  • The Safdarjung tomb, the last monumental tomb garden of the Mughals, was planned and built like an enclosed garden tomb in line with the style of the Humayun tomb. It was completed in 1754.
Safdarjung's Tomb is a sandstone and marble mausoleum in Delhi, India. It was built in 1754 in the late Mughal Empire style for Nawab Safdarjung.Safdarjung, Nawab of Oudh, was made prime minister of the Mughal Empire (Wazir ul-Mamlak-i-Hindustan) when Ahmed Shah Bahadur ascended the throne in 1748.

  • Q: Is the correct plural term cactuses or cacti? 🌵

A: Both. Cacti is the Latin plural of cactus while cactuses is the English. They are both listed in the dictionary & neither is right or wrong!

  • SMILE, UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE

Today, while sorting my pictures, I found this one, clicked last June in Delhi while I was out for shopping.
I met this very sweet woman with whom I shared a drink, some talks, laughters and, this smile, full of spontaneity.
Looking at this picture made me remember these lyrics by a French artist who inspires me a lot:

Don't cultivate hatred or it will eat you.
Heal, because if you're ill in yourself it will be the same somewhere else.
Life told me: Happiness depends on your eyes, your energy.
Those who are not afraid of heights do not fall. Because fear attracts everything, magnetic.
It told me : Do not judge, avoid the commonplaces. Channel your analyses because your thoughts build you.
Never trivialize, all is unique, meditate on it.

Life told me : Listen to the words I whisper to you. Take yourself in hand instead of crying for help.
Learning to give for real is not waiting anything back.
Nothing is too late if you think you took the wrong way.
Listen to your intuition, it will make the doubt disappear.

Life told me not to be scared to make mistakes as they make us grow, and we must dare to be complete.
You’ll be the only one to decide the direction of your path.

Only love can heal and this, nobody can take it from you. If you don’t open up your heart, how do you expect light to come in ?
Stay faithful to your convictions, love unconditionally.

Life told me « Dare me, recognise you in the fellow, as the fellow is another you.»

  • HOW I AFFORD TRAVEL: PT 2—INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
*Please save and share for the info!*
In a recent post, I shared my top tips for funded long-term travel. CONFERENCES are another amazing (and underutilized) way to fund SHORT-TERM travel!
.
Since 2018, I've traveled to 4 European countries and to Kochi for conference-funded travel. I usually find a fully-funded conference, or apply for external funding to attend a conference of my interest. Then, I plan a trip in the area around the conference (as flights are already covered!) Keep in mind you should only pursue this for topics you actually care about to make the most of it! .
Here're some tips:
FOR STUDENTS (UNDERGRAD/GRAD): 1. Contact your department to ask if they know of upcoming conferences in your field! If they don't, research on your own and propose it to them!
2. Many conferences will invite a few students with full funding. If not, your university likely has some grants you can apply for to attend! Don't be afraid to ask around
.
FOR PROFESSIONALS/OTHER
1. There are tons of online databases including every Intl. conference EVER. Explore the sites and see if you can find funded offers for your field!
2. Discuss with your employer if your company offers any grants for professional development that could apply to the conference. If it's in your field, they may support you! or at least grant PTO
3. Contact your alma-mater and ask if they have any alumni-development grants available for conferences! You'd be surprised
.
FOR EVERYONE: @opportunitydesk, @packslight and @scholarshipscorner post funded conferences and travel ops DAILY. I apply for about one a week to maximize my chances! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.
Travel isn't just about insta-worthy moments. You can pursue learning and professional development too! In a single trip, I've combined a conference on Reproductive Health with lounging on the beach in Montenegro
.
This is a very niche and nerdy 'travel hack'! Feel free to comment any questions 😊

  • I heard them talking that you have to take this life very seriously, you have only one life, don't just waste this laughing and wandering all over.
.
Well, I think they are right at their place but what about the people who says, do what makes you happy, be with who makes you smile, laugh as much as you breathe, and love as long as you live.
.
.
So, Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
.
.
In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

P.S. : Happiness is a choice, a repetitive one.
