  • I remember when I was so happy to be “skinny”. I had just gone through a bad breakup and my weight felt like the one thing I could control at that point in time. I felt validated whenever anyone told me “you’ve lost weight!” I felt empowered. But I wasn’t.
.
I was controlled by a stupid number on a stupid scale. I was intentionally skipping meals and honestly drinking more than I was eating. I wasn’t healthy. I was caged. .
.
Fast forward to a happier, healthier, proudly thicker momma bear who still has a love/hate with her scale, but treats herself to Publix fried chicken more.

Currently 160(ish) 👈🏾 Less than 140 🍑 💕🍕

  • Tijgerstrepen oftewel Striae. Bij de zwangerschap van Sion hoopte ik dat ik ze niet zou krijgen en guess what? Ik kreeg ze ook niet. Wat was ik blij! Maar nu, bij mijn tweede zwangerschap van ons meisje kwam het ineens bij week 30 tevoorschijn en omdat het aan de onderkant alleen maar zichtbaar is, zag ik het niet meteen. Mijn moeder aaide over mijn buik en zag het. Eerlijk gezegd, schrok ik en vond ik het best erg..

Waar ik zoveel vrouwen hier op instagram tegen kom en lees dat ze de strepen hebben omarmt en met het boodschap dat je trots moet zijn op die strepen, ben ik ze liever kwijt dan rijk. Ik probeer er aan te wennen, maar als ik ze dan weer in de spiegel zie dan baal ik er best wel van. Ik ben zeker wel trots op mijn lichaam, vooral wat het kan en omdat het een veilig huisje is geweest voor Sion en nu ook voor ons meisje. Maar dat hoeft niet te betekenen dat ik ook blij moet zijn met mijn 'tijgerstrepen'. Hoe het eruit gaat zien na de bevalling, wacht ik maar af en misschien valt het best mee en als dat niet het geval is..heb ik het misschien toch omarmt en vind ik ook dat ik een "tijger ben die de strepen heeft verdient" 🍀

“I’ll be prettier when...”
“I’ll find love when...”
“I’ll be happier when...”
These sentences all used to end with “I lose weight and am (x) size” and that was a lie. Now these sentences end with, "when I value myself", "when I love myself" "when I see I have more to give than my appearance. 
Knowing your worth as a person and knowing how powerful you are is the sexiest and prettiest thing in my opinion. 
Work on your self-confidence and view of who you are over this time, not trying to look some type of way ❤️ Sending love and body positivity ✨

  • Vulnerable post: this is me in a nutshell... picture on the left 6 years ago, picture on the right today. I struggle daily with my imagine. I don’t see to sweat and work I put into losing 90lbs. I see the same person on the left all the time.

I try to be positive, but today I felt like my self-worth just wasn’t there. I’m not pretty enough, I’m not fit enough etc, etc. It’s a mind boggling experience. I work daily to give myself self-love and usually can do it in some form but all I’m doing now is critiquing myself.

  • It's important to not spread the negativity. I know we put people down because that is what is done to us. But that cycle and domino effect has to stop. You CAN spread kindness. You can say something kind to brighten someone's day. And if you can't because you are lacking in basic human principles then just shut your mouth. Scroll pass their content. Walk pass them and don't say what you are thinking. Practice restraint.

I want to talk about body positivity today... like most things, it means something unique for each of us

To me, it means accepting my body as it is, both good and bad... And “bad” is not negative to me. Are there things about my body that I’d change if I could? Absolutely! Is that negativity? Not to me! I’m not opposed to plastic surgery nor do I judge anyone who does it...
——
In the meantime, I dress my figure accordingly... i.e. no mini skirts 🤷🏻‍♀️ and use of shape wear🩱I exercise and eat (mostly) healthy... and frankly try not to obsess about it

  • SWIPE —> 🦸‍♂️😎🔥 I just done one of the best circuits I have ever done. It Includes cardio and core work as well as working each muscle group. It is all bodyweight or resistance bands, but you could use dumbbells or barbells as an alternative to any Resistance exercise.

Es ist deine innere Einstellung, die unter anderem über deine Lebensqualität entscheidet. Du alleine hast die Macht über deine Gedanken. Erkenne negative Gedankengänge und versuche sie ins Positive umzuwandeln.

3. Celebrate your individuality.
Jeder Mensch ist einzigartig durch seine Erfahrungen, Erziehung, Werte, Aussehen, Einflüsse (.. diese Liste könnte man noch endlos weiter führen). Glaube an dich und deine Stärken.🙏🏻 4. Failure is ok.
Jeder Fehltritt zeigt uns, wie wir es in Zukunft besser machen können.

In times of crisis, lack of access, need to quarantine, we are turning to processed foods!! Processed is a much wider definition than many people think.  Canned food, frozen food, processed!  Are you stocking up on shelf stable items?  They're processed!  I say this to let you know that processed foods are GOOD, not to shame you into thinking you're doing something bad.  Right now (and always) we need these foods.  We need things we can have on hand for awhile and they'll be available to eat. ⁠

It's ok to rely on processed foods.  It's ok to eat a diet that is not full of fresh everything.  It's ok to eat differently than normal right now.⁠
⁠
What should you be thinking about in terms of your eating patterns right now?  Number one is always adequacy.  Are you eating enough?  After that you can look at variety.  Are you getting all 3 macronutrients (carbs, protein, fat). That's about all to focus on now.  Think of the BASICS, and enjoy your processed foods.⁠

  • So I’ve got a bit of a honest post for today. So being at home and being out of routine has really started to take a role on my body confidence. Because I’ve been out of my usual gym routine and I haven’t been able to walk as much as I usually might like during the day, I’ve felt my body confidence get lower and lower. Over the past week I’ve felt so bloated and I have constantly worried about putting weight back on and losing my progress. I felt because I was stuck at home, I wasn’t as active as normal, when in reality I’ve been running, cycling and I’m working out at home. I think it’s more to do with being at home more and being out of my normal routine and it’s taking a tole on me mentally. I have to keep remembering that it’s okay if I put on weight in isolation because I’m already doing everything I can to keep active. I don’t have to workout every single day and I should take comfort in the fact that everyone is going through this together. We have to take care of not only our physical health in isolation but our mental health too. I need to stop worrying about putting weight on and what I’m eating and how I’m burning that off. Instead I need to focus on doing things with my days that make me feel good and fulfilled! So that’s my aim this week and honestly I’m already feeling a lot better ⭐️ ———————————————————

So, let’s recap - 
I’ve been ridiculously slack in posting on here so I apologise for that, but for a while I was struggling. Really badly. 
Struggling to the point where I just wanted to give up, I was sick and tired of feeling so mentally exhausted. 
I was so so so drained. 
But.. I’ve looked after my mental health, I’ve thought about all the things I were struggling with and I’ve come to terms to some real stuff and I’m happy. 
I’m so happy within myself and I’ve never felt the most at peace, so if this whole isolation thing is bringing out the struggles then I’m only a message away and my DMs will always be open. 🍀🌲🌿🌵🌳

  • #tb to 2016, my most shredded days. I’m not gonna lie... still love this shape and miss those days where I was so happy with my shape that I wanted to be in bikini 24/7 👙 But.. when your happiness depends on your shape, is it really happiness? 🤔 Nope, cause when I had my cheat day and couldn’t control myself because of the crazy cravings I felt so lost. I easily gained 3 kg’s in one weekend and felt my confidence go down the drain 😩

Most of my DM’s are questions about what I did to loose weight and how to get my body. First thing I always say is stop comparing!! ⛔️ You’re comparing your beautiful body with a picture! A picture says nothing about what someone did to get that shape, if they feel happy, if they’re healthy or even how they look when they’re relaxt and not posing 🤷🏽‍♀️

I no longer compare myself to pics like these, it seems like a different life and a different person. I focus on my body right now.. love it, cherish it and take care of it ✨ I may have some more flesh on my bones 🍗, less abs and more cellulite. But I’m just taking my time to work on the best version of myself #norush. Cause nothing beats a healthy and most important happy body! ❤️ #loveyourself #happybodyhappymind

  • Ich wollte immer einen kleinen Po haben, schlanke Arme, einen Ellenbogen den man erkennt, kleine Brüste, von allem halt sehr viel weniger. Achso und ich wollte immer gerne kleiner sein, ich bin mit meinen 1,76 nicht riesig aber schon größer als viele Personen in meinem Umfeld.
Ich glaube der Wunsch war oft gar nicht nach einem anderen Körper, ich wollte mich oft einfach kleiner fühlen.
"ein großes, breites Mädchen, was auch noch laut ist", genau so wollte ich oft nicht sein.
Ich wollte sein wie die zarten, eleganten Mädchen in manchen Teenie-Filmen. Die, die man beim Cheerleading hochwerfen kann und auch noch nach drei Mal rum wirbeln in der Luft gut aussah. Tja, die war ich aber nie.
Ich weiß nicht zu welchem Zeitpunkt das passierte aber ich sagte mir: "Nur weil du nicht aussiehst wie die Cheerleader bedeutet es nicht, dass du keiner sein kannst". Ich bin zwar kein Cheerleader geworden aber ich legte meinen Schwerpunkt nicht mehr auf mein Gewicht.
Das beinhaltet Klamotten, Dating, Verhalten, Sport...
Kurz gesagt: Ich sehe mich nicht nur als Dicke, ich sehe mich als Menschen 💛
