekins 
2) Sauté the spinach and drain away excess liquid. Roughly chop it and divide them equally into the 2 ramekins. 
3) Add 1 tbsp cream and 2 tbsp milk in each ramekin, then season it well. 
4) Finally add the cheeses and eggs. Sprinkle some more salt and pepper. 
5) Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15-16mins till the egg yolk almost set and it’s bubbly. 
6) Remove from oven and let cool slightly and serve with bacon strips. Enjoy!

    4 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese
    2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
    2 tbsp cooking cream
    4 tbsp fresh milk

    Seasoning
    Salt, pepper and garlic powder

    Method
    1) Boil the potato chunk for 5 mins till just cooked. Dap dry and pan fry them in bacon fat till crisp. Divide them in the 2ramekins
    2) Sauté the spinach and drain away excess liquid. Roughly chop it and divide them equally into the 2 ramekins.
    3) Add 1 tbsp cream and 2 tbsp milk in each ramekin, then season it well.
    4) Finally add the cheeses and eggs. Sprinkle some more salt and pepper.
    5) Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15-16mins till the egg yolk almost set and it’s bubbly.
    6) Remove from oven and let cool slightly and serve with bacon strips. Enjoy!
