Cobra Museum | Ata Kandó – Hongaarse Vluchtelingen en Slaaf of Dood | t/m 30 juni 2019⁣
⁣

  • “Carl, How can I monetise my free workshops?”
I hear this a lot.
Look. Workshops are wonderful but it’s important to get clear on what your objective is…because your business objective is not to run workshops.
Your objective is to make money in exchange for your expertise. You’re running a business, after all.
Yes, workshops are great and I know it’s wonderful to offer value to your audience. I love it too. But my business asks of me to earn money so that I can continue doing this work, pay the bills and buy the tea that I love to drink J
So think about that…because workshops are not an exercise in popularity …nor a knowledge contest.
Clearly you have a lot of expertise to offer and that is extremely valuable.
So look at it this way…
Firstly, your free content (blogs, newsletters, your tube videos) can continue to serve those you are not able or not yet ready to invest in your serves.
To monetising your workshops you need to stand in your worth and shout from the rooftops in your marketing that you are worth your fee.
But there are many people out there following you who already see your value and are able to afford your fee, who also struggle with the topic of your workshop. Those are the people you want to bring into your workshops… because you’re running a business.
So don’t ignore those who can afford your fee and want you to help them achieve their goals.
Perhaps you struggle to charge for your services – it feels icky. I get it.
Usually this means there’s some inner-work needed to shift your mindset. So, become aware of the limited beliefs you impose on yourself about our value.
Use a mantra to help you, for example: “People see the value in my services, have the means to afford my fee and gladly want to pay me.”
Don’t aim for the lower tier of the market with your paid services, because that’s not helping your business…refer them to all your free content on social media, your website, your newsletter etc.
And, know that there are many people out there who are willing able to afford your fee.
The only thing you need to do is communicate who your workshops are for and not for, and communicate the results of working with you.
And, you’ll also see the results
