  • TOPSET NOT GOOD ENOUGH?

Sometimes your first set just might not be good enough. Wether your mentally not there or your muscles aren’t physically ready.

This style of training is fairly new to me this growing phase and I love it. For those that aren’t familiar with what I’m talking about then I will explain.

TOPSET - Is your first movement, for a maximum effort (EG. 1 set x 6-8 reps)

BACKOFF SET(s)- This is the set that follows on. This will be of a lighter weight for higher reps (EG. 10 - 12 reps)

Now I only have 1 Topset programmed in my movements. Never 2. But. Recently I have found myself going back for a second go. 
Why? 
Because sometimes I have this turbo nonce moment where I’m just not ready to fully go all out. Physically and mentally.

The first clip is what I thought was going to be my topset of 67.5kg each side for 7. Well, it whacked me for 5. 
No chance. Hoody off, Music up, REALLY FOCUS on the number your aiming for. Go again. 
2nd clip is for the 7. Went for the 8 but the higher spirit sat me down.

It happens. Just make sure you go and get it second time round.
