Pandemi Corona memaksa setiap orang agar menekan sedikit egonya untuk tetap berdiam diri di rumah dalam waktu yang belum tahu sampai kapan. Tak terkecuali siswa dan mahasiswa yang mau tidak mau harus membiasakan perkuliahan online demi keberlangsungan pembelajaran. Masalahnya bukan disana, berbekal alasan “GABUT” banyak yang membuat challenge pada sosial media yang jauh dari kata bermanfaat. Hal ini menjadi wabah baru yang cukup mengkhawatirkan. Menyebarkan virus untuk membuat orang menyia-nyiakan waktu yang seharusnya bisa dimanfaatkan untuk hal lebih berguna. ⁣

Beruntungnya hal ini dibarengi oleh sekelompok manusia yang membuat challenge dan kegiatan membawa dampak positif sehingga waktu dapat dipakai untuk kegiatan yang lebih produktif. Walau belum terlalu mampu mengimbangi pengikut challenge “gabut”, setidaknya ada yang tergerak untuk mengikuti. Hal inilah yang seharusnya diacungi jempol. Bersama membawa mindset yang menekankan bahwa banyak yang dapat dilakukan sekalipun kita harus #dirumahaja. Baca buku misalnya, course online, meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa, pengembangan diri, quality time dengan keluarga, meningkatkan eksistensi ibadah, dan masih banyak lagi. ⁣

Jadi kawan, jangan bingung. Sungguh banyak yang bisa dilakukan. Selama ini mungkin ada diantara kita yang menyesalkan waktu tak cukup 24 jam. Giliran sekarang dikasih waktu free di rumah, itulah yang harusnya dimanfaatkan. Jadi atur waktumu sebaik-baiknya dan gunakan sosial media dengan bijak, sembari berdo’a agar pandemi corona segera berakhir.⁣

  • My schedule is practically the same with everything going on, with the exception of the kids school stuff (man that takes a lot of time and work! 😩). Ok well, sorda. Work and workouts are the same. My motivation has been struggling since this all started, but because it's so engrained in my daily routine, I do it anyway. 
I know everything is stressful, the future is unknown, and we're constantly trying to figure everything out day to day. But one thing you can control and incorporate into your daily routine is exercise. Think about how many times we've said, we don't have time... Welp we got it now. 30 minutes minimum is all you need! Or you could even break if up throughout the day. So take advantage of this time we have right now. Use it to get healthier and stronger! You have all day to do the other things (watch Netflix, clean your pantry, watch Netflix again Lol...)... Commit to MOVING your body for 30 minutes of it! If you need some free workouts to try, I'll be more than happy to send you some. Or do some pushups, run up and down your stairs, jump rope, dance... Doesn't matter... Just get up and MOVE your🍑 #workoutathome

  • Just dropped off 110 handmade cards for residents at the Parkview care center.  Since the residents aren't allowed any visitors,  we wanted to brighten their day. The entire family worked on this. I think Ning's are the best. It also gave us something to do.  I did check ahead to make sure it was allowed. Do something good with all this time.  Peace and love. .

Most of us are trying to figure out what to do with it.  Whether it is Netflix consumption, news feeds, ten push ups every time you check social media, etc, the world is looking for things to do. 
As you know, around here, tinkering with and recreating drinks are favorite pastimes.  One of the focal points the past week has been the classic cocktail, Ward Eight.
It isn’t complicated - two ounces of rye, a half ounce each of lemon and orange juice, then 2 teaspoons of grenadine shaken and  garnished with cherries.  The high citrus content plays so nicely with the spiciness of the rye.  Grenadine adds balance to the cocktail and a wonderful glow to the aesthetics of it.
The riff featured here today still has Rye as the base, and it has been quickly infused with orange and lemon peels to bolster the citrus.  Grenadine is split with gomme syrup as the sweetener, and a bar spoon each of Falernum and Luxardo are added - the former to accent the warmth of the flavors and the latter to ‘replace’ the cherry garnish.  Two dashes of angostura bitters make this reshake complete.
This cocktail drinks so easily.  There is no doubt -  this will be a regular creation for the warmer months that are nearly upon us here in the South.
Here is to having time - It can be a hidden reward we enjoy and maximize during these uncertain moments.  May we all spend it wisely.  Cheers!

2 ounces Rye Whiskey infused with orange and lemon peels @oldforester 
1/2 ounce Lemon juice
1/2 ounce Orange juice
1 teaspoon Homemade Grenadine @barfaith 
1 teaspoon Gomme syrup
1 bsp Falernum
1 bsp Luxardo @angosturahouse 
2 dashes Angostura bitters @angosturahouse

For the infusion, add a few peels to the Rye, shake, and let sit on the counter until you are ready to make the drink (for this recipe it sat for about 4 hours). Add all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled.  double strain into a glass and garnish appropriately .  Enjoy!

  • This has been me these past few days. With my ADHD brain...thinking. “What should I be doing now?” And not knowing. And sitting. And staring. And thinking some more. All semblance of routine gone. No job. No where to go. Now what?

Then I took action. I did something. Routine is up to me now. So I got up....and cleaned my apartment...naturally.
Then I Made that daily schedule. Get up and go to bed times. When I can watch the news times. Added appointments that can be made for online. Made time for creativity. Set time aside for responsibilities. And time aside to spend in prayer and time to connect with others. 🤗 There is a lot of time in between...I’ll give myself...to continue to stare off into space... if I need to. I’ve always been a daydreamer. This time will look different for all of us...which I feel is one big...”no duh.”

Take time to to sit and stare. Then do something to use this time...so when it’s over you don’t regret not using it to the best of your ability. Us ADHDers can do that. Let’s not. .

Pour clore le « triptyque » en bleu, j’ai ressorti cette photo qui date, je pense de 2014.
Non je ne portais pas autant de noir à l’époque même si je trouve au noir une classe intemporelle. Oui, je lisais déjà beaucoup d’ouvrages ésotériques et spirituels et tirais les carte. Je connaissais aussi de nombreux aspects de la sorcellerie. Mais ce n’est pas du tout ce que j’affichais dans mon look. À vrai dire, je ne cherche pas à véhiculer un quelconque message via mon style vestimentaire mais être moi.
Sur cette photo, on peut s’interroger : suis-je nostalgique du passé ? Est-ce que je pense à l’avenir ? Ou bien tout simplement étais-je en train de vivre le présent ?

It is a profound gift to gain the understanding of how precious life is. It makes us live life as large as we can as we know it might be our last. .

  • The truth about living with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis is:
    * You never know how much time you have left. You plant your feet firmly into the ground and affirm life, while at the same time making peace with death.
    * This reality of accepting your death is an incredible gift as you realize how precious each ding dang moment is.
    * You come to accept pain as part of the daily event of being alive. Discomfort in the body is normal and part of the everyday reality. The focus is how to manage the pain and enjoy one’s life. This is why it’s called ‘Quality of Life’
    * The reality of loving and appreciating one’s friends and family takes prevalence over drama and petty disagreements, as you realize your time with them may be numbered. Appreciations wins over discordance. * Acts of kindness from other humans rate high in your eyes as you’re clear how sacred each breath is. * With the realization your days are numbered, life accomplishments seem all the more important when the clock is ticking loudly above your head. At the same time there is a deep acceptance, surrender and understanding that in the big picture it all doesn’t really matter. * The sacred and the profane take on a whole new level of understanding. Suddenly the secrets of the Universe make sense. You are privy to understand the meaning of life. It can be a weight to hold, but at the same time it’s hard won wisdom.
    * You would sacrifice your soul to prevent the pain of what you dread, leaving behind your beloveds and in turn causing them pain. Especially your golden children. 💜
    * Tears flow easily when touched by the hand of death. How can one not cry at the simple beauty of life? .
