  • Check out this 1994 Porsche Speedster owned by George S. “I had previously owed a 1983 Porsche 944, 1987 Porsche 911 and a 1990 Porsche 911. In early 1993, it was decided that if I could quit smoking, I would give myself a present of a special 911.  I knew  the car, I would like, was a 1994 Speedster. It would be in Polar silver, which was a color that Porsche was not offering and was not going to allow the Speedsters to be built in. Colors offered were only primary colors, that matched the fiberglass which was to be on the backs of the seats. The cars interior was also to be different from what was being offered and would not have fiberglass on the back of the seat. The process of ordering started very soon after the day I quit smoking. It took some time as the factory did not want to deviate from their plans for what they wanted Speedsters to look like. Porsche Calgary had to go back and forth for a couple of months, with Porsche, to get the factory on board with the desired car. It was finally agreed in March 1993, that the factory would build the car as I wished. The car would have to go through the Exclusive Department at Werks # 1 in Stuttgart. In August 1993, I took delivery of the car which is before you.

The car has a 3.6 L, six cylinder air cooled engine, with 247 Hp., overhead camshaft, fuel injection and a 5 gear manual transmission. The number of Speedsters built, was 935 and this car was the only one sold at a dealership in Alberta. I am told that a total of ten were sold in Canada.”

  • I remember being so excited to see this at our hotel the 1st night for RRIV. It was a great start to my 1st Rennsport before I even stepped one foot on Laguna Seca ground. It was also my 1st trip to Cali and when my infatuation with the Golden state began. Then the car started pop up in magazines. I sure wish I would have done a better job photographing it at the time.

  • Killer RSR 2.1L is an absolute beast. Number 22 came second at Le Mans in 1974. If this didn’t exist, there would not have been the 930, 934, 935 and other Turbo’d 911’s. Absolute weapon! 🚗 Please Tag! 📸 @goodingandcompany #RennEleven
