  • Let’s talk pre-exhaustion exercises:
Something that has transformed my work-outs, and in turn my body, over the last few months has been the addition of pre-exhaustion exercises to every workout. 💪🏼
What are they: single joint/isolation exercises that allow you to more effectively target a particular muscle than multi-joint exercises 🎯 
Examples: Chest-machine fly; Shoulders- lateral raises; Quads-extensions; Hamstrings-leg curls•

When you start with a multi-joint exercise a lot of times you aren’t breaking down the targeted muscle group as effectively as possible, due to the failure of an ancillary muscle (I.e. when starting out a workout with bench press your triceps will give out prior to the complete exhaustion of the pectoralis major). Starting your workout with a pre-exhaustion isolation exercise prior to hitting the multi-joint exercise will allow you to more precisely hit the larger targeted muscle group, in-turn breaking it down and allowing the following multi-joint exercise to more effectively exhaust the targeted muscle group before the failure of an ancillary muscle group. 💪🏼🎯👌🏼🔥
