  • Yesterday evening, after a long time, we had the monsoon special vada party at our place with our gang( minus the rains). The menu was simple - batata vada and mango milkshake (by @tejasldoshi )
Now, I have to confess that I rather lack confidence when it comes to frying stuff. Not that I am scared of it but I lack the technical and practical knowledge beyond frying basic stuff like fryums or papad. since this time mother in law was not around to rescue, I was left with my luck and theoretical knowledge. But thanks to @shruti_pradhan - with some great teamwork we were able to pull up the frying act with flying colors. The skin turned out to be exactly how we wanted - golden, thin and crispy. The vadas were accompanied by dry garlic chutney, green chutney (coriander +mint) and tangy chutney( tamarind + jaggery) - all homemade. For vada I followed my mother in law’s recipe of white potato stuffing made by adding ginger chilly paste, chopped coriander, salt, sugar and lemon juice to mashed potatoes. These are less intense than the Maharashtrian yellow stuffing vadas and can be consumed in larger quantities. We hogged on countless vadas only to be put in a food coma afterwards by the most amazing mango milkshake. Yesterday evening was satisfying on many levels.   • This place has just made it on to our list of favorite, good-for-value steakhouses in Bangkok. @maillardbutcher serves a wide range of marbling scored Thai-French steak, with both fresh and dry aged option. We found the steaks unabashedly seasoned and grilled to perfection, which forms a very tasty outer crust, while internally, it’s still juicy and tender. We braced through #foodcoma amounts of rib eye 8-9 and striploin 11-12 marbling, which are on the upper tier of the cuts available, without spending a fortune on them. Love that the steaks are already flavorful without the sauce, but their pepper and chimichurri sauces also livens our taste buds. Overall, worth the price tag, would definitely recommend to #meatlover friends and family and surely would come back for more

และนี่ก็คืออ ร้านสเต็กร้านใหม่ที่เพิ่งเข้าไปอยู่ในลิสต์ steak house ราคาไม่แรง(จนเกินไป) ขวัญใจแก๊งค์เรา @maillardbutcher ที่เสริฟสเต็กโคขุนไทย-เฟร้นช์ หลากหลายเกรด จะ marbling มากน้อย จะชอบ dry age หรือเนื้อสด ที่นี่มีจัดให้ได้หมด สเต็กของเค้าปรุงและย่างมาได้พอดีมาก ทำให้ขอบด้านนอกของสเต็กอุ้มรสชาติไว้เต็มเปี่ยมและกรอบนิดๆ ขณะที่ข้างในยังนุ่มชุ่มฉ่ำอยู่ เราสั่ง ribeye 8-9 และ striploin 11-12 ซึ่งเป็นเนื้อที่ค่อนข้างพรีเมี่ยมของร้านมาทานในปริมาณที่เยอะมากแทบจุก โดยที่กระเป๋าตังยังไม่ฉีกนะเออ เลิฟที่สเต็กนั้นอร่อยในตัวมันอยู่แล้วโดยไม่ต้องพึ่งพาซอสอะไรใดๆเลย แต่พอลองซอสพริกไท และ chimichurri ก็อ่าวเฮ้ย จิ้มซอสก็ดีอ่ะ ทำให้รสชาติไม่จำเจ โดยรวมๆแล้วถือว่าคุ้มค่าคุ้มราคา แนะนำเลยสำหรับ #สายเนื้อ ทั้งหลาย และบอกเลยว่าเดี๋ยวเรากลับมาซ้ำแน่นอนนนน

  • It’s always a wonderful experience visiting Loafology for Breakfast. The ambience is second to none and needs no elaboration.
However, the breakfast items I order were unfortunately not up to the mark this time. 
Poached with eggs (Skinny option): PKR 575
Rating: 6.5/10 
Black Tea: PKR 250
Rating: 4/10 
I ordered Poached eggs with spinach which is their skinny option of poached eggs. This item contained two runny poached eggs (they can be well done also) along with roasted tomato, wilted spinach and two slices of sour dough bread. 
The poached eggs had a perfectly runny yolk and a firm egg white however the cooked spinach was extremely bland and could have been seasoned better with salt, pepper ,nutmeg, ginger, cloves, cinnamon or anything really! The delicious sour dough bread  somewhat compensated for the bland spinach but what can one do when the tea with your meal is really off? 
The black tea served along with milk on the side was one of the best I have had anywhere in Islamabad however this time, the blend of black tea and ear grey leaves was not balanced-there was a strange after taste to the tea. Perhaps it wasn’t cooked enough or wasn’t properly brewed. Whatever it was, the tea was no good. 
However, I’m always willing to give Loafology another chance as it is one of my favourite restaurants in Islamabad. I look forward to a better experience next time!

Here’s the recipe that i follow and LOVE 
It’s by Huda Akbar❤️
💗Mayonnaise Sauce •Mayonnaise 1cup
•Ketchup 5tbsp
•Salt 1/2 tsp
•Mustard 1/2 tsp
•Black pepper 1/2tsp
💗For the gravy
•Boneless chicken cubes
•Capsicum 2 finely chopped
•Onions 3 diced
•Cabbage 1 finely chopped •Cornflour 2 tbs
•Flour 2tbs
•Salt 1 tsp
•Egg 1
•Black pepper 1 tsp
•Olive oil 3 tbs
•Red chilli flakes 1 tbs
•Green chillies 3 chopped •Soya sauce 1 tbs
•Vinegar 1 tbs
•Chilli sauce 1 tbs
•Chilli garlic sauce 1 tbs
•White pepper 1 tsp
💗For the rice
•Rice 2 cups
💗For the noodles •Spaghetti 1 packet
METHOD
•Boil the rice and noodles beforehand
•Prepare a marinade for the chicken by mixing flour,egg,salt,pepper and red chilli flakes with water.Marinate the chicken in the mixture and deep fry until they’re cooked thoroughly.
•In a pan sauté the vegetables in soya sauce,vinegar,chilli sauce,chilli garlic sauce,salt and white pepper.Fry the veggies for about 2 mins and once they’re cooked add the fried chicken in it as well.
•Spread the rice on the bottom of a large dish and cover it with the mayonnaise dressing.
•Prepare the second layer by spreading noodles over the rice,followed by chicken and vegetables gravy.
•Spread some more of the mayonnaise dressing for the third (top) layer and garnish it with chopped green onions.Serve warm.

Regardless, the 20 minute wait it this gelateria was definitely worth is when I saw this beauty layered with one scoop of Nutella and white chocolate, and one scoop of milk chocolate, topped with a cookie. This isn’t your average ice cream, this is THE treat you want when you’re looking for pure indulgence! It definitely doesn’t get better than this! 😍

Firm yet light skin of this Ba-Bin with a hint of caramel-y makes a total different to all the Ba-Bin we've ever had! Plus a subtle sweetness and aroma of young #coconut stuffed inside is spot on. We can clearly see now why most of their customers always order 10ish boxes of this #ThaiSweet, hence a long waiting list, because one is not enough! #Amust !
