  • Costa Rica offers visitors with diverse accommodation offers. Whether you want to stay at a lavish all-inclusive resort or choose to stay at ones which can provide the basics, there is an option for every traveler's taste and budget. You might plan to stay in San Jose, or check out smaller cities near the ocean or even try to explore some off-the-beaten path destinations which are more secluded from the otherwise dense tourist attractions. The smaller hotels feel laid-back and home-like. The environment is inviting and cozy. If you don’t want to worry about anything else, an all-inclusive resort might be the best option for you. Checking out the places to stay will definitely kick off your adventure in Costa Rica! I’d love to help you plan your trip so be sure to pick up the phone and call me or send me an email when you’re ready to start planning.⁣

  • “It’s not that “extreme” but.....”
👆🏽let’s riff on this for a hot minute.
..
2017. It was a viciously hot afternoon in Mui Ne, where Jim and I were sitting in our studio flat, bashing Upwork for screwing up a contract I’d been setting up with a new client. The client had asked me what topics I’d like to write about on his blog. “Anything adrenaline sports, outdoors, travel, or digital nomad related” I’d said. He thought that was pretty cool, but then the gig went down the toilet and nothing came of it. Meanwhile, Jim and i were mulling over what a shame it was that such a website didn’t exist — one where you could punch in the details of the sports you love and the work you do, and the site would throw back suggestions for places to base yourself. “Let’s make it! We could TOTALLY make that ourselves,” said the wildly naive past versions of us who had no idea how much work ACTUALLY goes into running a successful blog 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏼‍♂️ Despite that, we took a running leap at it; bought the ExtremeNomads.life domain, and started working.
..
Two years, 45,000 bottles of red wine, and four countries later, the site is very much alive — but it’s a little different to what we first had planned. We moved away from the digital nomad aspect, we massively restructured how we create/deliver content, and we shifted our focus towards travel. Adventurey, outdoorsy travel. Travel that’s done with the intention of getting stuck into your favourite action sports, getting outside, and experiencing nature in your new destination.
..
So yeah, while we do cover a heeeella lot of categorically extreme AF sports (like paragliding, kitesurfing, and surfing) we also cover things like hiking & nature walks, trekking, and yoga.
..
We’re not into excluding activities because they aren’t ballsy enough. For downing people who prefer a hike in the mountains to a wakeboarding session. We’re into the explorers, the adventurers, the ones who love the outdoors. The ones who have a burn in their belly to experience everything that nature has to offer — be it wind, waves, waterfalls, mountains, or the underwater world. If that’s you, welcome to the tribe. We’re very happy you’re here 🌏🤙🏽

  • I tend to look at this image a lot, it's from a pretty iconic spot, but just one of those moments that felt perfect. Even after multiple trips here, nothing has beaten that feeling of first sight on this location and the memories I created there. The light was also at its best on my first visit with the second time being close, and the third time having zero light. It's a hike I've always had good company with, so there was never a bad trip down there overall. My knees never forgive me, but that's just the price to pay I guess. • There’s a certain joy found in effort isn’t there? That feeling you get when you are absolutely exhausted physically but literally floating inside.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve always found myself called to test my limits... to step into something without fully knowing if I’m capable but trying anyways. There are times where I do, in fact, meet my limits but more often than not I realize I’m more capable than I ever thought possible.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First and foremost I want to say a big thanks for all of you who cheered us on for our big hike yesterday. Nearly 23 miles and 5,600 foot elevation ascent in total making it (by far) my biggest day yet. My hips are sore... My heart is happy... And if there’s one thing I could leave you with it’s this mantra, “You are stronger than you think you are”. Have a great weekend Instagram Family ❤️ (photo by @photograferg)

  • #ad By the looks of my feed, you’d probably never guess I’m a city girl, but I am. I’ve lived in the heart of the city of Seattle for 8+ years now. So it’s always great when I can find versatile pieces of gear and clothing that perform in both environments.
.
I recently had the opportunity to test out the new @Columbia1938 SH/FT Outdry Mid Shoe - a breathable stretch-knit hiker that is designed go from the sidewalk to the trail and back again. Which is great, because that is legitimately my life. Finding a shoe that is as comfy as my favorite pair of sneakers AND is breathable, waterproof and has a super grippy rubber sole is basically gold in my world. But I think my favorite part is the sock-like fit, because for the first time in quite a while I didn’t get any rocks or dirt in my shoe while out hiking.
.
Check out @Columbia1938 to learn more about the SH/FT line! #moveoutsidetheexpected
