  • This video exposes a powerful lobby group in Australia.
But they are active in every country.
The funny thing is that they call climate activists "alarmist"

What they are doing is alarmist, spreading fear that meaningful climate action will wreck the economy.
Climate change is the real danger to the economy!

  • The electric scooter wars of 1911.
The granddaddy of the Lime Scooter.
They also had electric cars at the time.
I sometimes wonder what our cars trucks and busses would look like today if they hadn't discovered cheap oil.

No matter what we have to get away from petrol and diesel now.

They've ditched their gas guzzler for an electric car and upgraded to a heat pump, resulting in big savings for their family. Jim and Alyssa love their affordable, low-carbon lifestyle. After all, it's basically like their old lifestyle—only better. 😎

  • Fossil Fuels (Not Wildfires) Biggest Source of a Key Arctic Climate Pollutant, Study Finds⠀
Five years of testing at sites across the Arctic tracked seasonal fluctuations and sources of black carbon, which contributes to global warming and ice melt.⠀
⠀
New remote data show fossil fuel combustion is the leading source of black carbon, a short-lived climate pollutant while airborne and a cause of darkening of ice in the Arctic.⠀
⠀
When soot from fossil fuel combustion and wildfires drifts onto the Arctic ice and snow, it helps feed a spiraling cycle of warming, melting ice and rising sea level.⠀
⠀
New research carried out at remote locations across the Arctic shows that most of the soot—also known as black carbon—is coming from fossil fuel sources such as coal power plants, cars and trucks and factories. The findings could help countries begin to control this climate pollutant.⠀
⠀
"Some people think it's biofuels and wildfires, but our main takeaway is that fossil fuels are the main source of black carbon in the Arctic," said Patrik Winiger of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the lead author of a study published today in the journal Science Advances. ⠀

  • “Oil And Gas Giants Spend Millions Lobbying To Block Climate Change Policies ⠀ ⠀
Every year, the world's five largest publicly owned oil and gas companies spend approximately $200 million on lobbying designed to control, delay or block binding climate-motivated policy. This has caused problems for governments seeking to implement policies in the wake of the Paris Agreement which are vital in meeting climate change targets. Companies are generally reluctant to disclose such lobbying expenditure. ⠀
⠀
BP has the highest annual expenditure on climate lobbying at $53 million, followed by Shell with $49 million and ExxonMobil with $41 million. Chevron and Total each spend around $29 million every year. Part of the lobby spend goes towards sophisticated efforts to engage politicians and the general public on environmental policies that could impact fossil fuel usage. A recent example of this is BP coordinating messages across its social media channels and advertising platforms that reframe the climate crisis as a "dual" energy challenge. ⠀
⠀
The research also found that the five companies listed support their lobbying expenditures with a financial outlay of $195 million annually for focused branding activities which suggest they support action against climate change. The most common tactics employed are drawing attention to low carbon, positioning the company as a climate expert and acknowledging climate concern while ignoring solutions. The report said that the campaigns are misleading the public given that the companies listed continue to expand their oil and gas extraction activities with only 3% of spending directed to low carbon projects. Both Shell and Chevron rejected the report's findings and reinforced their commitment to reducing greenhouse gases and addressing climate change.” https://buff.ly/2urlcED

  • How humans derailed the Earth’s climate in just 160 years⠀
⠀
Climate change might be the most urgent issue of our day, both politically and experientially. There is mounting awareness that the global climate is a matter for public action. For 11,500 years, atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations hovered around 280 ppm (the preindustrial “normal”), with an average surface temperature around 15°C. Since the Industrial Revolution, this level has been rising continuously, reaching 410 ppm in 2018. The geosciences, with their focus on timescales up to billions of years, are uniquely equipped to make extremely clear how abruptly industrial societies have changed and are changing the Earth’s climate.⠀

We have to end this madness!

So what can you do?

Here are a few things : ➡Reduce your own carbon footprint by wasting less, eating less red meat and switching to renewable energy where possible. ➡Talk to your friends, colleges and family about climate change. ➡Tag someone and use climate change messages in your feed. ➡Like and comment on climate change messages to increase their reach. ➡Join a local group like #schoolstrike #extinctionrebellion #stopadani #fridaysforfuture
And most importantly, ➡Vote for the climate!

And don't forget to follow 👉 #icaremovement and @icaremvt ☺

  • The climate in the Arctic is going '70 retro style, because of Global Warming. This past week, the temperatures in the region hit above 70 degrees Fahrenheit (25C) near Yellow Knife, Canada - unheard of weather patterns in the past century. According to over 100 years of record keeping, the temperatures have never danced so high. Clear warning signs that the Arctic Climate is being disturbed by man-made activities. Yikes! That not groovy folks!

So demand answers, accountability and action from your world leaders and politicians before it is too late.

We are in a Climate Change Emergency. We need all hands on deck to turn this ship around. Mobilize, rebel, take action and do whatever it takes to be heard. Please share and get informed. Thanks for listening.

  • “Coal Burning Plants Aren’t Just Polluting the Air—They’re Poisoning Water⠀
A new report reveals the extent of the problem.⠀
⠀
Fossil fuel companies have polluted the groundwater of communities across the country with poisonous chemicals. According to a new comprehensive study by the Environmental Integrity Project and Earthjustice, the groundwater beneath 91 percent of coal plants has been contaminated with coal ash, the byproduct of burning coal. The study’s conclusion? Coal-burning is not only contributing to climate change, it’s also doing widespread damage to the country’s water, and the Trump administration is making the problem worse. ⠀
⠀
“We’re facing a water crisis nationwide, caused by coal ash and perpetuated by the Trump administration,” Lisa Evans, senior counsel at Earthjustice, said on a national press call about the report. The report also found that the groundwater at 52 percent of coal plants had unsafe levels of arsenic, a neurotoxin that can lead to brain development issues in children. More than one-third of people in the United States rely on groundwater for drinking.” ⠀
