  • WHAT IS A MEDITERRANEAN GECKO DOING IN ARIZONA?!?! 🦎 This little friend seems to think he blends right in with the cactuses. 🌵 This little fellow is an incredible climber because of tiny little toe pads that act like Velcro or suction cups. It can even climb ON CEILINGS! They are nocturnal and are often found outside on walls near lights where they can catch swarming insects. #geckosofinstagram #lizardsofinstagram #herpingtheglobe #herpingarizona #sunnyarizona #lizard #lizards #gecko #geckos #arizona #reptilesofinstagram #reptiles #reptile #herpetology #herp #herping #climber #climbing #cactuses #cactuslover #cactus🌵 #cactusshirt

  • Dont think I ever shared Escobar's background. I've had him for over 5 months now, I would usually make frequent trips to the pet store for supplies and always took a look at the fish and reptiles. After a while I noticed him there and kept coming back to see him over the next couple weeks(to unnamed petstore). Finally I decided to take him home. I loved his little face. After holding him and talking to the worker they explained to me how this little guy escaped his enclosure and was missing for two weeks. They found him hiding in a bag of substrate. I was happy they were honest with me, but that meaning he didnt have good health. He went too long without water, food, or a heat source. This caused him to have some still noticable skin sag issues and I'm pretty sure he has a slight case of MBD(metabolic bone disease) because his arms are thin and only getting bigger very slowly over proper supplements. I'm so happy hes better than he was at one point and that I can provide him with all the love I have. But this also explains the name choice😏 and no, he hasnt ever escaped from me.

  • Of COURSE she was eating out of the bowl, polite as you please, BEFORE I took my phone out. Of COURSE she turned into an uncooperative gremlin as soon as I pressed record. Thanks, Crita, love you too 🙄

  • Throwback Thursday! Baby Mudkip was always looking grumpy. 😠 Also, look how close I was holding him to the floor compared to now because I was SO scared he’d launch off my hand! 😂 He’s grown up to be such a good little boy. 🥰

  • Enigmatic leaf-tailed gecko species, Phyllurus platurus. The tail stores fat reserves and can be dropped if the animal finds itself in danger -- however, the regenerated tail will lack the detail of the original. Also, this species has a bright blue tongue!
