I wanted the meigancai bun, but it was out. I had to deal with the only type of meat bun there, which I wasn't in favor for.

Lots of flour, little stuffings and you can tell it was there sitting for awhile. The flavor of the chashu was completely fine, but a bit too salty.

  • Fishball Noodles!!!! ❤️😍👍 This stall at Tiong Bahru Hawker Centre serves up QQ meepok (singaporean fettuccine hahaha) and very bouncy fishballs. But I think what makes me really sit up in my seat is this splendiferous chili sauce. Like waaaah. When the lady poured the sauce over cos I told her I needed more chili, I was a little surprised and hesitant. The sauce is reminiscent of the brownish sweet gravy consumed with yong tau foo. But no, it actually is chili sauce! And it’s a chili paste like no other! It’s not technically very spicy but it’s certainly strong in flavour. It’s hard to explain. Hahaha! In any case, I’ll be back for more! It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at TBHC!

It’s a place that always has me trying new things like this carrot cake pictured above. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yup, this is carrot cake. Not your typical carrot cake, right? 🤯

It’s made of a mixture of white radish (which is sometimes called white carrot) and rice flour that’s chopped up and fried with garlic, eggs, and preserved radish.

You can get both ▫️white and ▪️black versions - black will have the addition of a sweet dark soya sauce that makes it a bit crispier due to the caramelization of the sugars in the sauce. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
