  • ✨HEY GUYS! Our Northern Oregon Coast Road Trip is live on the blog!✨ -
-
This is our second time to the Oregon Coast, and we cannot get over how much we love staying near Netarts and Tillamook, Oregon. A quiet, quaint, and the sleepy little coastal town - even when we visited in the peak summer months a couple years ago. We give you recommendations on where to stay, what to do, and what places you need to explore and cross off your bucket-list!

Had a lot of fun blogging on the new iPad Pro and using the pencil for some graphic fun! Go check it out and let me know what you think! Link in profile!

Küçüksu ve çevresi, Osmanlı döneminde padişahın has bahçelerinden biri olmuştur. 17. yüzyıldan başlayarak çeşitli kaynaklarda “Bağçe-i Göksu” adıyla geçen yörede, özellikle 18. yüzyıldan başlayarak yoğun bir yapılaşma izlenmektedir.

  • This state park is one of the newer ones of California, having officially become one in 2009. It’s a bit secluded and hard to find since you must drive through an old military site, but absolutely worth it due to the beautiful sand dunes and ocean views. If you fancy a surf or swim, please take extra caution because the rip currents are super dangerous. I got a bit nervous myself watching them from the shore 😅🌊

  • “We’ll just take a few mins and have each of you introduce yourself” she said delightfully... immediately the walls started to close in on me. Is it hot in here? I’m sweating... my heart feels like it might explode out of me chest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I look around... 27 strangers sit calmly in their chairs awaiting their turn to share their name, the reason they signed up for a wilderness first aid course, and favorite outdoor activity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
None of them look nervous... why is it so hot? Shit, it’s almost my turn. Breathe in. Breathe out. Think of a joke... think of anything to break the tension. BREATHE dammit!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
”Hi my name is Arielle. I’m here because I’m thru hiking the PCT this year and I promised my mom I’d do everything I could to make her less nervous about me spending 4 months in the woods...” laughter. Whew. Ok... “And my favorite activity is rock climbing!”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I didn’t hear anything the next person said... it took two or three people for my anxiety spiral to break... oh social anxiety... my sweet friend. How nice of you to come by for a little visit...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Truth be told things in the social anxiety department have been a lot better lately. I feel a lot more settled in myself and have gotten so much better at settling the feelings if they do ever start to come up but I’d be lying if I said I had it fully figured out...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s funny because whenever I tell people about my anxiety spirals they are shocked. “Omg I would have never known!” They say. And the truth is most the time we don’t know the internal struggles people carry around with them day after day... we don’t know what they’ve been through or are going through because so often these struggles are neatly tucked away out of plain sight...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I guess what I’m getting at here is since we never REALLY know what someone is going through we owe it to ourselves to give people grace as much as possible... to assume the best in people and show up in the world and to the world with a little kindness and a whole lot of compassion...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A smile. A phone call. A passing “hello”. Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference.
