  • Who's ranking do you agree with more? Is this the right order?

For more like this follow @talkinghockey

Jordan kyrou and Dominik Bokk clearly lead the pack for St Louis, while Husso has fallen quite a bit from where I would have had him last year. St Louis has one of the better prospect pools in the NHL but has decreased in quality somewhat because many have graduated including Thomas and Binnington.

This was made in collaboration with @stlbluesupdates

  • Key metrics ahead of today's @IIHFHockey World Championship Gold Medal game between @hockeycanada and @leijonatfi . All metrics are based on 2019 World Championship data from Semi-finals matchups.
A key offensive threat for the Canadians is Pierre Luc-Dubois who had an outstanding semi-final game. For the Fins, Marko Anttila will be a key component if they expect to upset the Canadians.
On defense, Thomas Chabot will be key for the Canadians and Henri Jokiharju will be key for the Fins.

  • 🚨Drive Wide🔥
Mantha utilizes an outside inside high speed crossover to beat the defenceman 💥. If you are coming in against the defence with a speed advantage, you don’t always need to pull a fancy move to get by them!
Swipe ⬅️ for a drill on high speed crossovers to practice this 😎
To do the drill, set up three cones: one on each blue line and one on the centre line. Start from the goal line and skate as fast as you can to the first cone. As you weave through the cones try and maintain and gain more speed 🙌.

  • From a common sense perspective, it makes sense that focusing on hockey should be the main focus. However, before a hockey player became a hockey player, it all started as developing skills and habits as a human being, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once choosing the game of hockey, the game itself is beyond enjoyable. .

BUT! Make no mistake, it is stressful for the body. Constantly putting the body through high amounts of lactic acid happens when the body is put through high amounts of stress. It's apart of the game. .

Now the body needs to prepare itself and adapt in order to compete at its best. However, if not properly supported with 'Off Ice' stress reduction, then a player can feel fatigue and reduce their ability to perform well. Hence the difficulty of players relaxing before bed time. They can be EXHAUSTED and RESTLESS at the same time. .

When players emphasize 'On Ice' without supportive 'Off Ice' support, they are missing a valuable asset to their success. At first, developing an 'Off Ice' focus can take patience to find the right individual routine and see the results grow. Just like developing a new skill.
.

As Will Smith says, "Skill comes from hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft."
.

Imagine if a player is becoming fatigued and has trouble sleeping, and therefore wake up tired, then do they need to focus on their 'On Ice Skills' more? Or focus on a NEW SKILL? .

If a player gets their OFF ICE SUPPORT right, then magic can happen from doing less on the ice.🔥🔥🔥
