Healthy Crispy chickpeas: 
Rinse cooked or canned chickpeas very well. Season them with 1/2 teaspoon of (salt, ginger powder, garlic powder, paprika), a pinch of sugar with 2 tablespoons of olive oil 
On a baking sheet, spread the chickpeas.   • Last week i cooked a lot of chickpeas. Turned out i put way too many for soaking but it was a happy accident since i got to experiment and create tasty things. If you soak too many chickpeas you can always rinse and drain them and store them in the fridge for a few days.
For this variation of chick patties and chick balls i used:
400gr of cooked chickpeas
🔪a big onion
🥕a big grated carrot
🔪2 medium cloves of garlic
🍅2 heaping teaspoons of tomato paste
🥄1 tablespoon of salt
🥄half a vegetable cube
🥄1 tablespoon freshly grounded pepper 🥄1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (if you want them even spicier you could go up to 2 tablespoons or if you dont like spicy you can substitute cayenne for sweet or roasted paprika)
🥄2 tablespoons dried parsley 🥄2 tablespoons dried mint 🔪5 to 10 gr of fresh coriander (only the leaves)
🥄100gr of flour
🥄2 tablespoons of olive oil

My chickpeas were already soaked washed and drained and i put them in a pot of boiling water  for 20 mins together with half a vegetable cube. While waiting for the chickpeas i grated the carrot in a big bowl, used the food processor to make a paste of the onion, garlic and coriander and then added it to the bowl. If you choose to use fresh parsley and mint then you also add them to the food processor. When chickpeas are ready drain and weigh them and use the food processor to mince them. Add the chickpea mince to the bowl and mix well. Now it is time to sieve the flour, add the remaining spices and the olive oil and mix well. Shape the mixture in balls or patties. I made some balls of 35gr each and some patties of 85 gr. I think i made 4 patties and more than 10 balls. I baked in the airfrier at 180 for 15 mins and flipped the patties  halfway through. The chickballs make a great party snack  #kaliorexi #eetsmakelijk

  • *Rezept - Feedback* Kichererbsen-Arrabiata-Nudeln - Werbung, weil Markennennung - 
Da ich heute früh Zeit hatte, wollte ich direkt mal die Kichererbsen-Nudeln von Aldi ausprobieren, welche ich mitgebracht bekommen hatte :). Hier mein Feedback:
- Geschmack: sie sind relativ trocken, schmecken leicht nach Kichererbsen und ansonsten aber ganz gut
- Kochaufwand: minimal mit 4-6min Kochzeit
- + sie machen super satt!
- ob ich sie nochmal kaufen würde weiß ich nicht recht, das liegt aber daran, dass ich insgesamt nicht allzu häufig so Nudeln esse. Ich probiere weiterhin noch die anderen Sorten aus - mit roten Linsen und Erbsen ☺️ Meine Zubereitung: Zwiebeln in der Pfanne glasig gebraten, ein paar Tomaten kleinschneiden und dazu geben. 3 EL Arrabiata-Soße hinzu. Leicht köcheln lassen und die Nudeln hineingeben.   • Chickpeas!  I let the chickpea plants dry completely before harvesting.  Then I beat them with sticks to get the chickpeas to separate from the plant and husk.  Next step is to drop them slowly from chest height.  The wind will blow away the lighter husk, and leave the chickpeas.  #chickpeas #organic #Lebanon #traditional

This recipe by @wellnourished adds balsamic vinegar and cinnamon & recommends serving with dukkah to add spice to one of our favourites. 
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas
1 clove garlic -finely diced
4 tbsp  hulled tahini (halve if using unhulled)
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp water
2 tbsp olive oil -extra virgin
½ tsp ground cumin
½ tap ground cinnamon
1 tbsp sea salt
Ground black pepper -to taste

  • Borek are Turkish spinach or tomato rolls, traditionally made with crispy yufka pastry. Quick and easy to put together, these snacks are a serious crowd pleaser!
Yield: 24 rolls
INGREDIENTS
TURKISH BOREK:
360g package of yufka or filo pastry sheets
3/4 cup  milk + 2 tbsp oil to brush
sesame seeds to garnish
SPINACH FILLING (FOR ABOUT 17 ROLLS):
1 onion diced
2 garlic cloves chopped
300g baby spinach fresh or frozen
250g feta cheese
salt and pepper to taste
TOMATO FILLING (FOR ABOUT 7 ROLLS):
1/2 cup NaturZ Cashews (75 g)
2 tbsp NaturZ Sunflower Seeds (optional)
1/2 cup tomato puree (120 ml)
1-2 garlic cloves pressed
1-2 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Italian herbs optional
INSTRUCTIONS
SPINACH FILLING:
1. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onion 1-2 minutes. Add the garlic and spinach and sauté 1-2 minutes longer until wilted. Let cool slightly and squeeze to remove excess liquid. (Alternatively, use frozen spinach. Just thaw, squeeze and combine with roasted onions & garlic).
2. Chop the spinach mixture coarsely, mix with crumbled feta (or blend all of the ingredients in a food processor). Season with salt and pepper to taste
TOMATO FILLING:
1. Soak cashews and sunflower seeds in hot water for about 15 minutes, then rinse and drain.
2. Put the soaked cashews and sunflower seeds along with the remaining ingredients for the tomato filling in a food processor and blend to combine. Season with salt, pepper, (nutritional yeast and Italian herbs) to taste.
ROLL BOREK CIGARS:
1. Place one triangle of yufka/filo dough on a work surface with the longer edge facing you, and brush with the milk-oil mixture generously.
2. Place 1-2 tablespoons of the filling near the wide end of the triangle, leaving about 2cm border on each side. Fold the long sides of the dough slightly over the filling. Fold in the sides to seal and roll up tight. Then place on a baking tray and repeat with the rest of the dough and filling.
3. Brush the spinach rolls with the milk-oil mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Meat Free Mondays  are becoming my fave 😝 I feel like I’m cheating because honestly I will usually pair a veggie dish with some chicken or fish buttt still I appreciate all the veggies just as much! ⠀

You open the fridge to get your lunch container that was prepped the day before.
Yet, there is no lunch container. You forgot to meal prep 🤦🏼‍♀️
So what do you do?
A) Do you leave without lunch knowing damn well you’ll end up buying take away? Or
B) Do you grab whatever pantry staples you have and create a quick balanced meal in under 5 minutes?

I always make sure I have canned tuna, wild salmon and legumes in the pantry for this reason. Pantry staples are just as important.

I am yet to do a weekly shop, so I used whatever vegetables I had. Mixed lettuce leaves, green capsicum, cherry tomatoes and avocado. Topped with 75g canned chickpeas and 1 can of tuna (I love @sirenatuna in oil ~ Italian style). Drizzled with lemon juice and olive oil. And there you have it. In under 5 minutes, lunch was sorted (even if I was half asleep) 🙈

If this ever happens to you, use this general rule:
🍗 Choose a source of protein (aim to fill 1/4 of your plate)
🥕 Choose some vegetables (aim to fill 1/2 of your plate)
🍠 Choose some carbohydrates (aim to fill 1/4 of your plate, preferably with wholegrains. Use legumes if need be)
🥑 Add in some healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds)

1. preheat oven to 200C/180C fan/400F/gas 6, line a baking tray with non stick baking parchment.⁣

2. After draining and rinsing the chickpeas, pat them dry with a clean tea towel, then add them to a bowl.⁣
⁣
3. sprinkle in the curry powder and stir until the curry powder has coated all of the chickpeas.⁣
⁣
4. Bake them in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes , turning them over halfway through cooking time!⁣ .

Here’s one of my favourite bowls - Crispy Curried Chickpeas, Bulgar Wheat, Steamed broccoli, tomatoes & vegan mayo in the middle. 🌱 Me and Mia spent the day baking some yummy treats for a relaxing Sunday, but we originally planned to go to the cinema to watch Lion King, but it was all fully booked 😱 so we have booked seats for tomorrow instead and we are super excited about!! ⁣Anyone else hyped to see the new Lion King movie? 🦁 ⁣
    𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐬⁣ • 400g can chickpeas, drained & rinsed ⁣
    • 1-2tsp curry powder (depends on how much you like)⁣

    𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 ⁣
    1. preheat oven to 200C/180C fan/400F/gas 6, line a baking tray with non stick baking parchment.⁣

    2. After draining and rinsing the chickpeas, pat them dry with a clean tea towel, then add them to a bowl.⁣

    3. sprinkle in the curry powder and stir until the curry powder has coated all of the chickpeas.⁣

    4. Bake them in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes , turning them over halfway through cooking time!⁣ .

  • Ooooh what I would do for a fat bowl of salad, chickpeas, edamame, and avo 🥑 still recovering from getting my wisdom teeth out. And it can definitely be discouraging not being able to eat real foods. My diet has consisted of all liquid foods (I got all 4 wisdom teeth out) like smoothies, juices, apple sauce, mashed potatoes...and lemme tell ya, it gets REAL old. Soo of course I’m going through all my foodie pics and reliving all these amazing meals ✨ let’s just say I’ve started a list of foods that I can’t wait to eat once I’m done with all of this..what can I say I love to eat!!!! Anyways I feel like I haven’t talked to all you lovely bbs in a while and I miss y’all 💜 hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and self care Sunday 💫 #plantifulpisces

(Serves 5)⁣
📝INGREDIENTS📝⁣
1/2 Red Onion⁣
3/4 Cup Cucumber⁣
1/2 Cup Parsley⁣
15 Oz Chickpeas (Canned)⁣
15 Oz Kidney Beans (Canned)⁣
15 Oz Cannellini Beans (Canned)⁣
2 Tbsp Olive Oil⁣
1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar⁣
1/2 Tsp Dried Oregano⁣
1/2 Tsp Salt⁣
1/4 Tsp Pepper⁣
⁣
PREPARATION
1. Thinly slice the onion, and chop the cucumber into small cubes.⁣
2. In a large mixing bowl, add the onion, cucumber, parsley, chickpeas, kidney beans, and cannellini beans.⁣
3. Mix thoroughly to ensure an even distribution of ingredients.⁣
4. In a measuring jug, combine the oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, salt and pepper, and whisk until the liquids are combined.⁣
5. Add the dressing to the bean mixture, and stir to coat.⁣
6. Serve and enjoy .
