  • This is what this mornings sunrise looked like, if I had taken the photo, whilst I practiced Qigong and being mindful. As it was, I stuck to the rules and left my phone in my room (this one borrowed from some other kind soul on insta). Thank you to the beautiful generous people who gifted me this weekend of luxurious time. I feel refreshed, cleansed and reenergized #grateful #gwinganna 
Also I am now ready for Tobi who arrives tomorrow 🐶

    Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat

    This is what this mornings sunrise looked like, if I had taken the photo, whilst I practiced Qigong and being mindful.   • I have had a truly transformative Gwinganna day, so that deserves celebrating with a sunset soak in my villa plunge pool.  Hell yes it does.  The day started with a joint mobility class with @ellicedegiovanni - I have never done anything like it before. Instead of stretching muscles you are bending and flexing your joints and MAN it felt good. Then a spot of deep water running, a health lecture and then a man-bunned maestro called Josh gave me the best physio/massage I’ve had in my life. He really focussed on my neck and shoulders and it bloody hurt, but then it didn’t, like really didn’t.  My shoulder was pain free and my fingers no longer had pins and needles. It only lasted an hour or so but it has given me hope that I can fix this thing without surgery.  I won’t lie but I’ve cried a few times since I arrived yesterday but this afternoon the sobs were relief not despair. Now I’m off to have a hot bath with magnesium salts then quick dinner and straight to bed to read a book (with a hot water bottle for my shoulder which worked a treat last night - so much better than a hot wheat pack) This slowing down business is niiiiice. Already planning on ways to implement it into my life when I get home. If I go home... I’ll keep you posted!  #gwinganna #heaven

    Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat

    I have had a truly transformative Gwinganna day, so that deserves celebrating with a sunset soak in my villa plunge pool. Hell yes it does. This week is the first time in over a year where I have truely felt fit and full of energy during my PT sessions, and holy moly they’ve been tough!! ⠀

How great it is to kick goals, I’m down 21cm since January and I feel so healthy and well. My skin is looking incredible (even better after the facial) and I have so much energy throughout my day. ⠀

I am loving life and all its challenges and rewards.⠀

  • Just like that, the first semester of uni is done and dusted 👋🏼 Beyond everything I learned this semester in class, moving out of home and living in a hall of residence has made me realise how important the concept of flexibility is when it comes to my own health. ⁣
⁣
I’ve learned that what’s @goodforcharlie (😉) now is different to what it was when I was living at home, and that’s absolutely ok. I really value the energy I receive from spending time with people, but also I need to give myself time to chill out on my own. I’ve realised that it’s no use holding on to habits that I feel like I ‘have’ to do because they worked for me in the past (like waking up at the crack of dawn when I just don’t have the desire to at the moment 😴😂)⁣

I’m off to Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat for a week and am then heading back home, am looking forward to a few weeks of chill time and to get content written for my forgotten blog 😅 I’ve literally got a list on my phone of posts to write so stay tuned 💗 See you in a week! ⁣

  • Hello! I’m back from my #gwinganna health retreat and wanted to share what my face looks like after 5 nights off the grid! 😂 I hope to be looking this relaxed for at least another 24 hours and then I’m sure kid wrangling and returning to work might make me look a little less serene 😜 But I do plan to bring some of what I’ve been reminded of while on retreat back into daily life again.....you know....like waaay more pauses and breaks in the day, a bit more mindfulness, less sugar binges and less caring about trying to control what’s going on around me and just letting it all unfold. I hope you have something that you are working towards to be less stressed in your life because it really is the biggest destroyer of all aspects of our health. 
Ok, that’s it from the newly minted zen master and I shall return with a few more tidbits soon! 
Ps. Extra pics are of the sunrise I saw each morning during early morning Chi Gong, the peacock that struts his stuff around this heavenly place all day, the pool and my lovely room with outside bath which I soaked in each night while looking at the stars 🌟💫

  • This is the face of a girl who is finally listening to her body and slowing down. I have been putting up with intense shoulder and elbow pain plus pins and needles in my fingers for a couple of months. An MRI showed a pinched nerve in my neck. They recommended spinal surgery. I had spinal surgery ten years ago and I want to do anything to avoid them slicing into me again. My physio and doctor said it’s from overworking. I’ve been back to working seven days a week. (You guys know how busy I’ve been) It’s all great work and when you run your own business it’s very hard to say no. But this constant pain is forcing me to stop. I have had three days off in the last fortnight and the pain did lessen. So I’m hoping with physio and rest I can avoid the scalpel. But I was still feeling overwhelmed. My diet has been crap, I’ve been too busy for the gym and I’ve gained weight from shoving sugar in my gob to get the energy to keep going. And if I’m honest I have not been much fun to be around (sorry husband). Then out of the blue Tracy from Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat  contacted me to see if I wanted to come to Queensland for three nights to do their “Winter Wellness” program. I nearly cried. I still feel like crying now. It feels like a gift from the Universe. So I’m here to take stock, breathe deeply and work out how to feel well again.  This is step one... anyone want to join me in slowing down? Let’s do it together. #gwinganna

    Literally feeling shiny and new. A three night break at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat was just what I needed. My neck and shoulder are feeling 50% better (still pins and needles in my fingers but it’s intermittent rather than constant so I call that a win). And my attitude towards my health is 150% better. I loved the people, the food and the spa treatments! (I snored the whole way through my facial - oops!) I really loved trying different types of exercise and have decided to try moving in ways that I love (like dancing and walking) rather than punishing myself. Time to focus on joy!
