I’ve heard this a bunch from frustrated ladies.  There’s SO MUCH more that goes into how much someone “should/can” eat than what meets the eye.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How much muscle your body has to maintain (BMR), how much you are fidgeting (GAF), even how much you eat (TEF) are all examples that play a role.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because of this it will be easier to stay “fit” if you are already “fit” 🤗. Better start now!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Three things to consider when starting to track Calories and Marcos:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Determining TDEE (like above) it just one factor that will influence your nutrition strategy.  Other factors like your body type, medical history, current calorie intake, etc. will play a role!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Determine calories first, then Macros.  Calories can be used to determine overall energy needs, then macros fine tune those calories to support your goals even further. (Macros include protein, carbs, and fats.)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Consistency!  You can focus in on all of the details all you want, but if you’re only following it half of the week, you’ll be on the hamster wheel!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • The moment we’ve all been waiting for ‼️ As many of you (judging by the number of freaked out dms I got 😅) saw, I posted a not so promising story about this protein the other day. Because it is such a hyped product, I decided to take a few days to really try it before posting my full opinion. 
I’ve tried it a few different ways now and feel like I can confidently review it so here goes nothing: this is not as good as I wanted it to be, not even close. The first day I got it, I attempted my protein pancake and ended up throwing it away. It was terrible. I decided to try it on its own (just with water) and found it marginally better. 
The next day I ditched my whole pancake breakfast and made a smoothie with it, a banana and peanut butter. That is the move. It is delicious! 
However; because of the lack of versatility I probably wouldn’t repurchase 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I am glad I found a use I like so it’s not a total waste!

  • #Mondaymotivation 💪🏻💓👉🏻2 years ago today I started on a fitness journey that would not only lead me to be healthier but to changing who I am as a person. I went in unhealthy, shy, not confident about anything, and wildly unsure of myself and whether or not this would be the time that stuck. Thankfully it did, and in the process I have enjoyed a new Emily that comes with a bit more sass 😏, a lot more laughs and smiles and with a renewed confidence about what she brings to the table. Bodies are weird and weight fluctuates and although the progress has been a bit slower on the physical side, my body is muscled up, trimmed down and much stronger than before! But numbers on the scale aren’t everything - I’ve lifted a BIG 3 combined weight of 790lbs; benched 200lbs; lost 4 pant sizes, have gone on runs in the rain, been to the pool in a 👙 and have reversed naturally a medical diagnosis, which i could not be more thrilled by. @rikard_ekberg and @fitlordliv , thank you for supporting me, coaching me and most importantly putting up with me on the best and worst days. I finally did it. I woke up on time and made it to the gym. I even had time to walk the dogs and finish up making my lunch and wasn’t in a rush to run out the door. Lately I have been waking up last minute, not planning any meals, grabbing whatever was near me, and rushing to work. And tbh, it has taken a toll on my body. I really try not to weigh myself, but I did this weekend out of curiosity and I wasn’t exactly happy with the outcome. I’ve let myself be lazy, and while I truly needed a break from some things, I didn’t need to go all out veg mode and do no physical activity. I’m hoping I can kick my butt back into gear slowly but surely. And this morning was a step in the direction I wanna go. Happy Monday y’all ❤️

It’s so easy to get caught up in life & feel like your constantly on fastfoward so this week let’s all make an active effort to make sure we’re slowing things down and doing things for ourselves! Everyday this week I will be taking at least 15 minutes for ME time ✨ I think this is something we should all be doing! We do so much throughout the week it can be easy to forget about ourselves! So this week - don’t forget to do something for YOU ❤️ whether it be taking the time to pamper yourself, do your nails, read the book you’ve been meaning to read .. do it for you! One small thing a day can really help to boost your mind and give you a more positive mentality ✨

  • Today has been a good day and it's only lunchtime! 💙

I went to Park Run this morn with the intention of bringing home a PB. Not only did I PB, I took over a minute off my best 🥳
.
This was followed closely by perfecting the 'suitcase deadlift' - gotta say, not one of my favourite lifts... But persistence was the key and we got there in the end

  • I love that saying that goes something like - better to have tried than to never have tried at all. It just made me think of all the times Iv quit rather than to hv shown patience. I think that’s so important for us to remember Becuz today I was starting to get so depressed over how much weight Iv gained and worrying if I’ll be able to lose it and reach my goals. I feel so uncomfortable in my skin right now especially Becuz i am constantly bloated. I kno carbs contribute to my bloating. Pretty much anything I eat and water will cause me to bloat. It makes me feel insecure at all times. Cutting out carbs tho does not seem to be the solution tho. Neither does quitting like Iv done so many times in the past. For now I’ll jst keep admiring everyone else’s progress and keep working on my own haha. ps- sorry for the specks on the mirror...it’s glitter 😅 jk but I jst wanna thank @hollyeatright And @mil_gyms for lifting my spirits today. U guys are the best 💙

  • Having the usual this morning🍓 Now that I have started cutting, I have stopped tracking calories and honestly I feel such a burden off my shoulders. I still worry that I’m not hitting my protein goals or that I should be eating more but what I have been doing is making sure all my meals incorporate as much protein as I can add jst to help ease my mind. My body was honestly jst so tired of eating so much from bulking that I felt I needed to jst take it easy even if it meant a huge calorie drop. Iv been feeling jst fine. I kno this isn’t typically recommended but the only thing Iv noticed is that I have been waking up soooo hungry. Everyone is different tho so we all have to learn what works best for us ❤️

The picture from April 9th was when I first decided to change things up health wise and as I continued to research things to see what worked for me, I decided to bulk shortly after on May 2. All I wanted was to finally see changes or results in my body and learn to do this in the smartest and healthiest way possible.  It seems like just yesterday that I decided to really grab ahold of my health and develop it for the better. I finally thru the excuses away, finally stopped saying “I need to get on a diet,” I finally developed consistency, I finally developed patience, I finally developed endurance, I finally took charge, I finally did it! Finally... I know I can do better, be better, and feel better. That’s all it takes? Why did I wait so long 😱 We all have the ability to mold ourselves physically and mentally. All you have to do is choose to love yourself💝

U can tell it was basically juice 😅Practice makes perfect 😇 this one includes 10 raspberries (just in the smoothie itself, 8 strawberries, 6oz of high protein Greek yogurt, on scoop of collagen, and 2 scoops of @alaninutrition fruity cereal whey protein powder🍓❤️

  • hi, i’m sassi and i love weightlifting 💛.
yesterday i talked to a friend (@maggie_xvx 💘) about the lack of community for olympic weightlifting in germany. 
it feels like there are so many young, well educated, cool powerlifting coaches and the gang around this sport is really strong and supportive.

to me, weightlifting is one oft the most beautiful and fascinating sports. it might not be as much fun for the audience to watch, cos you can’t scream the weights up, but it 
certainly deserves a bit more love. 
and... super selfish: i want more buddies by my side to nerd about foot placement, sliding, jumping, catch positions, turnovers, time to fixation, german volume. e v e r y t h i n g 🥰. #makeweightliftinggreatagain .

    yesterday i talked to a friend (@maggie_xvx 💘) about the lack of community for olympic weightlifting in germany.
    it feels like there are so many young, well educated, cool powerlifting coaches and the gang around this sport is really strong and supportive.
