These bold visual narratives and “contradictory” images made me question my own shallow notions of femininity, for all I know. We have women caressing (as opposed to being caressed) or engaging in similar practices of #nantaimori — eating sushi off of a male’s body (as opposed to #nyotaimori, eating off of men’s body.) The clay sculptures of women in wedding gowns also shed desires starkly at odds with the usual quintessential notions of “purity and innocence” only associated with womanhood. The fact that I even acknowledged this as contradictory shows how steep gender norms run deep in our society.

When performing this movement, your prime movers will be your upper trapezius muscles and your lats/rhomboids/rear delts will follow through as secondaries. Be sure to exhale as you pull (get some core work in there) and finish the movement with the “suns out guns out” pose 😂

  • People often say age is just a number. The irony is that with age, I find that to have some truth to it. Age doesn’t give maturity, your character shows maturity. Age doesn’t give experience, you’re willingness to live does. Age doesn’t give common sense and age doesn’t teach people respect.....unfortunately some people grow older physically but stay stagnant in their own person. What a waste of life. Don’t let your age become just number. Live and strive to be better with each day.

  • I hear this A LOT... I also see A LOT of struggles to actually achieve it and keep it.
I can say with clarity that stopping, starting, doing ok for a bit, trying this new program, that quick fix, this new diet WILL NOT fix it.

One of the big disconnections with all this is  the "feel better about myself".
.
.
Feeling better when we have that thing, feeling better when we look a certain way, feeling better when we reach a certain weight is all in the future. .
.

What we need to do is to start feeling better in the NOW, for this is what brings the desired changes. .
.

Making "feeling better" dependent on these future desires really f##ks it up for actually achieving them, because you never feel good enough now, you never feel like you're doing enough, you feel guilty, you get frustrated, you criticise yourself - AND this is what keeps you locked in the very behaviour you want to change.

This becomes a cycle for many people.
.
.

The way to break it is to take a more holistic view point and look at it in a much more expanded way.
.
.

You have to start aligning your mind, body and soul - the whole of you, so that there isn't ANY part of you that works against yourself . .

You will probably need a new perspective around food and exercise so that it's an enjoyable experience that brings you more motivation, higher vitality levels, mental wellness and a long lasting ideal weight.

.

You may need to reorganise a few other things in your life too that you have never related to eating habits/drinking habits and exercise.

  • Totally random breakfast but I’m trying to “organize” my containers throughout my day to not only achieve a healthy balance at each meal but also trying to have my carbs earlier in the day. •
Your body needs carbs to function much like a vehicle needs fuel. At the end of your day it is less necessary for them because your body is about to rest and reset and doesn’t need as much fuel to run. So try to get them in earlier in your day so your body is running at it’s best!

Plated: whole grain English muffin, jalapeño cream cheese, turkey sausage, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.
