  • BOTTLE CAP FINE MOTOR PLAY

Need an easy prep activity that will keep kids busy for a while?! This bottle cap fine motor activity is one of my favorite low prep activities to pull out when we need a quick boredom buster.
You’ll need an assortment of bottle caps, a small dish of water and at least one pipette. I like to place all the materials together on a tray (or baking sheet) to catch the over spill and make clean up easier.
While this activity is definitely TONS of fun there's a TON of learning going on too. As they play, little ones will:
1) Exercise the fine motor muscles that will help with many self-help skills and writing
2) Explore beginning measurement concepts
3) Experiment with force, motion and distance

𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐈𝐈 .
.
We spoke about Good Friday yesterday - how Jesus died on the cross for us & was resurrected on Sunday. He was very curious about the resurrection. He asked how could this be possible & said it'd nice if his 'gong-gong' (gramp) can do this too. 😅😅 I wished that too, my snuggle-bunny!! .
.
So today, on Good Friday, we decided to play the game he's been waiting for - the Easter Egg Hunt! .
.
𝕃𝕖𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕙𝕦𝕟𝕥 𝕓𝕖𝕘𝕚𝕟.... . .
.
24 eggs with 24 Math quizzes in it + 3 carrots - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction & decimal - all in one basket; in one game. Each colour eggs has different points. .
.
Before I could tell him the rules, he beat me to it. He asked for rules, timing of hunt & area of hunt. 😂 .
.
𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧! Good job on this, baby!! . .
.
When it's time to tally up the score, he asked to do a 6-tier addition instead of breaking it into smaller chunks. D had done 3-tier addition; the max he went. Since he's keen to challenge himself; I don't see why not?? 😁
.
𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀!

  • 🔲 Feed the Rabbit! 🔲
•
Here’s a cute Easter-themed activity set-up with many versatile ways of playing! I stuck those little carrots 🥕 into a tray of oats; and slotted a small laminated card in the hands of the rabbit. Since that piece of card is laminated, you can easily write anything you want on it with a whiteboard marker, wipe it off, and re-use it again!
•
Here, we primarily used this set-up for numeracy, namely addition. For eg, for “1+3”, I told T “the rabbit needs to eat 1 carrot first”. T fed the rabbit 🐰 1 carrot. I then told him “now, she wants to eat another 3 carrots”, he fed the rabbit another 3 carrots. I then prompted him “how many carrots have you fed the rabbit?” We did this for different addition formulas until he decides to stop (#childledplay), then I left him with the set-up for him to continue with sensory play.
