That’s how me and baby bear like to roll.. ☺️ after a weekend of anxiously preparing and then celebrating, I definitely indulged in #allthesweets 🍰 so I really, REALLY needed to move today.

I was in a rush. I had a dinner planned with a friend. I had more than enough reasons to back out of the commitment to myself to workout today..
.
But I kept telling myself
”you’re going to feel so much better..”
“you’ll have more energy afterwards..” and GUESS WHAT?! I was right! I made it through the afternoon slump and was able to enjoy a much needed #girlsdate 💗
.
Was I super motivated?? Nope. I could barely pick out workout clothes that fit.
But did I give it all I could?? Absolutely, because baby bear needs a happy, healthy mama 😍 it may have only been 25 minutes but it’s 25 minutes I didn’t give yesterday. So for me, that’s a WIN 🙌🏻
.
So I’m here to tell you busy mamas out there....YOU CAN DO IT. No, it’s not always fun. No, it’s not always easy. But mama, you are so WORTH IT. Your family needs you at your BEST. And you definitely can’t give them your best, if you don’t FEEL you best. And after many many days working out and many days resting, I feel 💯 better on days I MOVE this body of mine. Even if it’s just for my sanity, not the number on the scale.

We are wrapping up our April boot camp with so many POSITIVE changes happening with our bodies & minds and we aren’t stopping there. My May boot camp is just around the corner and YOU need to be prepping with me this week 💪🏻

Don’t let another summer go by that you cringe trying to find something to wear to the pool. Life is too short to not feel good about yourself!

  • Officially at the stage of “standing behind me you can’t really tell but the second I turn to the side BAM” 😂🤰🏼 she’s doing great in there! But momma is struggling on finding movements that don’t end up making me sore every where especially my hips after! But I’ve officially reached my goal of working out longer than I did with L 🙌🏼 and for the most part most things still feel just fine so I see this as a win today❤️💪🏼🤰🏼 #mombod #fitpregnancy #crossfitpregnancy #pleasantlyplump

  • A little late night meal prep for the next couple days - homemade hummus and veggies (pita chips ready to dip, too!). Gotta get in some veg after all the Easter sugar this weekend. Love getting a huge bunch of multicolored 🥕to munch on. Studying their properties was part of my thesis for my masters degree (hence the carrot tattoo on my forearm 😙). Did you know you get all kinds of different phytonutrients from the different colors of carrots? This is the first time in a long time I’ve gotten a red carrot in my bunch! Lycopene!! Try to enjoy ALL of the colors of the 🌈 from your food in a week... I dare ya!

And the impact it’s having on the rest of your body? No, because it’s not a skilled professional with her eyes and heart on you!

  • Selfcare takes on a whole new meaning during pregnancy ✨ It’s so important to find selfcare rituals during this special time to keep both mama and baby happy! Things change when you are having a baby - physically, emotionally, mentally - and there’s just no way around it. Some of your pre-pregnancy selfcare rituals may translate, but not all of them will. Below are some of things I’m doing to take care of myself during pregnancy:
1️⃣ Epsom salt baths 2-3x per week to help relax me and ease my achy body. 
2️⃣ Sleep in/go to bed early. I’m not typically a late sleeper at all but my body just isn’t functioning like it used to! Growing a baby takes a lot of work so sleeping when my body tells me has been really helpful for me to function. 
3️⃣ Find a tv show. This is so important for my selfcare ritual - it allows me to zone out, not think too hard, and just relax & binge watch. 
4️⃣ Get manis/facials. It’s very easy to feel gross and out of control in the looks department during pregnancy. Caring for yourself is a great way to feel healthy and beautiful. 
5️⃣ Hydrate! I feel like I mention this a lot and it’s because it’s THAT important. When I’m hydrated is definitely when I feel my absolute best mentally, physically, and emotionally. My body is so much more sensitive to dehydration during pregnancy so drinking tons of water is essential to my selfcare. 
6️⃣ Eating fresh fruits & veggies. This makes me feel so good these days. I feel like I’m feeding my baby nutrients to help him get stronger while also keeping myself in check health-wise. 
7️⃣ Indulge in sweets a few times a week if you’re craving them! Pregnancy has brought on a sweet tooth for me and I have been listening to my body 100% on this front (if not now, then when?).
8️⃣ Set boundaries. Knowing what to say yes to and what to say no to is key during this time. Be aware of your needs and what you’re going to feel good doing before you plan a packed schedule for yourself. People pleasing just doesn’t work during pregnancy!

  • Bike cool down with company. 
Unfortunately I have had to stop running due to some pretty bad round ligament pain. I’ve tried a couple different belly bands and they don’t seem to offer the relief I need. In the meantime I’m walking twice a day (2.5 miles in the morning, 0.5-1 mile in the evening), biking a few days a week, trying to hike once per week, coupled with core/strength every few days and yoga once a week. It’s not the same as running and difficult to keep my headspace right, but I’m still moving and the dogs seem to be entertained! #21weekspregnant #notrunningthroughpregnancy #fitpregnancy #fitmom

The sunshine was the 🍒 on top of a wonderful day spent as a family. This year Brett's work was off Good Friday AND Easter Monday which meant we had an amazingly long weekend as a family 💕👨‍👩‍👧

I used to be so jealous of all the vacation days Brett got and was always bummed that I couldn't take the days off to be at home with him 😒 NOT ANYMORE 😁 I love that I can have every day with my family and have the freedom to make my own schedule. Are you ready to take that control as #FitAndFearless babe?!

I am literally stronger, healthier, more energized, and more confident in my final weeks of pregnancy at almost 27 years old than I was when I was in college. HOW?!? Because I have a “why” that won’t quit! When I decided to make a change to my habits six years ago — I knew EXACTLY why I was going to get my health under control, and that’s been the secret to me never falling off track. 👇🏼

I didn’t start this fitness journey to hit a number on the scale or fit into certain pant size. NOPE. But I did realize that my health and fitness were in such a bad place when I was 21 years old that I had NO energy, NO physical strength, NO self confidence, and NO belief in myself. 😫 I turned down almost every opportunity to try something new (classes, sports, clubs, activities, heck even talking to new potential friends at school) so that I wouldn’t draw any attention to myself — and eventually I got sick and tired of waking up everyday just floating through life.

I decided that I wasn’t going to sit on the sidelines anymore........ that I was going to take care of myself so that I COULD have the energy strength and confidence to explore the world with my husband, and to keep up with my future children, and to wake up everyday feeling GOOD inside and out. I needed to show myself that I was capable of putting in the hard work to create change in my body so that it could spill over into every area of my life.👌🏼

Those are the kind of goals that STICK. Those are things I was NEVER willing to give up on.

Screw a bikini..... I’m training for LIFE, and I think maybe just maybe if you focus more on how you want to FEEL and less on how you want to LOOK — you’ll be sharing YOUR transformation story six years from now too. 💙 Now the real question is...... what’s YOUR why????

Two more days and our State Testing is over at school and I am in the last days until I reach 40 weeks on Friday🤗

It’s amazing how slow the first half of pregnancy felt this time around🐌. Then these last 4 weeks have completely flown by like a whirlwind🌪. And now with the anticipation of “when” everything seems to have slowed to a crawl again🐌. I am feeling beyond blessed to continue to have energy through it all - even if tying my shoes feels like a workout somedays 😆 
My daily workouts have slowed as I have tried to keep baby cozy inside through all of the recent events, however I am excited to say that my nutrition has not completely gone to the wayside🤗

  • Finalmente otro videito de ejercicios, esta es una rutina que estoy haciendo después de tener a mi bebe y les cuento que me ha ayudado mucho a volver a ejercitarme.

  • I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had some variation of this meal over the last year because it truly is a perfect PCOS/fertility plate! And just plain nutritious and delicious if baby making isn’t your thing. 😉

Why is this a perfect plate? We’ve got a lean protein (salmon), complex carbs (quinoa), and plenty of greens (roasted broccoli). Most importantly, they are precisely portioned to make sure I’m getting as much nutritional value as possible without overeating. That makes for a winning combo!

For ladies with PCOS, it is so important for us to eat nutritionally dense and varied foods that are hormone friendly. Plates like this help fuel our body while keeping our cycles in check. I’m thankful for this amazing dish that took me 30 minutes to put out on the table!
