My last brunch before heading back to work tomorrow after a couple of weeks off!
I would be lying if i said I wasn’t ready to get back into my usual routine and focus on work again.
The last 2 weeks have actually been a bit of a struggle but I will get into that more on my next YouTube vlog.
For now it’s time for coffee before going to train legs!
Did you know nutrition warehouse also do apparel? I’m wearing the classic muscle t-shirt. Spend over $50 and get free shopping until midnight tonight 🙌

  • WANNA LOSE WEIGHT?
STEP 13: GET SCARED!
.

I know it is 😳surprising, but YES, it is true!
Last night, we went to watch the movie – “THE CURSE OF THE WEEPING WOMAN” & the excitement made me think about its effects on our health especially our weight!
.

Watching a horror 😯movie leads to an increase in a hormone – ‘ADRENALINE’ This Adrenaline produced during short bursts of intense stress (in this case - fear) lowers the appetite, increases the BMR and ultimately burns a higher level of calories.
.

A study from the “University of Westminster” suggests that watching scary movies can actually help you burn calories ‘provided you are not 🍿 snacking’ throughout the film!
.

According to the research, the top 5 scary movies for calorie burn:
1. The Shining: 184 calories
2. Jaws: 161 calories
3. The Exorcist: 158 calories
4. Alien: 152 calories
5. Saw: 133 calories
.
There are more benefits than just weight loss – a separate study published by the “US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health” revealed that watching horror also causes the body to release more white blood cells, linked to the body’s fight 🥊 or flight response, Boosting the Immune Functioning!
.
MY HEALTHY ADVICE
.
1.	HORROR MOVIE IS NOT A REPLACEMENT TO EXERCISE -
90 MIN SCARY MOVIE = 30 MIN WALK 🚶🏻‍♂️
Scary films can burn off the same number of calories as a 30min walk. NO NO, I am not advising to skip that - ‘Walk’.
.

2.	HORROR MOVIES & SIDE EFFECTS – Every individual reacts differently. One of the most noticeable side-effects are sleeplessness, anxiety, creating new fears; long-term & dangerous effects include, “paranoia, irrational fears, interest in the paranormal or demonology”, things that aren’t psychologically healthy for the mind.
.

3.	ARE YOU HAVING HEART PROBLEMS? -
People with preexisting conditions or heart problems should avoid watching Horror Movies as it increases your heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow to muscles.
.

If a person experiences negative conditions after watching horror movies, then they should stay away. The negative effects could lead to something more significant and dangerous.

  • PROTECT YOUR LIVER with CoQ10! 🤗 The liver plays the role of detoxifier and excreter of destructive agents against body intoxication. It’s been achieved in clinical studies that CoQ10 by its anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic effects can have a therapeutic role in #acetaminophen hepatotoxicity as well as metabolic-stress-induced liver damage (that’s you, athletes!) 🏋️‍♀️💯
—
So skip the “liver #detox juice cleanse” 🤮 you saw on #Pinterest and use #CoQ10 (just 1 soft gel a day!) to provide your liver the nutrients it actually wants, keeping it healthy and functioning at optimal levels.
Other notable benefits include Co-Enzyme Q10’s ability to:
▪️provide energy to cells
▪️act as an antioxidant
▪️improve cardiovascular health ♥️

CoQ10 is available for purchase from Swolverine on our website or on @amazon. Get yours today!

  • I’ve always loved the beach. It’s a place that resonates with my soul.
When I was young, my parents went through a bitter divorce. Through it all, my mom was so strong. She’d distract us with little trips down to beach. We’d fly kites and build sandcastles. On that beach we found so much joy during such a dark time.
This weekend I realized that I had lost that sense of wonder somewhere along the way. I had started focusing on my body and my swimsuit. I played the comparison game. If only I looked like that girl in my swimsuit but then I realized that maybe someone else was looking at me thinking the same thing.

It’s been a long journey and it’s not over yet but I’m learning to embrace my body and give it all the love and confidence it deserves 💗

  • Your average B.B. Squats are probably my most hated exercise. Not because I can’t be bothered doing them. It’s because of the pure fact that there needs so much correction and my frame doesn’t seem to be too set up for it. Instead I’m a huge fan of the hack squat variations as it doesn’t have so much of a detrimental effect on my back during my sessions that result in my lying on the floor in fucking agony in between sets. I’d be really keen on doing them one day and learning them by fixing all my screw ups in the movement (which @dan_teamecto helped point out and those that know what their looking at can see in this photo) But for now it’s not needed in my programming.
-
-
The whole point of this post is that. There is ALWAYS variations to exercises. If something just doesn’t feel right then there’s always another way to do it. 👌🏻
-
-
On another note. Training/Eating is feeling awesome at the moment and enjoying every second. Full steam ahead. @dan_teamecto got me working hard 😁

  • ⚠️Here’s something to clear your mind and get prepared for your next week...If you’ve ever been curious about mindfulness and meditation, managing stress and anxiety or serious about recovery from physical activity including pain, or if you just want the best nap of your life this is an absolute must try.
•
I personally started floating to take my meditation practice to the next level and to gain secondary benefits of recovery from my workouts.
•
Its surreal when you experience what your mind is capable of when all external stimuli are shut off. When you float perfectly suspended in 10 inches of water, there’s 0️⃣ external pressure causing your muscles to have to turn on and work, and when you close the lid down on the pod into total darkness there’s nothing for your eyes to see either. I let my ears go just below the surface of the water and all I could hear was my breath and heartbeat. An hour later and you have an entirely new take on your surroundings❗️
•
For the last float I did I was very much in a theta brain wave state, usually synonymous with a vivid dream/imagery state. There were times where it was difficult to even tell whether I was awake or asleep🧠
•
Next time I might experiment with some music playing to explore more of an alpha state for focus and creativity which I’m really looking forward to trying.
•
I topped it off with an oxygen therapy for 10ish minutes, breathing in 95% oxygen with a 5% blend of essential oils.
•
It’s super cool, and I urge you to give it a try for something new to add to your wellness routine👍🏼
•
PS: Don’t get the water in your eyes 👀 ...it stings real bad

👇
Because we as humans have an inherent need to remain consistent. 👇
So - if you’re serious about self-improvement and being the best that you can possibly be, give us your commitments for this week below 👇

  • Today was such a special day. I used to absolutely hate to sweat or challenge myself to do anything that might be remotely difficult. The past few years I have developed such a love and passion for the outdoors, health & fitness and pushing myself to limits I didn’t know I could reach.
Today I climbed a mountain with an elevation of 5,000 feet, total of 8 miles, mostly uphill, and very steep at that. I am SO extremely grateful that God has transformed me and given me an appreciation for the body and health He has blessed me with. I am motivated to better myself every single day and for it to be an improvement from the day before. I’m also so grateful for the genuine friendships He has placed in my life, and doing this hike with you @snhallam was such an accomplishment! Not a typical Easter for either of us, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way this year. I hope y’all had a Happy Easter, I know I did! 🙏🥰

.

.
Macros planned, workout written, time to crush the next 8 weeks
.
.
Why? Bc I’ll be in my 30s and at the beach. I want to feel my best and not some sluggish blob! .

Here we go💪🏼

  • How many times have you said “I can’t”? It’s a pet hate of ours. Your ability to do or not do something comes down to your mindset.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You were once a baby that was unable to walk, unable to feed yourself, unable to physically sit up. But you learnt to! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If as a child you said I can’t and give up or quit like you do as an adult you would not survive. You would never learn to walk, never learn to feed yourself, never learn to move. But you did. You learnt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s time to stop saying “I can’t” and flip your mindset!

  • When it comes to creating confidence and energy to work towards your goals it isn’t just about moving forwards, it’s about not letting little things distract you and hold you back! 🌟 If you don’t go after it , you will never have it. 🌟Stop thinking so much and start taking action. 🌟Never compare yourself to others. Only focus on the things that matter. 🌟Manage your energy , not just your time. Pay attention to where your energy goes! 🌟Commit to the process , learn to love the little steps along the way that need to be taken to reach your goal.
Use every Monday to show up, do your best and keep building momentum. 💗
