I'm seeing alot of people at the gym doing giant sets in order to keep their rest time tight and collate more volume in a short time.

Giant sets are 4-6 exercises back to back that are targeting similar muscles groups, hitting very high volume with very little rest.

The reason why you want to do giant sets if you want to get more hypertrophy, grow more muscles while burning alot of fat because it is of high intensity.
.
1โƒฃ For the first exercise, you want to do an explosive and compound exercise.
e.g. Plyo push up
.
2โƒฃ The second exercise can be less intense and you focus more on a stabilisation move.
e.g. Inclined bench press
.
3โƒฃ For the third exercise, try to focus on one muscle group.
e.g. Chest fly
.
4โƒฃ Your last fourth exercise can be an isolated or isometric exercise.
e.g. Planks
(since here focusing alot on your upper body strength in your arms)

โœ… Save time
โœ… Do very high volume
โœ… More muscle growth and hypertrophy
โœ… Due to high intensity, it promotes lipids for fat loss

๐Ÿ‘‰ As giant sets are very intense, you want to look at resting 1-3 mins per round and target 3 sets.

  • My current fat loss journey began right after I got back from a Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต trip (July 17) that was quite the food (and alcohol) trip. During the past 3 months, I had my setbacks, doubts, regressions (Swipe left โฌ…๏ธ & you can see where just by looking at the graph๐Ÿ˜…). Looking back, I'm really glad that I shoved those negative thoughts aside and allowed myself to keep going. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

This is my 2nd time on contest prep and this journey really taught me a handful of things!๐Ÿ’Ž
.
1. Whenever I felt demotivated, I picked myself back up right away and proceeded with the process. Quitting won't speed things up, fam. ๐Ÿšซ
.
2. Sometimes, I do have to make sacrifices. A better version of myself will require a different level of mindset and willingness to do the uncomfortable. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
.
3. I can have results OR excuses. Not both. This process really tested my resolve and will power. Some of you may know that I was close to dropping out of my contest prep. Thank God and many of my supportive friends for encouraging me to continue. (s/o to my boy and prep coach @hans_vdd! Alam mo na yan, brother!) At the end of the day, whatever excuses I had, they meant nothing. 'Pag gusto, may paraan. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Any day is a good day for a fresh start, why not magic Monday. Last week I was off my game. This week I am starting strong by prioritizing my goals. My first and foremost goal is to take care of myself mentally and physically. My second goal is to not get behind with my PhD work with my residency coming up. My third goal is to try and actually sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด

  • New Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite and Cinnamon Coca-Cola are here! The Sprite has a hint of cranberry and spice, but it mostly just tastes like Sprite. 6/10. The Cinnamon Coca-Cola is the real winner here. The cinnamon flavor is warm, but not spicy. It feels like  Christmastime in a bottle. The cinnamon isn't too overpowering, but it also isn't overshadowed by the citrus notes in the cola. 8.5/10. These are out everywhere now. I've personally found the cans at Target, Hy-Vee, and Woodman's and 20 fl oz and 2 L bottles at Target.
