  • L E N G T H Y P O S T | Almost had my Instagram locked because I was using a third party app called #fuelgram to help boost my exposure. It allowed me to control the amount of likes and views that came from genuine users who also used the Fuelgram platform. It essentially worked with the IG algorithm BUT after a few weeks using, I was getting these prompts from IG saying if i don’t change my password that I’d be locked out permanently. The Fuelgram service is a tool that takes your profile, automates it to view and like thousands of other profiles on IG, and in return others will like and view yours. Sounded legit, but I felt desperate in need to get my page back to where everyone can view. I was totally kidding myself thinking this would be quick fix but instead it poisoned me even more. Yes I allowed myself to feel the need to be fed by likes and views to feel successful, or to feel like my work isn’t worthy of sharing. Once again, another lie I fell into. Time to rewind to the basics and reset! I want to share my work on @instagram without having this thought of competition and facade being the main focus. It shouldn’t and I think that’s where many of us struggle.
Taking another mini break from posting has taught me even more about myself and what the heck I’m doing. I really hope these exposed weaknesses about myself will grow me into a wiser person. Because it really does feel like we’re living in the days where human interactions, cultural norms, self expression is changing literally into a digital reality. Funny that I’m saying all this while staring into my phone for hours. Well, you get the point.
I had one purpose and one consistency when I began sharing my work online. The purpose was to inspire others, and to use this platform to share thoughts that matter. The consistency I strayed away from was posting work that speaks for itself. Competition + comparison pulled me away from that, thus, holding back on what I can really do. I’m not saying I’m the best but I definitely haven’t given it my all. The spark is still there and fighting to stay lit.
Thank you to all my followers who support, & especially my loved ones. I appreciate you all!
