  • Dreaming of Tuscany. This gentle impressionist style render was made this week from a shot taken during our 2019 photo tour in Tuscany, when the red poppies were just beginning to flower. In 2020 we are returning with our second photo tour, just a wee bit later so hoping the poppies are in full and riotous colour! #poppiesintuscany #canonnz #nzphotographer #nzphotography #tuscanyitaly #dphotonz @mcl_arts

Some weeks ago I caught a final glimpse of the MilkyWay’s galactic core for the season. It was very low above the horizon chasing sunset toward the west. However, behind me in the opposite direction the bright lights of Wellington’s Northern suburbs were shining under a clear night sky. As Wellington city’s population grows, the northern suburbs makes way for new developments in whatever land is available. With it will come new infrastructure and more lights. Who knows what the future holds for these areas and if shots like this will still become possible in years to come 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • Mother and chick... nearly two flowers. Red rose in my garden by the rather tragic name Tess of the Daubervilles; Tess whilst beautiful, has tragically vicious thorns. This image was finished with a Kathleen Clemens texture. #canonnz #dphotonz #nzphotographer #kc365 #redroses

  • The first sunrise of 2019 on 1 Jan down by the tree, it's in a great little spot not just because of the tree but because you get such a vast amount of sky. This was taken pretty early and all alone but as the intense color arrived so did a boat full of drunk boys who thought they were hillarous parking right under the tree and kept asking 'are they famous yet'.... You may have already seen it in my story and I will post a pic another time if the magnificent light, including the boat. Any similar experiences at popular spots? if so please share 😀
