  • Of the three images that I captured the other day, this one is by far my favorite from the set. It was also my very first composition when I set up on the tripod at Doane’s Falls. I remember looking around during this two-minute exposure and seeing so much potential there. So many more possibilities up stream to the left, and of course the iconic compositions of this site down yonder to my right. I was smack dab in the middle of it all I felt. I will most certainly return soon! It’s wonderful that here on the East Coast we have the opportunity to experience places like this not just in one regard, but throughout four unique seasons each year. I’m great full for that.

  • I have found photographing landscapes during the winter to be so refreshing. It’s just so peaceful... The crispness of the cool air, the silence, and complete absence of people. I have to admit, it’s calming. Not only that but it makes for some truly unique compositions in the sense that the landscape is transformed by the snow and ice that encapsulates it. It’s beautiful to me how for example the water flows under, and around these banks of snow forming unique shapes around rocks, trees, and other fixtures.

  • It has been a most exciting week! I visited Trap Falls just a few days ago, and yesterday had the pleasure of exploring Doane’s Falls in Royalston, MA. The landscape was much larger than I had anticipated and I spent a good three hours working just a small part of it. This was the last composition I captured before venturing out. I cannot wait to return!
