  • Cheers 🥂 to Maggie and Peter!! Mahalo for letting us be a part of your special day! We're so honored to have had the the opportunity to debut or newest canopy design as the ceremony arch for Maggie and Peter's initimate wedding ceremony. With THE @maggie_coulombe as our bride the pressure was on to deliver a piece that could capture Maggie's eye and function to provide shade, structure and style ... I needed to create a piece that could blend with the weathered aged ruins of this beautiful, untouched venue and also mix in a bit of a modern touch (for Maggie). I wanted to create something that had more of a built-in look (no staking or visible fasteners).... Something Tropical/ modern in a weathered wood finish. As overly - used as bamboo is in this industry, the tropical vibe it evokes is undeniable...so I tried to incorporate it in a less common way & use it in the roof panels to provide shade and some shadow play for visual interest. The inability to stake on site presented some structural challenges, but the corbels installed in the corners, added an incredible amount of strength while also helping to create an artisanal/handcrafted touch. As one of my first designs for a canopy/arch I'm beyond thrilled with how this one turned out... And then to debut it with @maggiecoulombe and @events_by_darren_keala .... Its going to be a tough one for us to top!!!! Swipe to see @meewmeewstudios capture of the radiant bride (in her own handmade dress, of course 🙌🙌🙌)
