  • Busy week this week! I’m working OT on Saturday and I have to nanny three nights this week. I prepped, planned and executed! (I’m only slightly irritated that I was off by 0.1oz for this one meal)🤣🙄 PS-we’re all different. We all need different amounts of building blocks aka “macros”. I’m a Dietitian and had an awesome friend, another RD, check to make sure I wasn’t too off the radar given my training plan was changing.

  • "What do you do when you get discouraged? How can you bounce back from failure and move forward with confidence?" 💫
Listened to a podcast from one of my favorite motivational speakers, Brendon Burchard, today and it was exactly what I needed.
Phase 2 of 80 DO ended yesterday and this morning the scale was up 3 lbs.
Now before you tell me not to worry about the scale, I knew it would be up and I'm surprised it wasn't worse.
I couldn't even take progress pics or measurements because I was afraid of what I'd see. (I'm gonna suck it up and take those measurements tomorrow 😉)
I completely dropped the ball on nutrition these last few weeks.
Emotional eater, stress eater, eating for comfort, or simply just telling myself I deserve a treat - or 10. 🤦‍♀️
The old me would have said forget it, it's too hard, and quit.
But I listened to Brendon tell me not to compare my journey to someone else's, to share my struggles, and to do 3 things - today - to help myself get back on track.
So, that's exactly what I'm going to do!
Scared to join me on this journey because you think you have to be perfect?!
Not at all!
You just have to get started and refuse to quit on yourself! 😘

I used to put so much pressure on myself to be perfect. 🌸To do ALL the things.🌸To get it exactly right. 🌸To NEVER stop until I got it done.🌸

But then I would get burned out, and a lot of times give up completely. 😕

How could I ever keep going at that pace??? I couldn't. But instead of taking a breather, I gave up.🤯😞

I started and stopped different projects, workout programs, college applications, life goals ...🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

What could have happened if we took a break instead of quitting on ourselves?🤔

I was that girl on the no-carb, no-fat, salad-only diet burning 1200 calories on the treadmill every day. Sure, it worked for a time, until my body rebelled against the abuse and forced me to take a different path that let me to my BEST FRIENDS: weights.

In 2014 I started lifting heavy and I will never go back. 5 years in the grind to find my best self.
