  • Day 12 | PUBLISH | #HopeWriterLife
-
It’s officially summer for us! Final exams are over and the next 12 weeks stretch out before us. No alarms to set, no homework reminders, no papers to sign and no studying for exams. Space to breathe.
-
Yet as soon as I begin to take that breath, the first wave comes rolling in 🌊 Summer also means a change in routine and more for this working mom to juggle. Each week looks different with a combination of camps, vacation, practices and weeks home. The next waves are already cresting. 🌊🌊
-
My heart wants to enjoy the change of pace, the fun of summer, the time to spend with the kids. Yet my mind is on the edge of anxiety thinking about the juggling and already feeling like I’m not enough.
-
How many other moms resonate with the same feelings here at the beginning of summer? If you, too, could use a few simple reminders to “Tame the Tides,” head over to cgrayce.com [link in profile]! Sign up and receive a free pdf of 3 truths to Set Your Mind & Heart to Rest & Receive!
-
Here at the start of summer, let’s encourage one another to tame the tides before we’re overwhelmed with all the things! May this be a time to rest and receive all that God has for us!

  • It’s been a productive day so far! Cleaned the bathroom, did some laundry, pumped up my bike tyres, cycled into town, went to a yoga class, cycled back, had breakfast and published a blog post (which you can read by clicking the link in my bio!)
Now I am hoping to quickly pack and then make some time for sewing before heading off to travel down to Sussex for a wedding.
Feeling good!

  • God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing. All you need of faith - Joel 2 : 25 🌊
.
.
“ Faith “ complete trust or confidence in someone or something as it is defined by the dictionary, Faith makes everything possible here’s why .
By faith David killed Goliath
By faith the walls of Jericho were broken down
By faith the blind man saw
By faith the woman who bled for 12 years was healed .
.
God can restore everything that is lost and he can restore everything in your life , your relationships , your career and your financial situation anything ! He can restore your broken past , your hurts , your failed relationships , your flaws and your marriage , everything you are so special in his eyes , as the song says " even when the enemy means for evil , God turns it for our good " .
.
Who taught that a shepherd boy would once kill a giant , even his own father and brothers taught that he couldn't , they thought he was so young , he isn't trained but God didn't see what was his appearance was he saw that this little boy had faith in all of Israel .
.
David believed in God and he knew that nothing is impossible with his God ! So yes , Our God is the same God which he served because he is never changing till today and forever everything will be possible with him .
.
.
He's the God of the impossible ! He's the God of miracles and He's your God ! .
.
Have faith and put it into action let's your giants fall apart sling it with faith because nothing it impossible with God ! Remember if there's a Goliath in front of you there's a David in you 🙌🏻

  • The most important question I have ever got on Wednesdays was ‘I am not a Christian but i want to know God’ This community is for everyone, those who believe, those who’s faith has dwindled and those who don’t yet know God. There is nothing more beautiful then someone deciding to meet Jesus.

I hope this question gets asked more and more. I have answered this question on the journal with some steps that you can take to get to know God ✝︎

  • If people never hear then how will they know that a Saviour named Jesus Christ came to earth and died for their sin? He made the way, but if people never know then how can they be saved? It is our responsibility to share the story of Jesus with others! Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price and by the atonement of His blood we can be saved if we only put our faith in Him! ▪️
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

  • @ryanromeo “There is nothing wrong with a little distraction in life. But when we are exhausted/stressed/overwhelmed we need to return to TRUE rest. The world offers us distraction but Jesus offers us rest. The thing our soul is starving for. We will only see true rest when we periodically unplug from distraction and get away with God like Jesus displayed for us. Let’s find our way back to the unforced rhythms of grace.”

  • when i look back at my life, i realise there’s so much to be woeful about, so many things i wish would have turned out differently. but i realise that it is precisely because things panned out the way they did that i’m growing and learning. let me make the conscious effort to be thankful for what i have, all the experiences i went through, and those whom i have encountered, however brief the interactions we had may have been

  • Scrolling through my pictures as I lay here at midnight unable to fall asleep (that’s what happens when you take @starbucks up on their happy hour offer...too much caffeine). .
.
Just realized I never posted this picture of me and my best girl from Mother’s Day. Anyone else feel like this year is absolutely FLYING by?!
.
.
And plus also...she will be TWO in a few months. How in the world did that happen? What in the actual heck?

  • ~Meditation verse~
I was thinking a lot about this verse and what it means to be wise vs foolish. It’s not simply about having a lot of knowledge. The Israelites studied the scripture diligently and still turned their backs on God (foolish). What God is searching for then are those who can carry out His words according to His will (wise). I took the time to reflect and ask myself, in what ways can I become better at putting these words into action?
.
.
If you’re reading this I hope you take the time to reflect on this too. Feel free to share below/DM 💜

‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬ We can’t be happy all the time. I can’t even expect my kids to be happy most of the time.
I’m trying to meet them where they’re at and let them know that are ok, whatever they’re feeling 💕

And I expect the same treatment from them 😆

⠀⁣
Are you worn out?⠀⁣
⠀⁣
This is what God has to say to that:⠀⁣
⠀⁣
“Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I’ll show you how to take a real rest. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
Walk with me,⠀⁣
⠀⁣
And work with me - watch how I do it.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
Keep company with me⠀⁣
⠀⁣
And you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”⠀⁣

  • This song brings me back 10 years ago around this time. I had finished up my second year of college, had a boyfriend I was convinced I was going to marry, and headed out to Las Vegas for a year long internship at a church. I was going to be back in a year and pick right back up where I had left off. I was going to continue at Ozark Christian College, marry that young all American boy and settle back into a comfortable life. This song was our song, the one I thought I perhaps would be our first dance song. .
.
.
Turns out it was a song to signal the end. I didn't go back to Joplin and finish up at OCC, I finished online. I fell in love with working in the inner-city and bringing the love of Jesus into the darkest parts of Vegas. My passion for children's and youth ministry was fueled even more. This was where I wanted to stay. That All American boy and I broke up half way through my internship. A year later I would end up dating the man I now call my husband. The girl with the wide eyes and the chip on her shoulder, the one who thought living in the heart of the Bible belt was a good place to be, became a woman planted to thrive in the desert. I thank God for the journey He placed before me and His faithfulness every step of the way. For all the times I followed my own way and disobeyed, He was always faithful to bring about good for His will and glory. And for every step of obedience and faith I have taken in Him, He has blessed. It has been a beautiful journey and I am so thankful for the memories made and a chance to reflect back and see His hand at work.

  • God is so faithful; He’s been after my heart and let me tell yah... some days I just have to ask Him to “turn it down a notch”. 😩 But as time passes I am rejoicing because I see the fruits of His workin my heart... Gods been telling me that He’s not really interested in just “solving my issues”, He’s more after my heart so I’ve been trying really hard to cut time out for that “quiet time” and spending it with Him. It’s hard and I skip days but I see that Gods been trying to get my attention... and through my hardships, of course.... Here I am, fretting about things I can’t change, when He just wants to sit and commune with me! He doesn’t always just want to be a listening ear and hear me complain about my hardships or read off the list of things I need from Him! I sadly realize that all I’ve been doing is trying to build this “perfect little kingdom of my own, here on earth” or striving to have a perfect marriage. When all I need to do is commune with the Lord, sit quietly with Him, slow down, breath, surrender and He surely will “add all those things to me”. Ahhh... isn’t it great that we GET to just sit with Him?
Lord today help me believe on the promise that if I first seek You first, everything else will come into place. What is a promise that you are believing on for yourself right now?

This crew came out to eat @spicyindianchick today. My dad is in town for a hot second to drop off my two half sisters for the entire summer. Yes...Im the oldest of 8, but then my dad remarried and had 6 more...so technically I am the oldest of 14. So here I am, toting 8 kids around for the summer!

P.S. we have spent the last two days at the beach in the sunshine with no sunscreen. Mistake! Even my shoulders are in tingly mode. Stock up with @beautycounter now, spend $125 and get free sunscreen...clearly something I should do!
  • Love this fam of mine!

  • I don’t post too many pics of myself or my life here. Some people make it work beautifully, but selfies aren’t really my thing. 😆 But once in a while it’s nice to say hi and show the face behind all the Bible verses and quotes! .
I’m Bella, the wife of one husband and the mum of one 7 month old boy. I spend most of my time looking after my bubba and blogging in my spare time. I love those days when I get out to playgroup and Bible study. And very recently I’ve gone back to work one day a week as a special ed teacher! .
I love tea so much I named my blog after it and my heart is for encouraging people in the faith in my own little way! 💕

  • Fruit doesn’t grow in mid-air. Connection produces the fruit. If it is dis-connected, it simply can not grow.
-
Pretty straightforward actually. So why do I think I can produce fruit without connection? I would never say I’m trying to go at it alone - but I do.
-
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John‬ ‭15:5‬
-
It’s easy to let this verse become negative. I always used to read it that way. As a “well I guess I can’t do anything” situation. But it depends what you are focusing on.
-
If I read - “you will bear much fruit,” I am looking at the promise.
-
It’s the presence that produces the fruit. Peace, joy, love, hope, patience. All things I just can’t seem to manufacture on my own.
-
I mean I can...to an extent. But it’s not flowing out of me the way it’s described in The Passion Translation
-
“I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me you are powerless.” John‬ ‭15:5‬ ‭TPT‬‬
-
And that’s the best part about connection. The fruit that streams out...not manufactured...overflow

  • Chances are, you know exactly what that “one act of obedience” is. It’s been heavy on your heart, yet you’ve still been on the fence about it, going back and forth over whether you should take the leap of faith or not. Well, here’s your sign 👉🏽 Do it! That one “yes” could change your life forever 🙌🏽 #faithoverfear

  • Do you know that God speaks through his word? Sure, we can all say that we know the Bible is God’s spoken truth, but how often do we rely on the wisdom of Scripture?⠀
⠀
It is of utmost importance that we fill our minds with His words, not only to better understand His character, but to better understand our dependence on His faithfulness.⠀
⠀
When we lack wisdom, it’s easy to jump to selfish decisions. When we lack understanding, we give way to fear and doubt. ⠀
⠀
So set your mind on things above. Fill your heart with His word that you might know Him, that you might hear Him speak. May His truth guide our lives every step of the way, like a lamp on a darkened path. ⠀
⠀
Seek the Lord and you will find him. Listen and He will speak. ⠀
⠀
Read Psalm 19 today!⠀

  • One week ago we were going to the hospital to be induced at 41 weeks. It wasn’t what we’d thought our delivery would look like - but we prayed and trusted that God’s plan is better than ours. It always is. ⠀
⠀
I still can’t put into words the whole experience. It’s overwhelming to see God’s hand in every part of it. What a beautiful reminder of how closely He wants to walk with us. ⠀
⠀
I had a really hard time coming to terms with induction, because I so badly wanted an intervention-free birth. I was told it would be at least 24 hours before I’d even go into labor, and they didn’t expect me to deliver for two days. ⠀
⠀
The morning of, I had the best time with God. I had this overwhelming peace that this induction was a gift - that He knew better. He knows my planning control-freak heart and that somehow knowing exactly when we’d be going to the hospital would bring us a lot of peace. ⠀
⠀
My biggest prayer was for our birth story to glorify Him. It’s the same prayer I prayed about our wedding - and even though getting married in the pouring rain wasn’t my plan, it was His - and it was the most magical moment of God’s presence and love. ⠀
⠀
Ellie’s birth story is no different. Instead of 2 days of induction and labor and fear of more interventions, we had peace. After 12 hours of contractions 2-3 min apart with no progress, I quickly went from 1 to 8 cm in 3 hours. We were rushed down to Labor and Delivery, which was amazingly quiet at 1 am. My nurses had all delivered naturally and were so encouraging that I could as well. We played worship music in our dimly lit room. Pete prayed over me as I had each contraction. Our midwife barely made it back to the hospital in time, but showed up just as I was ready to push. ⠀
⠀
20 minutes later we welcomed our beautiful, blonde-haired baby girl into our world. I’ve never felt more peace and love before. It’s still hard for me to describe everything about Ellie’s birth... was it painful? Yes. But the pain didn’t diminish the peace. Honestly, it gave me more of it. In that moment, all I could do was trust in Jesus, rely on His strength, and declare His peace. And at the end of it all, He gave us our own little miracle.

  • There’s not much more important than getting into God’s Word for ourselves as believers in Christ.⁣
⁣
I’ve done many Bible studies, attended Christian school growing up where we had to memorize many Bible verses, have gone to church since I was an infant, but nothing has been as personal with the Lord than reading His Word in its entirety.⁣
⁣
His Word is one long story about Him, what He’s like, what He does, how He moves, and about His plan to get us back through His Son. As I have read through I was struck by the importance of fearing Him, that He is certainly loving and gracious but He also demands obedience and He is to be honored.⁣
⁣
It’s more important than ever in a world that is yelling at us so many messages that we know God’s Word for ourselves. It needs to be as important as the air we breathe because without it we will so easily get confused about what truth really is, who we really are.⁣
⁣
The more the enemy can convince us His Word is boring, we don’t understand it, or don’t have time, the more he can render us ineffective.⁣
⁣
There is promise after promise for those who meditate on Gods Word constantly and yet we starve ourselves from it and wonder why we’re weak.⁣
⁣
Let’s fight to know it and Him for ourselves and truly be women of the Word. #Walking reflections⁣

  • Hey girl, God does not love you equally. He loves you uniquely. 🙌🏽⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Don't get familiar with the fact that the Creator of the universe is constantly pursuing you, loving you, and making a way for you. 💚⠀⠀
⠀⠀
You are loved unconditionally. WHOA. What a freeing truth!⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Now there's no need to strive for the love and affection of the world. We've got all the love and affection we need!⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Tag 1 friend to remind them of this truth! 🙏🏽💃🏼⠀⠀

  • Praying that we see all we have has more than enough - this portion, this place, this work, whatever is in front of me - it's good and it is worthy of praise.
