Ingredients⁣
- 3 cups of kidney beans, 𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝟾𝘩𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵⁣
- 7 cups of water⁣
- 2 tbs of cooking oil⁣
- 6 bay leaves⁣
- 2 medium sized potatoes, 𝘤𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴⁣
- 3 carrots, 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘬𝘴⁣
- 1/2 tsp of cumin⁣
- 2 tsp of turmeric⁣
- 1 tsp of garlic powder⁣
- Salt/Pepper to taste⁣
⁣.
Instructions⁣
1. Once your beans are soaked overnight, rinse your beans well.⁣
2. Add the beans, water, cooking oil and bay leaves in a slow cooker on high.⁣
3. After 3 hours in the slow cooker, add potatoes, carrots, cumin, turmeric, garlic powder, and salt/pepper.⁣
4. Cook for another 4 hours.⁣
5. Enjoy with some cooked rice

  • Si tu objetivo es mejorar nuestra masa muscular, no hay ninguna duda: trabajaremos el cardio después de la fuerza. Éstas son las principales razones:

Para obtener resultados positivos en el trabajo de musculación debemos entrenar a una intensidad media o alta, y eso no podemos hacerlo si nuestros niveles de glucógeno han descendido debido al entrenamiento de cardio. Además si por esta misma razón acabamos con el glucógeno, tendremos que utilizar las cadenas de aminoácidos de las proteínas del músculo y en vez de construir, destruiremos músculo.

Si nuestro objetivo es la pérdida de grasa, sin importar en absoluto la masa muscular, podemos cambiar el orden y hacer primero el cardio.  #trainning

Woke up today feeling so grateful & excited for all that is happening & for all that is to come! Yesterday afternoon, I caught up with @bun_undone and got a much needed sweat in! Cultivating friendships & relationships with like-minded people, who are taking the seemingly “non-traditional” path like me, leaves me so inspired & grateful.

I’ve been so amazed by the wellness community here in Chicago. These gals are incredible & always so kind and willing to offer up advice and support for one another. 💕

Starting this week with the intention of continuing to put myself out there, to growing my tribe & to building each other up. You never know where you just might make a friend! 🥰 wishing you all an awesome week!

  • VEGGIE SANDWICH ✨It was been a hot minute since I last shared a veggie sandwich with you, which is strange because I seriously eat them allll the time. There are a few components I like to think about when making a sandwich to make sure it’s delicious, filling + nutritious 🙌🏼 1. Whole wheat bread- particularly, I try to look for bread that has at least 4g of both fibre and protein per slice 2. Loaded with allll the veggies I have lurking around my fridge 3. A source of protein! This could be mashed chickpeas, garlic tofu, tempeh, or hummus 4. A source of fat- usually avocado or olives 5. Anything else I want for flavor! I usually add vegan mayo + mustard, but add whatever you like best! ✨.

This particular sandwich has hummus, avocado, arugula, red pepper, red onion + grated carrot 🍂
