그냥 저냥 잘 하고있다(?)
운동량은 많은 편이라, 먹는 양만 좀 줄여도 쭉쭉 빠진다.
복근은 아직은 먼 얘기라 욕심 없구..😆
오늘은 회사 트레이너 쌤이랑 같이
저승문 한 세 번 두드리고 왔네.. 낼도 같이하기로!

  • Happy Thanksgiving everybody! 🦃🍁 I am so grateful for all the blessings in my life right now and most of all the sheer joy of being able to spend the holiday with my family this year. I have spent the last few holidays either working or sick so this year was extra special!

God bless all the service men & women, cops, firefighters, nurses, doctors, CNAs & everyone who is working in the service of others this holiday instead of spending it with their loved ones.

Another popular diet fad that everyone’s talking about - if you’re anywhere near the internet, the concept of Intermittent Fasting (IF) is gaining attention & popularity. However, fasting has been around for many centuries for religious practices (most popularly Ramadan in the Islamic faith). So what’s the verdict? Some say that IF just sounds like a fancy term for starving yourself & calling it a diet. Others claim it is a highly effective way to lose weight, reduce cholesterol, blood pressure and may even mitigate heart disease. 🤔

Many have criticized coaches for recommending and endorsing IF to their followers/clients. So where does this put you? SHOULD you try it? Is it safe?

⚛️WHAT IS IT?
Basically it’s an umbrella term for cycling between periods of fasting & non-fasting to achieve weight loss. It also deals with eating certain types of foods at certain times of day.

⚛️WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Research has demonstrated on overweight rats rather than actual humans (lol), that IF can lower risk of heart disease, promote weight loss, decreased risk for diabetes, promote impulse control and maybe increase attentiveness. It has also shown decrease in fasting glucose levels & inflammatory markers in small groups of human subjects. Many studies have only followed subjects for a maximum of 6-8 months so long term effectiveness of IF is not known. However, fasting in accordance with the bodies natural circadian rhythm (limiting food intake prior to bedtime) does demonstrate benefits.

I talk a lot about the kind of culture that we live in — because I really think there is a lot of challenges in our modern day culture. We live in a culture of comparisons according to Pastor Olsteen.
.
We wake up in the morning and often the first thing we do is take to our social media feeds (guilty 🙋🏻‍♀️) & we see — this ones on vacation, this one just got married, engaged, had a baby, is out on a day trip to the Hamptons, etc. and what am I doing? Well, I’m home in my bed — getting ready for work, or just dragging myself to the gym trying to get a body I feel like I’ll never achieve — sound familiar?
.
What we are comparing ourselves to is airbrushed perfection — filtered, hand-picked highlights. It is so easy to slip into self loathing, and being self critical when we are trying to measure up against this prosthetic perfection.
.
You CANNOT run someone else’s race — that is what I find so powerful of Pastor Olsteen’s words — you can only run yours and use the tools that you are given. And the fact is — “you are fearfully and wonderfully made” — I know what you’re thinking — you’ve heard it all before, it’s all hogwash it’s all cliche.
.
But YOU have to believe in YOU. Remember that you are made in a world that is constantly telling you that what you are needs to be similar to a unreachable standard of beauty — that standing up and owning who you are, being authentic, is a brave act.

And everyday that you do that, I praise you, I honor your courage, and I encourage you to keep on keeping on. You got this my friend 💕✨
