  • There’s been a few posts flying around today about backing up (excuse the pun) what you say on social media with action.

The harsh reality for those that compete is there is no hiding when you’re on stage. Your work, or lack of, WILL show.

It’s easy to get fantasied with the idea of stepping on stage, I know I am, BUT at the forefront of my mind every day is what can I do to get ACTUALLY better, not what can I do to make a great post. 
_
We all share so much on social media which is amazing, just make damn sure that your effort on here doesn’t overtake your effort in physique development. That will be a sure fast way to upset come stage day. 
_
I’m lucky to be surrounded by those that do just that. Pretty much all the content I absorb are those individuals as well. 👊🏻

  • Pressures of life... Dealing with work, school, men, women, social life, social media, friends, money, bills, negativity, distance, death, and so much more can sometimes feel like there’s an extra 300 lbs. weighing you down. Unfortunately we sometimes unconsciously pawn some of that pressure with the ones we love the most. When you love someone unconditionally, you continue to find ways to help them but let’s face it, we all have our own pressures.

STAND UP! I encourage everyone going through something to STAND. UP. Tall!

Just like a deadlift, that weight wants to pull you back down. All that negativity wants to force you down to your knees. STAND UP. Whatever excuses, aches, or pains try to pull you back down remember, after the rain it’s always your time to SHINE.

  • Switching to front squats for a short while, can really feel the extra upper back work while getting squat volume in, 100kg x 5 as third and final top set

Also ensuring the habit of deadlifting after squats continues even if it’s just some lighter triples to reenforce the good habits I’m starting to develop! 140x3 as the fifth and final set

Still feel like getting stronger each week despite the deficit!
