  • Gates of Ishtar - A Bloodred Path. What a band! Where I was all this time and didn’t hear them? 🤔 Only in 2017, when the Century Media reissued their albums, I discovered Gates of Ishtar. I consider this band one of the best representatives of the Swedish MDM scene and Mikael Sandorf certainly has the talent to pick the right notes when composing catchy and engaging melodies. “A Bloodred Path” in this edition contains both the original and the new cover, on which you can see the tombstone with the epitaph “Forever in our hearts” that is dedicated to drummer Oskar Karlsson who died in 2016 😔 #melodicdeathmetal #deathmetalvinyl #vinylcommunity #vinyljunkies #vinylcollection #gatesofishtar

  • I love this album, a lot. Opening track very much reminds me of Aardvark's Farkas Lemma. (Never heard of them? No? Okay.) . Perpetual Dawn is chilling, somehow both solemn and inspiring, both deep and radiant. After the intro ends at 1:50 we get into the gritty melodeath. The lyrics are not fascinating, this band is all about making jaw dropping, absolutely legendary melodies. 5:25 is such a majestic guitar solo. Trail of Tears has some great bass guitar going on. And the rhythm guitar just carries the song through it's seamless penetration. This track is a more regular melodic death metal song than it's predecessor, nothing mythical happening it's just one solid tempo, but it's a good bumper. This band is definitely a good one to keep in your collection- it's pretty underground, and absolutely a monumental masterpiece. These guys are from Sweden, so they are not an authentic Babylon homage. I also like the album, At Dusk and Forever. The aesthetic of it all is just so fantastic for a sky dreamer like myself. I am always looking for the dawn, am always waiting for dusk. I really search my soul. . So many memories to re-live. I like the remastered cover better than the classic design. Dawn of Flames brings the album back to it's origin with some deep and masterful guitar playing. The drummer is banging away at that kick-pedal like a possessed man, light on crash with a lot of snare. Then there's an epic piano solo! I'm on cloud nine. Got some nice organ synth backing up the progression, then whammo! Some metal fit for the pit. It's really a pretty soft album though, pretty typical melodeath. At least the vocals are consistently rowdy, like Subterranean-era In Flames. At The Gates is a heavier brand of metal than this is, so if you're looking for some gut-stomping music this might only give you a bit of introspection. The whole album remains consistent, no crazy tempo drops or technical detailing. #gatesofishtar #thedawnofflames #melodeath #melodicdeathmetal #metal #mosh #headbang

Using the blue lion and daisy motif that runs down the corridor as a locking strip, the two bases are held in place. The Ishtar Gate is printed in blue to match the tiles of the daisy lions. #ishtar #gatesofishtar #babylon #b3d #computersarecool - Ishtar is the first diety w written documentation. Also Easter=Ishtar

  • Gates Of Ishtar / At Dusk and Forever . 皆さん、ご存知のスウェーデン発メロデスバンドGates Of Ishtarのサードアルバムにしてラストアルバム♫1998年に発表された作品ですが、こちらは数年前のリイシュー盤です☺ まずジャケがかっこいい！ゲームのダークソウル的な雰囲気がグッド😸私はあのゲームは途中で投げましたが（笑） オリジナルのジャケは正直ださい（笑）リイシュー盤でジャケ変えてよかったと思います😀 . 内容としてはアグレッシヴでスピーディでメロディアス！スウェーデンらしいサウンドです😊聴いてて気持ちいいサウンドですね😏 嫌なこととかあった時に、このアルバム聴いてスカッとしてます😊 . このバンドはduskfallの母体ともなったバンドとしても有名ですね🐯私はduskfallから入ったので、この曲めっちゃduskfallじゃん！とかありました（笑）でもduskfallより激しめなので激しいのがお好きな人にはオススメです☺duskfallは洗練されすぎてるというか、コンパクトに纏まりすぎてるかなと個人的には思います☠大好きなバンドですが🐶 . このアルバムは北欧メロディックデスメタルの名盤として挙げる方も多いので、気になる方は是非CDを手にとってみてください👿私もこのアルバムは名盤だと思ってます👹 . #gatesofishtar #melodicdeathmetal #sweden #メロデス #ヘヴィメタル
