  • “Dashes Of Pulse And Breath (As Seasons Roll By XI)” was finished on Sept. 25, 2018, and I’m sharing it here with a video shot last Sept. 27. It’s that same view I can’t get enough of, with a bit of Black Label Society’s “Scars” rolling in the background, but this time we can hear a dog barking towards the end of the clip. I thought it could add an extra element of coolness to this post.
.
The “As Seasons Roll By” series goes back to the very first poem I’ve ever shared on Instagram, to my very first post to be precise. Back in mid 2017, as I contemplated how the emotions behind these verses seemed only to get stronger as time went by, I thought of the fact that they also had already entered its fourth season, having begun at the end of the 2016 Fall. As ideas for a title for a poem inspired by that aforementioned succession of seasons were pondered, “As Seasons Roll By” came to mind as a variation on “As Tears Go By”, by the Rolling Stones, and I decided to stick with it.
.
Twelve poems under that title later, today I listened to Chris Cornell’s “Seasons” and found that its lyrics contain the words “Seasons Rolling By.” Considering my love for his work and the impact it had on my earlier poetry, it seems to be a beautiful synchronicity that I sure ought to be thankful for, among so many countless other reasons over the course of these past almost three years; which, to be absolutely honest, have been by far the best I’ve ever lived.
.
To the beautiful Muse of Life, who’s so much better than she could possibly ever know. And who’s shown me a world whose colors, emotions and life at its purest and most essential would otherwise have remained unknown to me to my very last pulse and breath.

  • I have a like-dislike relationship with #snow.
👍❄️👎
On the one paw, I like how she makes everything quiet, still, and a comfy cold.
🤫⛄🧤
On the other paw, I dislike how she quiets all the smells, makes my daddies super still during potty breaks, and likes to stay moist which makes the temperature become an uncomfy -freezing°F (-freezing°C).
🙊☃️🥶
Happy #ThrowbackThursday to (#December2016) when the snow and I had changed our relationship status to #complicated.

  • I listen to you anywhere, anytime, all day long, at work, at home, on the street, you are all the time in my ears, in my head and in my heart!!! But most of all, I like to see you live, again and again in my country or anywhere in the world (through your music, I met the most beautiful people)!!! You are my first thought in the morning and my last one at bedtime ... after my husband, of course!!!😜

  • Taking in a beautiful winter wonderland. Feels like I'm in the real life Narnia! This was around Truckee, CA along the N Shore Rd. We were just leaving Incline Village and headed to eat lunch at Boomtown Reno at the time. This was during our super spontaneous, post-Christmas outing to the snow... *Our spontaneous snow outing in summary:
Right after our family's annual Christmas party in Stockton, me, my cousin and her friend Eugene went up to the Sierras to enjoy the fresh snow thanks to the recent storm(s). After getting ready back at my cousin's place, we met Eugene in Fremont and left for the mountains shortly before 4 a.m. After a few pit stops, we finally made it up the snowy mountains of the Sierras! The sun was also rising while on the way, so we took in the beautiful snowy terrain as we neared Lake Tahoe. Our first stop was at the Incline Beach in Incline Village, NV. This beach was at the northern end of Lake Tahoe and in Nevada. After taking in the stunning views and played in the snow a bit and enduring subfreezing temps, we headed to eat lunch at the Boomtown Casino & Hotel in Reno, NV. We ate at the Lobster Buffet in the casino. They opened at noon so while we waited, we ate pizza next door, at the Market Fresh Deli. After enjoying the all-you-can-eat lobster buffet, we quickly hit the road & headed back home since Gretchen had to work the same afternoon/evening! We enjoyed the sunset while traveling thru the open Central Valley while playing the song, "Fields of Gold". Despite a quick day's trip, we had a fun time. Til next time, safe travels everyone! • Nothing like taking a nice road trip up in the snow-covered mountains of the Sierra Nevada on the day after Christmas! The views were just stunning indeed. The video ends while we were starting to encounter some traffic along I-80 westbound (hence the slowing of our speed). Enjoy the video! *Our spontaneous snow outing in summary:

  • Fun times in the snow at Incline Beach around the Incline Village up in North Lake Tahoe (Nevada side). Brrrr, it was super cold out, with temps likely in the single digits at the time. However, the views up here were just stunning... Can't imagine how cold the water was though lol. Anyway, enjoy the video and don't get frost bite! *Our spontaneous snow outing in summary:

We ate at the Lobster Buffet in the casino. They opened at noon so while we waited, we ate pizza next door, at the Market Fresh Deli. After enjoying the all-you-can-eat lobster buffet, we quickly hit the road & headed back home since Gretchen had to work the same afternoon/evening! We enjoyed the sunset while traveling thru the open Central Valley while playing the song, "Fields of Gold". Despite a quick day's trip, we had a fun time. Til next time, safe travels everyone!
• Enjoying a nice post-Christmas drive up to Lake Tahoe, particularly to Incline Village in Nevada around the northern areas of Tahoe. We were driving along I-80 eastbound and we began to see more and more of the stunning snow-covered terrain as the sun slowly rose. Even Donner Lake was visibly covered in fog here in the video. It was just stunning and felt like we were in the real life Narnia! Temps have dipped to single digits, possibly at 0, as we reached the Donner Pass/Truckee areas... The video ends when we reached Incline Village. Enjoy the video! *Our spontaneous snow outing in summary:

Right after our family’s annual Christmas party in Stockton, me, my cousin and her friend Eugene went up to the Sierras to enjoy the fresh snow thanks to the recent storm(s). After getting ready back at my cousin’s place, we met Eugene in Fremont and left for the mountains shortly before 4 a.m. We enjoyed the sunset while traveling thru the open Central Valley while playing the song, “Fields of Gold”. Despite a quick day’s trip, we had a fun time.  Til next time, safe travels everyone!
