  • Three weeks into #selfisolation with the family and though it is a learning curve and test of relationships. I am grateful that we are able to get through this together.  I was chatting with a friend yesterday and we agreed, in this challenging time all we can do is put one foot in front of the other, take care of our bodies in not only nutrition but in mind and soul as well.  With each day comes so much uncertainty but we can start the day with gratitude by taking a breathe... Breathing in and out and acknowledging we are alive. The day is yours with many choices ahead of you. One step at a time. We are all processing this differently and that is ok. Just know you are not alone. Take care of you. Reach out if you need an ear.

  • Meditation and drumming today, down by the river......sometimes our hearts need to first break open before we can heal. Some wounds run so deep that it is embedded in our collective, in our ancestry, in our families in our very bodies.   • Candice's Top 5 Suggestions to Get Clearly Connected at Home!

1. Go on a social media detox:  Interestingly enough, these platforms are a main source of "connection" right now, but keep in mind it's also not REAL connection. It's easy to aimlessly scroll all day, potentially making you feel worse. Take a break and try something new! Lean in and connect with your life and loved ones in a more real and meaningful way. Need some ideas? Let me know!

2.  Journal:  Instead of fearing or trying to escape your innermost thoughts and feelings, (whether it be about current events or just your life in general), try something new and write it down! We all have a great opportunity (and a lot more time) to sit with ourselves in a new way and reflect. What are you noticing about yourself and your life?

3. Declutter: Letting go of physical clutter also declutters the mind and soul. Have a hard time focusing? What is your environment like? A cluttered home affects yours and your family's well being; mentally, emotionally and physically. Clutter also shows up in the form of old ideas, bad habits and excuses. Don't just organize...get RID of anything that does not support who and where you want to be moving forward.

4. Self Care:  Movement, healthy eating, detoxing your body from substances and chemicals and resting when needed are imperative right now! Whatever you feed your body you feed your mind and vice versa. Try your best to not overindulge in processed foods, sweets, soda, alcohol, smoking or anything else you may reach for on autopilot or to "cope." What are you noticing about your habits and patterns that you want to change? 
5. And last, but certainly not least, GET CLEARLY CONNECTED TO YOUR LIFE with a FREE 30 minute session or coaching package! Although my physical office is temporarily closed, I am still coaching both virtually and over the phone.

If you don’t know what it is... it’s a pen pal app that helps you connect with people from around the world. I’ve met some pretty cool people but a young man my age from France and an 18 year old girl from Hungary have particularly surprised me. They are brilliant English speakers and kind hearted individuals. Here are just a few things we’ve talked about. Incredible to think people like this exist and that I have the power to talk to them!

  • It’s important to be aware of the fact that just eating less overall sugar (processed sugars predominantly) isn’t the only important part of preventing tooth decay and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The frequency with which we eat foods higher in sugar is a critical factor in preventing cavities and promoting great overall health.

I love the way backbends make my body feel, I love the life it brings, a feeling of lightness and calm, a steady energy floods my bloodstream and suddenly I feel ready for whatever it was I was stalling over.

I'm not searching for perfection in either of these pictures I'm just exploring and being.

I hope you are able to do something that brings you a moment of joy today.

The world is in chaos but we can help bring order to it by individually taking up responsibility and doing what we can to help our fellow humans!   • Yesterday’s post sparked an insightful conversation on navigating conflict with a partner who identifies as avoidantly attached. I noticed a few things, 1) that many responses reflected the stigma that exists surrounding avoidant attachment, 2) there is a deep pattern of pain associated with trying to navigate conflict with a partner who isn’t actively working on themselves, which impacts the way we relate throughout the lifespan + highlights our need for boundaries, regardless of attachment style and 3) there is often a feeling of “stuckness” in identifying as avoidant or being in a relationship with someone who does.

The post was not intended to suggest that one partner is responsible for shouldering all conflict, tolerating emotional abuse or taking on the responsibility of teaching their partner how to treat them respectfully. 
I receive many, many messages from those who identify as anxiously attached who want support on navigating these conflicts. My role on IG is to offer hope that regardless of where you fall on the attachment spectrum, you are not stuck there permanently. Attachment is one theory of explaining relating - it’s not the only way, and for some it can be a source of deep hurt and loss to identify with a particular attachment style (while for others it can be a source of clarity and self-knowledge). We all wear a different lens based on our experiences, our identities and our pasts.

I apologize to those who felt triggered by the post and debated removing it to avoid further perpetuating any harmful beliefs. However, I want to maintain a transparent space that encourages others to share their personal experiences, what has worked for them & ways they have created safety. I welcome your ideas and thoughts.

  • To expect another to resolve all of our issues and give us the happiness we desire is to expect to see the sunrise without opening our own eyes, it is to ask a river to give us nourishment without dipping our own hands into the water - another cannot answer the riddle that was only ever meant for our own minds to solve.

Happiness may seem elusive, try as we might, no matter our external set up, happiness will come and go. The sea of life flows between calmness and storms, either something outside of us will cause us some sort of struggle or something from within us will arise that is asking to be acknowledged and released - a human being is an accumulation of attachments, aversions, cravings, and delusions, which periodically rise from the depths of our mind so that we can have the opportunity to let them go. Why? Because our nature is not to be full of burdens, we are meant to be light, weightless, and open to music of love and the wisdom of the universe.

Though happiness will come and go, we do have the power to deepen our happiness and extend our amount of time partaking in its heavenly nature, to do so requires effort on our part to enhance our relationship with ourselves so that we may discover all that impedes our contentment and release it from our being. As wisdom grows within us through getting to know ourselves, happiness can have more room within our vessel.

It is not easy to relieve ourselves of these burdens that we carry, at times it is frightening, but it is only when we walk and explore our own inner forest, when we bring our light of awareness into the shadowy realm of the unknown, that we can let go of pain, hurt, and the heaviness of attachment. We are sometimes afraid to let go because it is all we know, but when we do gather the courage to release that which does not serve us, when we release our accumulation of ego, we can come to understand and feel the infinity of unconditional love. When we truly begin to let go, happiness will no longer just be our friend, it will become our home.

  • Toddlers thrive when they know what to expect. At the same time, It can feel difficult getting on the same team at times, especially in the morning. I love an illustrated, simple, chart helping to identify our expectations. When we go over it day after day, it becomes predictable and helps little ones understand their role and what they are capable of. They are building confidence and working toward independence every day. Our role is to be their loving leader and guide.

  • Last year, Ben and I experienced a very painful moment with our daughter. I remember this moment of just feeling so scared and hurt. Ben and I just wondered how do we regain this connection back with our daughter!? I remember being almost frustrated at the Lord, like, why are you not helping us? 😫
.
I remember the Holy Spirit just coming and saying, "Are you done complaining?" I was like, "What are you talking about? I've been asking for your help!?" He said, "No, you've been complaining. You haven't really asked for me to guide you." 😬
.
There's nothing like the Holy Spirit confronting you. It doesn't always feel great, and you want to argue. That's the truth of it. But I remember feeling convicted in that moment and really leaning in and saying, "Okay, then I want you to guide me. I want you to show me what to do because I am at a loss. I don't know what to do."
.
So situation after situation, I remember feeling the Holy Spirit giving me opportunities to open up conversation with my daughter, he gave me undeniable peace when I wanted to explode in anger, and wisdom on how to handle each new situation as it came up before me.
.
After a while, we did regain connection with our daughter. And the defining moment was truly that Ben and I were  led by the Holy Spirit and I pressed in and I said, "God, you take the reins and you use your voice and you help me parent this child."✨
.
Every day I would remember the Scripture that says “His mercies are new every morning.” I just remember clinging to that truth, having to partner with God's going to show up no matter how big and how scary this mess is and how painful this may feel.♥️
.
Fact of the matter is, these are uncertain times, partner in parenting with the one who has all the answers!🙌🏽

  • We are currently going through a metamorphosis, a process of transformation to awaken our humanity and heal our planet. 
Connecting to mother nature is the most rewarding experience for me,  gives me a sense of belonging, of oneness, of connection to something bigger than myself.
We are small in this plane of existence, yet we are powerful beings and the world needs us. 
In order to connect to our true nature we must dissolve the ego, shatter the thought that everything we were taught growing up is the truth.
The ego tries to put fear into our brain and if we let it, our old conditioned habits will take control. 
Our spirit and mind are completely different than our physical body, and until we fully realize this and make the connection to our higher self we won’t be able to see the truth in all things.
If we feel disconnected from everything we are actually disconnected from ourselves, from our truest and most highest self.
Reconnect to the source, to the soul, feeling mother nature in you, breathing Prana into our lungs, synchronizing our heart beat to it’s frequency.
And through this frequency seek the true meaning of your existence, because without that you cannot align with your purpose to restore the balance in the world.
