  • #mealprep - Made enough for about two days lunches for the hubs and I and some school snacks for the kids. ✅ From left to right: zucchini noodles (because zuke noodles are life), fresh olives, ground chicken and vegetables (I didn’t add sauce so I can change the flavours up throughout meals - tonight I’m using some for stuffed eggplants 😋), boiled eggs, celery sticks and cherries tomatoes, more ground chicken, homemade plum jam and chia seed yoghurt, spicy chilli sweet potatoes, homemade roasted plum jam (sweetened with honey), cucumber slices, chilli and rosemary mushrooms, banana and coconut crumbs (for desserts or on top of plum jam). Confession: The coconut crumbs were supposed to be pancakes 😬 but they didn’t work out so plan b was crumbs for dessert and the rest is currently being turned into some sort of roasted plum and coconut cake-y thing (if it works)! Sludgey dessert is always yum with ice cream though so either way 🤷‍♀️ haha. Also, I may not be instagrams best egg peeler but I think I win a prize for cleanest meal prepper 😂 Check out my stories for a BTS of my insanely clean meal prep session - I must be getting sick 😂

  • I choose to live in a big city. I like the metropolitan atmosphere, to have a big choice of cool things to do, to live in the center close to cafes and little shops, to be with human beings from all over the world and to have a base where I can reach other destinations easily. But I need my dose of nature regularly! .
For inspiration, for connection, for growth, for self-love, for healing and balance. I know, all this is available anywhere and anytime. But I believe there is a secret knowledge in plants, trees, flowers, rivers or even insects. By just observing the natural environment and being in it you get a better understanding of everything. ☺️ So I am just planing my next short trip to walk barefoot again somewhere in this beautiful world. Let’s see 🌱

  • for the first time in my life, i woke up to my body feeling strong.. the aches from pushing my body in the previous weeks had paid off and the results are starting to show without having to flex

i used to not be consistent and gave up easily because of the pain. i would give myself excuses such as not having the right equipments, that i’m traveling, that i’m too tired, that whatever i was doing was already good enough
.
to those who have been asking me how to keep at exercising, there are no shortcuts. there will be pain and aches especially for the first two weeks but that is when you have to continue moving and working through the pain
.
it is when you move through your muscle aches that it starts to stop aching. it sounds counterintuitive, but it works (unless you sprained or twisted something as you can see with my left wrist)
.
eating right is also key. i’ve found that diets do not work but genetics play a role too. it is simply from eating clean, eating more vegetables and fruits, and to not deprive myself of the things i like, but rather have them in moderation
.

  • I've started a 30 day plank challenge, it's a free app and seems like it'll be a lots of fun. Part of the reason I'm posting here is for accountability, I know that part of things can be tough for any individual (including myself)! If you're looking for something to do at home, this is perfect!! It's a free app and has 3 levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced! The intermediate level is tough enough to stay interesting but not so ridiculous that I won't feel like doing it in the morning, I highly recommend giving it a shot, what have you got to lose? IT'S FREE AND BENEFICIAL!!

  • The weekends is not an excuse to slack off on your training, or not bettering you for tomorrow! My bro Dez had absolutely zero knowledge on how to defend him self and look at him now! 🔥

Wanting to find a different fitness routine, @dezvu gave me a call to put together our sessions on a Sunday. His purpose was to lean out, but another aspect was to defend himself properly.
.
Here we have me as the aggressor, and having Dez pinpoint when to shoot his power side cross. You cannot just throw a punch and hope it lands. You’ll waste resourceful energy that can prove fatal if having to defend yourself. Dez by far has the most power I’ve ever felt, and that lead hand to post is his bread and butter. Glad to have you on this movement Dez!

  • Y’all, I made it out to a badass yoga flow class again this afternoon!!! For the third Sunday in a row. ✨✨✨

My body and mind are feeling it. I never fully recovered after Mave’s birth + I haven’t been great with self care. 🙋🏼‍♀️
I haven’t been out for dinner, glass of wine, walk, anything with a mama friend, solo in over 3 years. How, right?! I’m just not the mom that was insistent on getting out alone and breastfeeding complicated this for sure.
And when you’re suffering from c-ptsd i.e. moments of depression, your focus in surviving not thriving and doing your best for you kids. (Clearly a house fire only made this worse). I’m only now understanding how focusing on myself in bits & time away are critical and worth it for everyone (daddy included because his bonding with my hyper attached daughter has been incredible).
So, to all the mamas that do the best for their kids + themselves, you are my heros. I’m getting there— I mean, I had a haircut today too (Mave was in my lap for the last one 🤦🏼‍♀️), I’m using masks, setting space boundaries at home... and it makes the moments with these two heartbreaks 👦🏼👧🏼💖 even better.
