  • Ghanaian Jollof Rice! Chicken and rice together are never wrong, and this is delicious version! •
•
We have had The Ghana Cookbook for a few years, but never made anything out of until tonight. The recipe is pretty straightforward to execute and doable on a weeknight, especially if you do your prep the night before. From the start of prep until eating was 2 hours (including a half hour break for a cocktail while the dish was in the oven!).
•
•
I encourage you to try a new recipe, maybe even a whole new cuisine in the next couple weeks! The feeling of trying delicious new tastes that YOU made is worth planning ahead for 😊

18-year-old Rawlin Lee Tate Jr. has a lot to celebrate. With a 4.7 GPA, the high school senior is the first African-American male to be valedictorian in Woodland High School's history. Holding the highest grade point average in his class also helped him earn over 1.2 million dollars in scholarships.

Over the course of his high school career, Tate took 21 advanced placement courses and never earned anything lower than an A. “My lowest grade from my high school career was a 98,” Tate told Because of Them We Can.

Recently named a Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education, Tate's academic resume earned him 14 college acceptance letters to schools like Ohio State, Florida A&M University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse, Howard, Rose Hulman, Hampton, University of Georgia, North Carolina A&T and Tuskegee amongst others.

When he wasn’t studying or doing homework to maintain his A average, he was busy with extra curricular activities and school related clubs. In addition to playing two varsity sports, being a member of the band and being inducted into seven national honor societies, Tate made time to hone his musical skills as a concert pianist and recording artist.

To celebrate his accomplishments, Tate posted a remix of Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag” to his Twitter account. In just 24 hours it already has close to 250,000 views. His opening line set the tone for the remake. . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“This right here is my swag, 4.7 GPA I just secured the bag.” A question we always get when these stories go viral is "how did s/he do it?" Its clear that one thing the Tate did often was raise his hand for help.
. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I would stay extra for tutoring a lot, and I was never afraid to ask questions in class,” Tate said.

He credits his success to God and his ability to stay focused. “My advice to others is to always stay humble and do your best, and don’t get preoccupied with competing.”

  • #JoynerLucas and #Logic squash their beef and join forces on ISIS

In the militaristic video, the rappers hit the front lines as soldiers leading an army of men. Lucas shouts out the “kids like me who got ADHD” before putting a gun to the head of an ISIS member, who turns out to be Logic. “Push me, I’m Louis Vuitton / You at Target with your mom / On the internet, still hating on my last post / I just had a steak back at Mastro’s, my God!” raps Bobby Tarantino. “One time for the Grammy that I never got / Two times for the Garden that I sold out / Three times for the street crimes that I committed.” With weapons drawn, the two continue to unleash brash rhymes. “Me and Joyner need a couple hearses / Double homicide, kill the beat and the verses,” adds Logic.
Prior to collaborating, the two had a rocky relationship. During a 2017 interview with “Everyday Struggle,” Lucas called out Logic for his race-related rhymes. “I think he can rap. But I feel like he tries to prove that he’s black too much for me,” he said. Logic alluded to the beef on Thursday, posting the “ISIS” video and writing, “What’s beef?” Source : GlobNg.com

.
.
As a young author, his ultimate goal is to have his book available in every elementary school library across the country in an effort to help children improve on their lexicon nationwide.

  • DIONNE WARWICK SAYS BEYONCÉ HASN’T REACHED ‘ICONIC STATUS’ YET

Dionne Warwick has the BeyHive buzzing with her latest comments.

During an on-camera interview with Essence, the five-time Grammy-winning singer was asked about today’s artists and whether they are creating timeless music. “I don’t know if 10 years from now, anybody can actually sing the songs of our babies today. That’s not, as you guys say, ‘throwing shade.’ That’s just looking at it with reality,” said the 78-year-old.

Added Warwick, “When you speak of folks who have been in the industry, recording for as long as I have, and my peers… These babies, who are approaching 20 years, maybe, which is amusing to me because I’m certain they wouldn’t even last that long. But since they have, when they get into the 50- and 60-year range, that’s when you can start saying, ‘Well, maybe there is a classic hidden somewhere amongst them.’ But at this very moment, I don’t see it.” She also shared her thoughts on Beyoncé. “I have an admiration for Beyoncé,” said Warwick. “Watching her grow has been quite refreshing. It’s wonderful to see how she’s been able to create what and who she wanted to be and who she is.” Source : GlobNg.com
