  • ▪️Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who was there for my family through this past week. We are in good spirits and believing God to continue working.⁣
⁣
▪️I’ll share the full testimony once we are out of the woods. God is a healer & we still need prayers for Roman, but he is way better off than he was! ⁣
⁣
▪️Back to the desert this weekend. Won’t be home for nearly a year. Keep praying for our son 🙏🏽

This journey as it is, is hard! .

I am not going to lie to you like most will, what's the point your going to find out either way .

This journey is one where you have to take action. That doesn't mean you won't slip up as that will happen, but it means that you find your own habits and get into your own groove that will make you succeed .

However, a lot of you (myself included once upon a time) are making this journey so much harder then it needs to be .

Let's cover training first and then will do nutrition soon! .

In the process of improving your health, body shape and life, weight training will play a big role! .

The thing is what you do outside of that session determines a lot of what we are going to do within that weight training session .

Let me explain .

Weight training is a stress, actually any training is a stress. This is like a sea saw as we need that stress if we want to change. We need to take our bodies out of what we call homeostasis which is balance for us to grow or drop body fat! .

Ok cool, still with me? So that stress has caused the sea saw to go to the right and lower. However, on the left we have everything that balances that sea saw back out again .

This is recovery and this is where most of you are screwing yourselves up as you are not focusing on it .

Everything is determined by what you can recover from. Going into the gym and smashing yourself might seem clever, fun and feel like you done something, but for most of you it's dumb and actually counter productive .

Here is my advice to you focus on recovery. Focus on providing your body with quality nutrients, focus on getting a good night sleep, focus on de-stressing, focus on relaxing! There are a bunch of ways you can do this but we will cover these in a later post .

For now realise that recovery is just as or not more important then your training!! - #regrann

  • POST-WORKOUT SMOOTHIE RECIPE 🍓🍫 Our superstar trainer (and dietitian) Britt has shared her go-to post-workout meal: a Choc Raspberry Smoothie. Britt’s top tips with this one is to make sure the strawberries or banana are frozen to make the smoothie thicker, and to add the protein LAST so that it doesn’t stick or clump 👌🏼 Thanks Britt for sharing this delicious recipe with us 😋 Let us know what you think when you try it! @brittandreola.dietitian

  • ❌DANGER❌Back day today...
Back is mainly divided into Lats and Center back....
The Lats are roughly 50% fast and slow twich, while the Center back(mid traps and rhomboids) has slightly more fast twich fibres(5-10% more). Therefore, your workouts for the lats should be divided into light and heavy days. For center back thickness, likely 6 out of 10 workouts should be heavy...

  • Happy HUMP my loves 🤩🌈 I hope you’re all having a fab week so far and have put in at least 2 gym sessions 😉 Today I did my cardio/HIIT set at @orangetheory 🍊 and I can tell you I LOVE it! Orangetheory is a science-backed and technology-tracked group workout and as a techie myself, I love their use of technology to help you see results 👏🏾 it’s a mix of treadmill, rowing and floor work which will leave you burning 🔥 if you have one in your area, check them out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What have you guys been working on this week? Is Wednesday your usual rest day? Let me know below 👇🏾💜

  • Trying this new thing where I don’t kill myself at the gym 6x a week... I’ve been quite stressed the last two months. My cycle was.... wait for it... 53 DAYS LONG and I’ve been losing weight without trying

So the last few weeks I’ve been ebbing and flowing. Everyday I alternate hard and easier workouts

Hard workouts include HIIT, spin at @soulcycle, boxing at @studeo_ with my girl @amandaherdmann and heavy weight lifting from @sweat at @anytimevanwestend

Easier workouts include walking, sauna and classes at @wearejaybird that focus on yoga-ish movements and glutes 🍑

Not only is this easier on the body and reduces stress, it also helps with longevity and aging

Such a conundrum: do you exercise excessively 6x a week for serious toning (aka abs) or workout less to promote longevity and not age faster?

What do you think? Drop your thoughts below👇

  • The day after legday
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Ja men absolut!
