  • Habakkuk
~
Habakkuk questions God about how He could tolerate evil and not punish it. God responds saying He is already answering... that He is doing something Habakkuk wouldn’t believe (bring in Babylon to punish Judah). Then Habakkuk is upset because God is using an evil nation to punish a less evil Judah. God responds saying “the righteous shall live by his faith.” Meaning, we must trust God! Then God explains how Babylon will be punished for its evils and how He reigns sovereign over all. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk then goes into a prayer of awe and wonder, and realizes that he must have patience for God to carry out His plan. Habakkuk started as one who was confused and upset about God’s supposed negligence, and ends as one who puts his trust in God. ~

  • Our God, the one true God is so great you cannot form Him in your limited hands. God is so great he forms us in His unlimited hands. Therefore, we can do all things - no limit - through Him. It is foolish to idolize in manmade things or people. If we are to idolize something or someone, it should be greater than something we create. #Habakkuk #Idols #God #JesusChrist #OneTrueGod

  • So, I stumbled across an account called @wellwateredwomen and then I realized I didn't stumble, God led me there. My first purchase from their @wellwateredco was the Give Me Jesus journal. I cracked it open yesterday evening and did the beginning heart check and purposed to find a book of the bible and study using my new journal. Well, God led me to Habakkuk, and tonight, I began my venture into studying Habakkuk. This journal was beyond helpful and I can't wait until August when it is restocked to purchase another. When all else seems lost, Jesus is always there. When I wake, give me Jesus. #wordbeforeworld #givemejesus #habakkuk #wellwateredwomen

.
Habakkuk 2:1 (ESV): I will take my stand at my watchpost
and station myself on the tower,
and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.
.
What does it mean to stand at the watchtower and wait for the message I want or need to hear?
How long do I have to keep watch?
What am I suppose to learn as I wait and watch?

  • R E - E V A L U A T I O N ••• Hb 3:19

When the things the prophet Habakkuk counted on started to crumble, he was forced to discern between what's truly important and what's merely temporal. Here's what Habakkuk said: "Though the fig tree does not bud
& there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen & no cattle in the stalls yet I will rejoice in the Lord. The Sovereign Lord is my strength... He enables me to go on"

Habakkuk realized he had no control over certain things. So he chose to control his response by rejoicing in the Lord regardless of what happened & drawing from God the strength to go on. You also have a choice, in spite of all life's stress #ChangeYourResponse and focus on your reasons to rejoice.

  • Wednesday wisdom - There are times that we are waiting on something, a dream to be realized, a goal to be accomplished and we get discouraged because it is taking a long time. We start to believe that it has been denied. Today I'm here to encourage you that it has only been delayed, not denied, it will happen, just later than you wanted. I also want to encourage you that it will happen in the right time, the delay is giving you time to prep for the abundance, so that when it comes, not only will you be ready but you will thrive. Today I want to encourage you, don't get impatient while waiting, just remember delayed, not denied, it shall and will come to pass. And if you're searching for some spiritual guidance see Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.

Господе, чух реч Твоју,
и уплаших се; Господе,
дело своје усред година сачувај у животу,
усред година објави га,
у гневу сети се милости.

  • We have been riding an emotional rollercoaster lately regarding our plans for the future. Things look promising until they don't, we get our hopes set on resolution only for it not to come.
•
You've probably heard me talk about how years spent living as a foreigner in Bosnia and Hercegovina taught us not to get our hopes up. If your hopes got dashed it was your fault for getting them up in the first place.
•
It's been a theme for me this year, working through learning to hope in things again. The big things and the small things. And when things don't go my way I am tempted to shut down that hoping muscle I've been tentatively exercising again.
•
I don't know why I tell you this, maybe to keep me accountable in not losing heart. But it felt like maybe you needed to hear a piece of mine. 🤷🏻‍♀️
•
" Though the fig tree should not blossom,  nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail  and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold  and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;  I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;  he makes my feet like the deer's;  he makes me tread on my high places." -Habakkuk 3:16-19

So many things can feel barren, like wandering through a wasteland, like carrying burdens a thousand times your weight. It can be grief, sadness, sorrow. It can be relationships, finances, the future ahead. It can be anything and everything. And it leaves you feeling empty along with the piercing pain it brings. Who can rejoice in that? I find myself sinking in terrible sorrow and uncertainty and often, it takes it time with me. The ache, the heart, the processing seems unbearable. Yet after, after when I seek Him, with all my brokenness and anguish, all my hurt, my fears and losses, I see it there. His light. I still must walk this valley. There are still barren trees, and a hunger to be filled with restoration. Yet, the sun still rises, bringing its warmth and light. Bringing its glory. That is the rejoicing in the Lord. It’s in who He is. It’s what He brings to sink deep within my bones, into my soul. “God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places...” Habakkuk‬ ‭3:19‬ That’s the promise. He is bringing me to the high places, through transformation and by His strength. The journey continues...🌞#fourwolvesco #habakkuk #figtree #barren #glory #grieflovehope #honeyandbitter #prayer

  • It has been the cry of my heart for the past 5 years since my dad passed away, through Caroline's diagnosis, Mike's cardiac arrest, and the journey since. Today, my friend @lynncowell mentioned this print on @proverbs31ministries and I cried because she wrote that post for me. I'm wrestling deep. Reaching for God who has been reaching for me non-stop. Ever loving. Always present. Fully able to restore. I will worship Him no matter what. • November 7th. Raw writing. 📝
•
Sometimes a song comes more easily, but usually it takes a bit of polishing to feel great about a lyric and melody. Not sure about this one—it’s pretty raw, but I think it’s somewhere in between.
•
I’ve been reading in a book in the Bible called Habakkuk along with my wife and a group of close friends. The prophet is laying out his complaints about the way things are and asking God some hard questions. But after his honest rant, he says, “The sovereign hand of God is doing something here… I’ll accept whatever he is doing, as difficult as that may be for me.”
•
I want to have that kind of honesty with God. And even more so, I want that kind of faith. So when things don’t go the way I think they should, I can still say, “You’re doing something here.”

Brothers and sisters, choosing to praise isn’t always easy, but man, is it important. It draws our hearts closer to Christ and helps us appreciate all the blessings He has provided. If I can encourage you today, it's to lift your hands up and praise our faithful Lord.
