  • Night-duty (20:00-08:00), completely tired, but incredibly happy: tonight helped as many as 8 babies (!!!)👶 👍💪to be born !!! Not everything was easy, I even had to operate, but after that it was pleasant to understand an importance of my work !!! I wish everyone to enjoy their work. #obstetrician #physician #goodjobdoc

Sunday - lazy day. Apparently there's only a handful of PTs around and they don't schedule rehab for us normal folk, only the long term patients. So, practically speaking only Monday will be proper rehab day with a PT 🙄. Nevermind, even doing nothing, slowing down feels great #mentalreset for #mentalmonkey 🙈. *

OK, I asked the guy nurse for my report, so here goes. Quick pre-op exam by an assistant: anterior drawer test ++ with a firm endpoint #twopluspositive 😬, posterior drawer test is just one + 😅 #somuchforstability 🙈, I could click-catch my knee on demand and it was enough for the assistant doc to feel it too, pain around the medial meniscus. Working diagnosis from my doc: cyclops syndrome 🙈. *

OR diagnosis: confirms cyclops syndrome and medial meniscus lesion. Procedures: another notchplasty (or he increased the existing one), debridement of the intercondylar fossa #yesihadtogoogleit and not sure about the abbreviation but it looks like a partial meniscectomy on the lateral side. Graft seems to remain in place, I guess it is in good position then. So let's see how this goes 🥺🐵. *

An ortho doc (not mine), comes round, there's not much gunk going out anymore, so out goes the drain 😁. He's quick but doesn't yank at it like the nurse did after my recon 😬 #supersoreallday, it doesn't hurt as much 👍. Also, weirdly, it's not stitched into place, so he doesn't unwrap, just pulls it out 🙄. *

Since there is no PT scheduled I exercise alone 🔺ankle pumps (intermittently all days); 3rounds of🔺20 leg raises 🔺tense quad and holds 🔺heel slides/roll the ball to and fro #mobility I need to keep with 90°. *

Miwi visits in the afternoon so we go for a coffee and a walkie in the park 😘. It feels bloody good to be outside. Knee doesn't hurt, until I drag my leg accidentally #ooopsie. We find a cripple playground with various surfaces to walk on, variety of stairs to climb including a "cut-off" from an old bus 😂 #goodidea! Climbing into an old tram with crutches was nerve wracking the first time 😬. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

  • Woke up with conjunctivitis this morning as a result of leaving my once monthly contacts in for months. #goodjobdoc had planned to do this dressage show before going to Aiken for practice but snow had different plans so ended up having some fun with doc scoring a third place. #stillstruggling with #thelazyness but looking like a much prettier picture overall. Now to work on ivy.

  • Today started off stressful. I was exhausted and kinda down... but one considerate person can change your outlook entirely. One kind person who cares enough to make an effort, makes the world of difference.

It doesn’t matter that he used female pronouns- because as soon as he noticed he apologised and began correcting himself! 👏🏻 It doesn’t matter that he’s never been a part of someone’s medical transition before - because he is willing and eager to learn 🙌🏻 No one needs to know everything, just the compassion and respect to listen and learn ❤️ #goodjobdoc #mademyday #transgender #hrt #worthit
