  • A little over seven years ago, I held my very first one-on-one mentoring session.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
But it almost didn’t happen because of impostor syndrome…⁠⠀
⁠⠀
I’d only been doing photography seriously for about 3 years at that point, so even though folks wanted to learn from me, *I* didn’t think I had any business teaching.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Fast-forward 7+ years and although my education programs have gone though several different iterations (one-on-one sessions, workshops, group sessions, etc), I am happy to say that I didn't let those feelings of insecurity keep me from helping over 150 photographers to improve their natural light portrait photography.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
It brings me so much joy to see folks who have taken my class go on to do big things! And I do mean BIG things! By no means do I take credit for anyone’s success, I’m just honored to have played a small role in their photography journey 💞⠀

  • It's been a wild start to 2020 with some unexpected events and HELLA mixed emotions. Howeverrrr, I'm happy to say I've somehow managed to maintain a sense of awareness and purpose that gets clearer and more vibrant every day.

I've been working non-stop to step out of every box I'm put in, and I'm so freakin glad that I've been able to bring some of the most important people in my life with me. With every setback, I've been more motivated to jump forward twice as far. And although I still wake up every morning wishing I could stay in bed for a few minutes longer, my days always end with a sense of accomplishment. I'm definitely not where I wanna be, but I know damn well I'm getting there. Now look at this picture shot by @yesketurah of me directing and @jolly_greengiant_ serving face.

Sales calls can be stressful! You might have a whole list of things you want to say on a call that that fall by the wayside...leaving a lot of room for all of this. 👆😬🤦‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👂If you want to sell more, you HAVE to talk less! Give your customer an opportunity to do the talking!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💬Don't put your self down or make yourself small. You have something important to share—and what you're offering is going to make your customer's life BETTER! Don't minimize that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍Explain how you're going to add value to your customer's life without manipulating them or forcing them into taking action. Avoid phrases like, "You want to more clients, don’t you? I can help you get them.” This isn't the greatest way to build trust and credibility. If there's an opening, consider offering information on the positive results you've gotten for your existing clients.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤷‍♀️"Sorry to bother you," "Sorry to interrupt your day," anything in the 'apology' vein, is not a good place to start. It will immediately make you appear timid, rather than asserting yourself, and showing that you're calling for a reason. Ditch the apologies!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❓Meaningful questions can be the bread and butter of a sales call, and make a tremendous difference in getting the conversation going. Avoid yes-or-no questions, and start asking open-ended questions that allow you to learn more about your customer.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📝Plan! Practice! Then pitch! This will help you to stay focused, and have the ability to bring the conversation back to your purpose. Always leave wiggle room for getting off script, though! 😉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

With racing minds and racing lives, it’s difficult to truly and completely devote our focus to one task. Add in the constant feeling of overwhelm entrepreneurs are under and we have a recipe for disaster. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are a ton of techniques and methods to help keep you focused and productive, and we’re always on the lookout for a new one to try. Here’s one that we recently came across:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💥The Big Five 💥⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️List out five categories of tasks you absolutely have to do. These are things that can solely be on your plate and cannot be delegated. Think about the tasks that are the best use of your time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️On a sheet of paper, draw a horizontal line halfway down. List your Big Five on top and everything else you do that isn’t captured in these categories below the line. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️Everything below the line, things like ordering supplies or scheduling meetings, should be outsourced or delegated to your team, if you have one. Don’t think of it as paying someone for their time, but rather as buying back your own. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You might not be able to eliminate everything below the line right away, but you can begin training others to take over these tasks.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 🔊sound up for all my 90's peeps. This is the first time I have ever worked with cottonwood, and I have to say, I am a fan. This grain is just gorgeous. Love the figure in it. Now, not the biggest fan of the cottonwood tree in my neighborhood during the spring when it releases its seeds and it looks like its snowing and I'm sneezing up a storm. But love it as lumber! What do you think?

It is hard for me to put a label on myself. .
My work is something different. 
I am so much more than just a mindset coach or a business coach.

As a soul leader, I am leading spiritual female entrepreneurs to step into their soul leader power and go through the process of un-conditioning. .
Un-conditioning of their life. 
Un-conditioning of their business. .
To embrace their shadows and their gifts. .
To BE the BEing they are. .
Behind everything. 
Every story and every belief.

To step into their purpose. Fully.
.
To remember who they are.
What they came here to do. .
And to create a business that is a perfect mirror of their uniqueness.

To build it in their own special way and break the rules of what they suppose to do & what is possible. .
Only by embracing everything you can grow and go to another level. There is no skipping. .
It is time for me to fully embrace my spiritual gifts. .
It is time for me to admit that sometimes when I speak I channel words from the Source.

  • I know it feels like life is just happening to you.

And you're there, doing your best to respond, react, to pick up the pieces and somehow figure it all out.

You're overwhelmed. Tired. Lost. Exhausted. Stuck.

I know this because you tell me.

And I get it.

Life is hard.

One day, a handful of years ago, I started to wonder if it has to be that way. THAT hard.

I began to question how much harder we're making it for ourselves.

And what I started to notice blew me away.

It was the season I began to understand the power of mindset.

Of how we choose to think about our lives. What we make circumstances mean.

And it changed everything for me.

It's what led me to step into my work as a coach. 
So that I could share all of the amazing truths I was learning. Because I wanted other moms pursuing passions and careers to feel better too. And I wanted to help.

See, there’s a ripple effect in our lives. And even though it FEELS at times like life is just happening to us, that we're helpless to what happens next, it isn't true.

Everything we're experiencing right now? It started with a thought. And it's true for all the things we love about our lives JUST AS MUCH as everything we wish were different.

Everything starts with a thought, and the ripples affect our entire lives. How we feel, how we show up, how we are in marriage, as parents, friends, daughters, coworkers, believers, business owners, neighbors and more.

If you don't have a why, it's time to dig deep. Your instagram account should be a reflection of your brand's essence.

▶Think of it this way : if you don't know why you are building a business, your clients won't know why either- That is, why they should invest their time in you. If you don't know why you are posting to instagram, your followers won't know why they should follow you.

✳Stop right now. Think of what you want your personal brand to look like.
Heres the questions that you need to ask yourself:

⭐What are five words that come to mind?

In late 2019 I asked myself what platform I wanted to conquer in 2020 and THIS is the one that kept coming up for me. ⁠⠀

Some of you noticed that I've stepped up my content game and I want to share 2 behind-the-scenes lessons that I've learned so far:⁠⠀
⁠⠀
1️⃣There is still SO much room to grow on this platform if you want to. It makes me laugh when I see people still bitching about the algorithm 🙄But growth not going to happen by half-assing it. You've gotta be willing to look at the analytics and see what content is working. Hint: Right now growth is all about unbranded sharable content that people find ultra relatable. Two posts that went wild for me are the graphic that says "Your business is your career, your day job is your side hustle" and the pie chart of where I am most productive.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
👉Question for you to implement this: What's preventing you from experimenting with creating more shareable content that's less branded?⁠⠀
⁠⠀
2️⃣ Different pieces of content have different jobs. Not all content needs a lot of engagement. Some is for likes. Some is for comments. Some is for shares and saves. Others are here to CONNECT with you on a deeper level. It all matters. If you want to grow AND make sales, you're going to need a combination of different types of content. In full disclosure, I'm pretty good at the connecting + selling content so right now I'm focusing on more of the relatable + sharable content. ⁠⠀

You've gotta be willing to look at the analytics and see what content is working. Hint: Right now growth is all about unbranded sharable content that people find ultra relatable. Two posts that went wild for me are the graphic that says "Your business is your career, your day job is your side hustle" and the pie chart of where I am most productive.⁠⠀

    2️⃣ Different pieces of content have different jobs. Not all content needs a lot of engagement. Some is for likes. Some is for comments. Some is for shares and saves. Others are here to CONNECT with you on a deeper level. It all matters. If you want to grow AND make sales, you're going to need a combination of different types of content. In full disclosure, I'm pretty good at the connecting + selling content so right now I'm focusing on more of the relatable + sharable content. ⁠⠀
